What bookings are

With bookings, customers book a time with you on your shop page. For example, a Gel polish appointment, a futsal court for an hour, or seats on a Snorkel trip. Each booking shows in your calendar. The owner, senior managers and managers can also add a booking by hand, for example when someone calls. See Add a booking or a walk-in.

What customers see

Your services sit in their own list on your shop page, called Book a time. It is above your items. Services never go in the basket.

Each service has one button on the right:

  • Book: customers pick a day and a time, then book it.
  • Ask: the service waits for your OK. Customers ask for a time, and you answer. See Answer a booking request.
  • Message to book: customers send you a message to book. When they tap it, a sheet opens with the message ready, like "I'd like to book Gel polish. When can you fit me in?"

Book and Ask show once bookings are open and Booking online is on. See Choose how customers book online.

Customers see

a line under Book a time with your rules, like "30% deposit · Free to change until 24 hours before".

Customers see

when they tap Book, a sheet where they pick a day and a time. Under its button, a line like "We keep it 15 minutes while you pay." The time is kept for them while they finish booking.

Your page shows Message to book when customers cannot book that service on your page. For example:

  • in your free trial
  • when Booking online is off
  • on a service that nobody who takes bookings does

If your shop shows no way to message you, the service says "Book at the shop" instead.

See What customers see when they book and Customers can't book.

What comes with your Storefront plan

Bookings come with the Storefront plan for one person, court or room. For example, you alone, or one futsal court. Customers can book that one on your page.

When you need Bookings for more

Bookings for more is an add-on. You need it to take bookings for:

  • two or more people, courts or boats
  • seats on a trip or class, even with one boat

Without it, you can still save a second person, court or boat with their hours. But customers cannot book them until you add Bookings for more.

You can see the price in the add-on store. As the owner:

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Add-ons at the top.
  3. Scroll down to Sell more ways. Bookings for more is there.

The card shows once you have started bookings. See Bookings for more.

Bookings in your free trial

In your free trial, you set up bookings and look around. Nothing can be booked until you pay your plan.

  • You can add who gets booked, their hours and your services. You can add as many people, courts and boats as you like. See Set up bookings.
  • Your calendar shows your day as it will look. At the top it says "This is your day as it will look. Bookings open when you pay."
  • Free times show a small lock. Tap one, and a sheet called Bookings open when you pay opens.
  • Customers see Message to book on every service, even when Booking online is on.

As the owner, you can try booking on your page yourself. In Settings, under Bookings, tap Try your booking page. Your shop page opens. Under your services, it says "Try every step as a customer would. Nothing is booked and nobody is told." The row shows once you have added who gets booked. See Try your booking page.

Bookings open when you pay your plan. A line at the top of the app shows your days left, like "Free trial · 9 days left", with Open bookings at the end. As the owner, tap Open bookings to pay. If you pay by transfer, bookings open when your slip is checked. See Open bookings.

A free listing has no bookings

A free listing is the free plan. It has no bookings. Your first tab says Home, and Settings has no Take bookings. To take bookings, open a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.

If your trial ends before you pay, or your plan stops, new bookings close. See When your trial ends or your plan stops.

Two kinds of booking shop

Where your calendar is depends on how your shop started.

A shop that starts with bookings

When you opened your shop, you picked Salons & spas, Trips & activities or Sports & classes, under Take bookings. Or you tapped Take bookings when Grow asked "What brought you to Eveyla?".

Once you start setting up bookings, your first tab is Bookings. The bar at the bottom shows Bookings, POS, Services, Insights and Settings. When you also sell a product, Services says Items.

The bar at the bottom of a booking shop, with the Bookings tab marked.

Inside Bookings, a switch at the top shows Calendar first and Orders second. Calendar is your day of bookings. Orders is your order board.

A shop that sells and adds bookings

You picked another kind of shop when you opened it, and added bookings later. Your first tab stays Orders. Inside it, the switch at the top shows Orders first and Calendar second.

To add bookings to a shop that sells, as the owner:

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Under Storefront, tap Take bookings. It says "One person, court or room is in your plan". The booking setup opens. Its first page asks "What do people book from you?".
Settings in a shop that sells, with the Take bookings row marked.

See Set up bookings.

In both kinds of shop, the switch stays on the one you used last on that phone. On a computer, the tabs are in the bar on the left.

Who can use it

  • Everyone in your team can open the calendar: the owner, senior managers, managers and staff. Your team sees fewer tabs in the bar. See What each role can do.
  • Only the owner can tap Take bookings, pay the plan and add Bookings for more. Settings, Billing and Add-ons are for the owner only.
  • The owner, senior managers and managers can open Bookings settings from the calendar. The button with three dots at the top right, next to Day and Week, opens a sheet called Bookings. Bookings settings is in it.

Bookings need a Storefront. One person, court or room comes with the plan. For more, you need the add-on Bookings for more.

Tip

Turn on Booking online while you set up. Then customers can book on your page from the day bookings open. See Choose how customers book online.
