What it is
Try your booking page opens your shop page as customers will see it once bookings open. You can go through every step of a booking, like a customer. Nothing is booked and nobody is told. This guide calls it the try-out. It is there in your free trial, while you set up bookings.
Find it
Your first screen is Bookings or Orders, depending on how your shop started.
- Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
- Look for the Bookings group. If your shop started with bookings, it is at the top. If you added bookings to a shop that sells, scroll down. It is under Your link.
- Tap Try your booking page. It says "As customers will see it once bookings open". Your shop page opens.
On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.
The row shows only in your free trial, once someone takes bookings. If you do not see it, see Common mistakes below.
Every setting
To book a time on your page:
- Scroll down to Book a time. It is above your items.
- Tap Book next to a service. The Book sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) A service that waits for your OK says Ask instead.
- Tap a day. A free time on that day is already picked.
- Tap the big button at the bottom. It shows the time, like "Hold 13:00 to 13:45". The booking checkout opens.
- Under Who is coming?, type a name in the Name box.
- Type a phone number in the Phone box. Your own number is fine.
- If the button at the bottom says Next: pay, tap it. The pay step opens.
- Tap Finish the preview at the bottom. You do not need to attach a slip. A sheet called That's the whole booking opens.
- Tap Done. Settings opens again.
Your name and phone may be filled in already, with "saved on this phone". Then skip steps 5 and 6.
For each part of the Book sheet and the checkout, see What customers see when they book.
The bar at the top
A dark bar sits at the top of your page. It says "Preview · only you see this". It stays on the booking checkout too.
On the right is Done. Tap it at any time to stop. Settings opens again.
Sometimes the bar has a second line:
- "Add a service first." Your shop has no service, so there is nothing to book.
- "Couldn't load your preview." with Try again. Check your internet, then tap Try again.
The note under your services
Under your services, a note says:
"Try every step as a customer would. Nothing is booked and nobody is told."
If Booking online is off, the note goes on: "Turn on Booking online in Settings, and customers book like this once you pay." Your services still show Book here, so you can try it. See Choose how customers book online.
If a service shows Message to book, the note also says: "Message to book shows on a service nobody who takes bookings does, or one with a choice to make first." See Common mistakes below.
Paying
The pay step shows your bank account or PayPal, the way customers will see it. Check that your account name and number are right.
If you have not added a bank account or PayPal, it says: "Customers pay a deposit here. Add your bank account or PayPal in Settings, Payment details, so they can." When the whole price is paid at booking, it says "in full" instead of "a deposit". See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.
That's the whole booking
This sheet opens when you tap Finish the preview. Its first line says what customers do at this step. For example:
- "Customers send their slip here, and the booking lands in your calendar."
- "Customers send their request here, and you answer it in Bookings." This is for a service that asks first.
Then it says "Nothing was booked, and nobody was told."
A grey box says "Bookings open when you pay." If Booking online is off, it adds: "Turn on Booking online in Settings too, so customers can book like this."
Two buttons are at the bottom:
- Done: stop trying. Settings opens again.
- Back to my page: go back to your shop page to try another service. The bar stays on.
When it stops
The try-out stops when you tap Done. It also stops when you go back to any screen in Eveyla. Then your page looks as it does for customers. To try again, tap Try your booking page again.
Customers seeyour page as it is now. In your free trial, each service shows Message to book.
Who can use it
Only the owner can use Try your booking page. Team members do not see Settings.
It needs a Storefront. It shows only in your free trial, before bookings open. Bookings come with the Storefront plan for one person, court or room. For more, Bookings for more is an add-on. You can see its price in the add-on store. See Bookings for more.
Common mistakes
I can't find Try your booking page
- Is someone in Who gets booked, and switched on? The row shows once someone takes bookings. See Add who gets booked.
- Are you still in your free trial? After bookings open, the row goes away. Then your shop page is the real one, and a booking you make there is real. See Open bookings.
- Are you the owner? Only the owner sees Settings.
A service says Message to book in the try-out
Nobody who takes bookings does this service, or customers must make a choice first.
- Open the service and look at Who does it. Pick someone who takes bookings, or Everyone.
- Does the service have extras with Customers must pick on? Then it shows Message to book.
See Make a service bookable. Then tap Try your booking page again.
My shop page shows Message to book on every service
You may have opened your page with View storefront, or the try-out stopped. That is the page customers see now. In your free trial, customers see Message to book. To book a time yourself, go back to Settings and tap Try your booking page.
The bar says "Add a service first."
Your shop has no service, so there is nothing to book. Add a service. See Make a service bookable. Then tap Try your booking page again.
Tip
Try it again after you add your bank account. Go on to the pay step. Check that your account name and number are right there. When all looks right, see Open bookings.
