What it is

A service is something customers book for a time, like a Gel polish appointment. Booking is the round button that makes an item a service. You set how long it takes, who does it and when it can start. Services show on your shop page under Book a time. They never go in the basket.

Find it

  1. Tap Services in the bar at the bottom. If your shop also sells products, it says Items.
  2. Tap the service's name or photo. Do not tap the green button on the right of its row. The service's sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  3. Tap Booking. It is the first of the round buttons under the tiles. A panel called Booking opens.

On a computer, Services is in the bar on the left. The service opens on the right side of the screen.

In a shop that sells, you can make an item a service too. Open the item and tap Booking. Booking turns on, and the panel opens.

If you do not see Booking, see Common mistakes below.

Every setting

To make a service bookable:

  1. Under How it's booked, leave By time picked.
  2. Under How long it takes, tap a length, like 1 h.
  3. Tap Who does it. The choices open.
  4. Tap the person who does it, like Shaha. Or leave Everyone picked.
  5. Tap Done at the top right. The app says "Saved".

To add a new service:

  1. Tap Services in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Add a service at the top. A sheet for the new service opens. The Booking button is already green.
  3. Type the name, like Gel polish.
  4. Tap the big Price tile. It says "Tap to set a price".
  5. Type the price. For example, 450 for MVR 450.
  6. Tap Done at the top right.
  7. Tap Booking. The Booking panel opens.
  8. Pick the length and who does it, as in the steps above.
  9. Tap Done.
  10. Tap Add to my shop at the bottom. The app says "Added to your shop".

With no services, the page says No services yet. Tap Add your first service in the middle. On a computer, the green button also says Add a service. For the name, price and photos, see Add your first item.

Customers see

your service under Book a time on your shop page, with its length and price.

The panel's settings, from top to bottom:

How it's booked

Two buttons: By time and Seats on a trip. By time is picked when you start. Under it, the app says "A time with someone or something: a chair, a court, a room."

Seats on a trip is for a boat or a class that leaves at set times. It changes the whole panel. See Add a trip with seats.

How long it takes

Tap a length: 30 min, 45 min, 1 h, 1 h 30 or 2 h. 1 h is picked when you start. For another length, tap the minus or plus button under them. The tile shows the price and the length, with a green bar for the time.

At the top right of the box, the app says Time with someone. When only courts or rooms do it, it says Time on a court, boat or room.

If the service has sizes, like Gel and Acrylic, the box is called How long each option takes. Each size has its own tile, with its name, its price and its length. Tap minus or plus on a tile to change that size only. See Add sizes and colours.

Did you change the length of a service people have booked? A note says, for example, "1 booking already made keeps its old length. New bookings use this one."

Customers see

the length under the service's name, like "2 h". When sizes take different times, it shows the shortest and longest, like "1 h 30 to 2 h 30". When they book, each size shows its length and price.

Gap after, to clean up

Time kept free after each booking, to tidy up. Tap None, 10 min, 15 min or 30 min. None is picked when you start.

The gap shows as a small striped piece at the end of each length bar. Under the buttons, the app says "Time to tidy up before the next booking. Customers don't see it."

Who does it

This row shows round faces with first letters, and a word. The word is the names you picked, or Everyone. When Everyone is picked and two people take bookings, it says Both. Tap the row to see the choices. Tap it again to close them.

  • Everyone (picked when you start): anyone who takes bookings. Under it, the app says "Anyone who takes bookings."
  • A button for each person, court or room in Who gets booked. Tap one to pick only them. Tap more to add them. The app says, for example, "Only Shaha can be booked for it."

To go back to everyone, tap Everyone. Only people, courts and rooms that are switched on show here. Boats and classes with seats are for trips.

Is nobody added to Who gets booked? Then the app says "Nobody takes bookings yet." Tap Done first. Then add who gets booked. See Add who gets booked.

Customers see

free times only with the people you picked.

Start times

Two buttons at the top: Every 15 min and At set times. Every 15 min is picked when you start.

With Every 15 min, pick how far apart start times are: 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 30 min or 1 h. The button at the top shows your pick, like Every 30 min. Under the buttons, the app shows an example, like "Like 10:00, 10:15, 10:30."

Use At set times when a booking can start only at some times, like a court at 16:00 and 17:00.

  1. Tap At set times.
  2. Tap Add a time. A time box opens.
  3. Pick the time, like 16:00.
  4. Tap Add.
  5. Add each start time the same way.
  6. Under On these days, tap a day to take it off. Every day is on when you start.

To take a time off, tap it. For other times on some days, tap Different times on some days. Each day then gets its own row. To go back, tap The same times every day. Then every day gets the first day's times.

Under the times, the app says, for example, "Only these starts are offered, 1 h each. A start that falls in a prayer stop isn't offered that day."

A time may not fit the hours of who does it. Then a note says so, like "Shaha is closed on Friday, so the 16:00 booking wouldn't be offered then." Change the time or the days. Or change their hours. See Add who gets booked.

Customers see

only your set times when they pick a time.

Your OK before it's booked

Choose if this service waits for your yes:

  • Like the shop (picked when you start): it follows "I confirm each booking first" in Booking online. A small word shows what that is now: asks or books.
  • Always: "Customers ask for a time, and it's theirs once you say yes."
  • Never: "Customers book a free time straight away, even when the shop confirms the rest first."

Under the buttons, the app says: "On your shop page, services that wait for your OK say Ask instead of Book." See Choose how customers book online.

Customers see

Ask instead of Book on the service. When they ask, the sheet says "Nothing to pay until they say yes." You answer their request. See Answer a booking request.

Pays at the visit

This switch is on each size, not in the Booking panel. It shows only for a service with sizes. With it on, customers pay nothing online for that size. They pay it all at the visit.

  1. Tap Sizes in the round buttons. If you renamed your sizes, the button shows your word.
  2. Tap the size, like Gel.
  3. Tap the Pays at the visit switch.
  4. Tap Done. You are back in the list of sizes.
  5. Tap Done again.

When it is on, the switch says "Nothing to pay online. The whole price is paid at the visit." The size's line in the list also says "Pays at the visit". When it is off, the size follows the deposit you set in Booking online.

Customers see

"pay at the visit" at the top of the sheet where they pick a time.

Ask the customer

To ask customers something, like their diving level, use the Ask round button. On a service, its panel says "Asked once per booking, at the booking checkout and with a request." You can ask up to 4 questions. See Ask customers a question when they order.

Customers see

"A few questions from" and your shop name, while they book. They type each answer once, even with Ask twice to check on.

Turn off booking

This grey button is at the bottom of the panel. The app does not ask you first. The service saves, and the app says "Booking off". To put it back, tap Undo next to it before it goes away.

The service is now a plain item again. Customers see it with your other items, and can put it in their basket. If your shop sold only services, the Services tab is called Items again.

On the Services page

Each service's row shows a grey line with its length and who does it, like "2 h · Shaha and Liya". With more than three people and Everyone picked, it says "everyone".

The green Shown button on the right lets you hide a service or mark it sold out. A sold-out service shows "Not available" on your shop page. See Mark an item sold out or hide it.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can make a service bookable. Staff do not see the Services or Items tab.

In the panel, only the owner gets a link to Bookings settings. Senior managers and managers open it from the calendar. Tap the button with three dots at the top right, next to Day and Week. Then tap Bookings settings.

Bookings need a Storefront. The Booking button shows once your shop has started bookings. See Set up bookings.

Bookings come with the Storefront plan for one person, court or room. For more, Bookings for more is an add-on. You can see its price in the add-on store. See Bookings for more.

Common mistakes

I do not see Booking

The Booking button shows only once your shop has started bookings. See Set up bookings. It also goes away while new bookings are closed. See When your trial ends or your plan stops.

Booking is pale and says "Not with pre-order"

Booking cannot be on with Pre-order, Digital, Packs or a box. The words under it name the one that is on. Tapping Booking says, for example, "Turn off Pre-order first". Tap that other button. At the bottom of its panel, tap the button that turns it off. Then tap Booking again.

Who does it says Nobody

The app says "Nobody picked for this takes bookings now, so it can't be booked. Pick who does it, or Everyone." Everyone you picked was switched off or removed.

  1. Tap Everyone, or the person who does it now.
  2. Tap Done. The app says "Saved".

Customers see Message to book on this service

Check these, one at a time:

  • Does Who does it say Nobody? See above.
  • Does the service have Extras? Extras are not offered when customers book. If a group of Extras has Customers must pick on, the service says Message to book. Turn that switch off in the group. For a choice customers must make, use sizes instead. See Let customers add extras.
  • In Who gets booked, does the person show Needs Bookings for more? Customers cannot book them until you add it. See Bookings for more.
  • Are bookings open, and is Booking online on? See Customers can't book.

A red message says "Add a start time and its days, or go back to every few minutes."

You picked At set times with no time. Tap Add a time and add one. Check that a day is on under On these days. Or tap the first button at the top, like Every 15 min.

Tip

Give each size its own length, like 2 h for Gel and 1 h 30 for Refill. Customers then book the right amount of time for what they pick.
