What it is

A free listing is a free shop page with up to 5 items. Customers see your items and message you on WhatsApp or Viber to order. A Storefront turns on the rest. Customers order on your page, and their orders come to your order board.

You have a free listing when the first tab at the bottom says Home. On a Storefront, it says Orders.

Find it

  1. Tap Home in the bar at the bottom.

You can also get there from Settings:

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Team & account.
  3. Tap Upgrade to Storefront. It says Cart, checkout & live orders under it. Home opens.

On a computer, Home and Settings are in the bar on the left.

Every setting

Top of the page

At the top, small green capital letters say Seller and Listing · Free. Under them are your shop name and "Listed on Eveyla". If you set your island, the line also says, for example, "Malé · visible in search".

The QR code button at the top right opens Share your shop. See Share your shop link and QR code.

Did your free trial end, or is your storefront paused? Then a box at the top says Your free trial ended or Your storefront is paused. After you pay, it says Payment under review until Eveyla checks your payment. Did the trial end before you added any items? Then a sheet called Your shop has no items yet opens one time. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) See My storefront is paused.

This box shows your shop link, like shop.eveyla.com/your-shop.

  • Tap Copy to copy it. The button says Copied for a moment. Then paste it in a chat.
  • Tap Open to see your page the way customers see it. It opens in a new tab.
  • Tap Edit listing details & island → to change your details. Settings opens. Your island is under Location. See Set your island and address.

Your shop is only half on

This green card shows what a Storefront adds. It says: "A Listing shows your items. A Storefront turns on the rest:". A list follows. See What a Storefront adds below.

The card can also show how many people found you this week. For example: "3 people messaged to order this week" or "12 people viewed your listing this week".

At the bottom of the card is a white button. It says Open my storefront or Start 14-day free trial. The price shows under it. See Open a Storefront below.

Views, Messages and Items

Three boxes with numbers. Their names are in capital letters.

  • Views and Messages show how many people looked at your page and messaged you.
  • Items shows how many items you have, out of 5. For example, 3/5.

While Views and Messages load, they show "-".

Items

Here you add and change your items. Next to the title Items, you see how many you have, like "3 / 5". With no items, it says "No items yet. Add a few so customers know what you sell."

To add an item:

  1. Tap + Add item under your items. A new item appears at the end of the list. Its name is "New item" and its price is 0.
  2. Right away, tap the Item name box.
  3. Delete "New item".
  4. Type the name. For example, Chocolate cake.
  5. Tap the Price (MVR) box.
  6. Delete the 0.
  7. Type the price. For example, 50.
  8. Tap Save under the item.

Each item also has:

  • A photo: the grey square on the left, with a picture sign. Tap it and pick a photo. To change it, tap the photo and pick another. To take it off, tap Remove under it. After you add, change or remove a photo, tap Save.
  • Description (optional): a short note under the name. The box says "A short note customers will see". Type your note, then tap Save.
  • A bin button on the right: tap it to delete the item. It goes right away.

Save shows only after you change something. Change one item at a time. Tap its Save before you change anything else.

When you have 5 items, a box says: "You've used all 5 listing slots. Open a storefront for unlimited items and in-app orders." + Add item turns grey. To add a new item, delete items until you have fewer than 5. Or open a Storefront.

What customers see

Customers open your link and see your listing page:

  • your logo, shop name, category (what you sell), island and description. With no logo, they see a small picture for your kind of shop.
  • a line like "Takes orders on WhatsApp & Viber · 3 items".
  • your items, two side by side, with photo, name, note and price. They tap an item to see a big photo and the full note.
  • a green + button on each item. They tap it to pick how many they want.
  • big WhatsApp and Viber buttons at the bottom.

With no items, they see "No items listed yet." Under your items, a small card says "Got something to sell?". It lets other people make their own free page.

When they tap WhatsApp or Viber, a message to you opens. It already says hello and that they saw your listing on Eveyla. It also lists the items they picked. They send it, and you reply in the chat.

Customers see

no basket and no checkout (the last page, where customers place the order). They order by message, not on the page.

With only a phone number and no WhatsApp or Viber, the button says Message (SMS). With no number at all, it says "Contact unavailable". To set your number, see Add your phone, WhatsApp, Viber and social links. To add a logo and description, see Add your logo, name and description.

What a Storefront adds

The green card lists what a Storefront turns on:

A Storefront also has no 5-item limit, and you can invite a team. It also has Grow, your shop assistant.

On a free listing, Grow says Grow comes with a Storefront. Did your trial end, or is your storefront paused? Then Grow says Grow is paused with your Storefront. Its Pay to restore button opens Billing. See Meet Grow, your shop assistant.

Some pages show a card that says Not included in your plan. That part comes with a Storefront. Some extras show Available as an add-on instead. See Turn an add-on on or off.

Open a Storefront

The green card shows one of two buttons.

Open my storefront

  1. Tap Home in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to the green card Your shop is only half on.
  3. Tap Open my storefront. The Billing page opens.
  4. Pay there by bank transfer. See Pay your Eveyla bill.

Did your trial end, or is your storefront paused? Then the box at the top of Home has a Restore storefront button. It opens the same Billing page.

Start 14-day free trial

If the card says Start 14-day free trial, you can try a Storefront for free first. The card says: "No card. Stays a free Listing if you don't pay." No card means you do not need a bank card.

  1. Tap Home in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to the green card Your shop is only half on.
  3. Tap Start 14-day free trial. A page called Open your shop opens. Your listing details are filled in.
  4. Leave Shop name as it is. You can change your name in Settings after the trial starts.
  5. Look at the link under Shop name. Your Storefront will use this link. Is it the link in Your listing link on Home? If yes, go to step 8.
  6. If it does not match, tap Change. A box called Shop link opens.
  7. In the Shop link box, type the end of your link, like your-shop. Use the same end as your listing link to keep it.
  8. Check Island, Phone number and What you sell. The app says the phone number is "For order alerts. Customers won't see it."
  9. Tap Start free trial at the bottom. It says Starting… for a moment.

Your shop is now a Storefront on a free trial. The app opens a page that helps you add items. See Your first minutes in the app. A line at the top of the app shows the days left. For example: "Free trial · 14 days left". See Pay your Eveyla bill.

To change your shop name later, see Add your logo, name and description.

Your order board may say Storefront not live yet or Open your storefront free for 14 days. This means your Storefront is not open yet. See Pay your Eveyla bill.

Who can use it

A free listing is free. Only the owner can open a Storefront or change Settings.

You cannot invite a team on a free listing. To invite a team, you need a Storefront. See Invite someone to your team.

Common mistakes

Customers see "Contact unavailable"

Your page has no number to message.

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Under Contact, tap Phone, WhatsApp & Viber.
  3. Type your number in the Contact number box.
  4. Tap Save.

A red message shows after I pick a photo

It says "That photo didn't upload, please try a different image." Tap the photo square again. Pick a different photo.

A red message shows when I tap Save

Each message says what to fix:

  • "Item name is required." Type a name in Item name.
  • "Price must be 0 or more." Type the price in numbers only, like 50.

Then tap Save again.

My changes are gone

Changes you did not save are lost when you leave the page. They are also lost when you save another item, add an item or delete one. Make your changes again. Then tap Save on that item right away. If its photo is gone, add the photo again and tap Save.

I cannot add another item

Your listing is full, so + Add item is grey. Delete items with the bin button until you have fewer than 5. Or open a Storefront to add as many as you like.

A red message shows when I tap Start free trial

The box with the problem is marked in red. The app says "Fill in the parts marked in red." Then each box says what to fix:

  • "Add your shop name." Type your shop name in Shop name.
  • "Add a link for your shop." Type a link in the Shop link box.
  • "That link is taken, try another." Type a different link in the Shop link box.
  • "Use 3 to 40 letters, numbers or hyphens." In the Shop link box, use only letters, numbers and dashes (-). Do not use spaces.
  • "Pick your island or area." Pick your island in Island.
  • "Add your number for Eveyla." Type your phone number in Phone number.
  • "Pick what you sell." Pick one in What you sell.

Tip

Share your listing link in your WhatsApp and Viber status. A few days later, look at Views and Messages on Home. They show if people found your page.
