What it is

A trip is a service where customers book seats, not a time with someone. For example, a Snorkel trip on your boat at 08:00 and 14:00. Everyone on the same departure shares the boat's seats. A departure is one time the boat leaves. A class works the same way.

You set it up in the Booking panel of a service, with Seats on a trip. Anything with seats needs Bookings for more, even with one boat. Bookings for more is an add-on. You can see its price in the add-on store. See Bookings for more.

Find it

First, add your boat or class in Bookings settings. Tap A court, boat or room, and set its Seats to how many people fit. See Add who gets booked.

Then open the trip:

  1. Tap Services in the bar at the bottom. If your shop also sells products, it says Items.
  2. Tap the trip's name or photo. Do not tap the green button on the right of its row. The trip's sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  3. Tap Booking. It is the first of the round buttons under the tiles. A panel called Booking opens.

On a computer, Services is in the bar on the left. The trip opens on the right side of the screen.

No trip in the list? See the steps to add a new trip, under Every setting.

In a shop that also sells, you can make any item a trip. Open the item and tap Booking. Booking turns on, and the panel opens.

Every setting

To set up a trip:

  1. Under How it's booked, tap Seats on a trip.
  2. Under Which boat or class, tap your boat. A green tick shows on it.
  3. Next to How long it runs, tap the minus or plus until it shows how long the boat is out.
  4. Under Leaves at, tap Add a time. A time box opens.
  5. Pick the time the boat leaves, like 08:00.
  6. Tap Add.
  7. Add each time the boat leaves the same way.
  8. Under On these days, tap each day the trip does not go, to take it off.
  9. Tap Done at the top right. The app says "Saved".

To add a new trip:

  1. Tap Services in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Add a service at the top. A sheet for the new service opens.
  3. Type the name, like Snorkel trip.
  4. Tap the big Price tile. It says "Tap to set a price".
  5. Type the price of one seat. For example, 450 for MVR 450.
  6. Tap Done at the top right.
  7. Tap Booking. The Booking panel opens.
  8. Set up the trip, as in the steps above.
  9. Tap Done.
  10. Tap Add to my shop at the bottom. The app says "Added to your shop".
Customers see

your trip under Book a time on your shop page, with when it leaves and the price of a seat, like "MVR 450 a seat".

The panel's settings, from top to bottom:

How it's booked

Two buttons: By time and Seats on a trip. By time is picked when you start. It is for a time with a person, court or room. See Make a service bookable.

When you tap Seats on a trip, the app says "Seats on a boat or in a class, leaving at set times. Everyone on one departure shares it." The first boat in your list is ticked.

If you tap By time again, the trip's departure times are taken off.

Which boat or class

One row for each boat or class, with its seats, like "12 seats". Tap a row to pick it. A green tick shows. A trip goes on one boat.

Under the rows, the app draws the boat's seats. It says, for example, "One departure on Boat 1" and "12 seats".

Only boats and classes with more than 1 seat show here, and only ones that are switched on.

With no boat added, the app says "Nothing with seats yet. Add a boat or a class in Bookings settings, with how many seats it has." See Common mistakes below.

Customers see

the boat's name on each departure.

How long it runs

How long the boat is out. Under it, the app says, for example, "Boat 1 is out this long". Tap the minus or plus to change it.

Every size of a trip takes this same time.

Customers see

the length under the trip's name, like "Leaves 08:00 · 3 h 30". Each departure shows when it comes back, like "Back about 11:30".

Leaves at

The times the boat leaves. At the right, the app says when it is back, like "Back 3 h 30 later".

Each time shows as a dark button, like 08:00. To take a time off, tap it.

Under the times is On these days, with a button for each day, from Sat to Fri. Every day is on when you start. Tap a day to take it off. Tap it again to put it back. With no day on, the app says "Pick the days it runs."

For other times on some days, tap Different times on some days. Each day then gets its own row of times. To go back, tap The same times every day. Then every day gets the first day's times.

A time may not fit the boat's hours. Then a note says so, like "Boat 1 is closed on Friday, so the 08:00 trip wouldn't be offered then." Change the time or the days. Or change the boat's hours. See Add who gets booked.

Customers see

under the trip's name, "Leaves 08:00 · 3 h 30". With two times, "Leaves 08:00 and 14:00 · 3 h 30". With three or more, "Leaves from 08:00 · 3 h 30".

Seats one booking can take

The most seats one customer can book at once. The line says, for example, "Up to 12, Boat 1's seats". When you start, it is all the boat's seats.

Tap the minus to make it fewer. Under it, the app draws the seats and says, for example, "A group of 8 fits on one booking". When it is less than the boat's seats, it also says "More: they message you".

Customers see

a Seats box with a minus and a plus, where they pick how many seats. At your number, it says, for example, "8 is the most on one booking. For a bigger group, message" and your shop name.

Your OK before it's booked

Choose if this trip waits for your yes: Like the shop, Always or Never. It works the same as on a service. See Make a service bookable and Choose how customers book online.

Customers see

Ask instead of Book on the trip. The button in their sheet says, for example, Ask for 2 seats. You answer their request. See Answer a booking request.

Sizes

A trip can have more than one price, like Visitor and Resident. Add each price as a size, with the Sizes round button. See Add sizes and colours.

Customers see

each size with the price of one seat, like "MVR 450 each". Your shop page shows the lowest price, like "from MVR 300 a seat".

Pays at the boat

This switch is on each size, not in the Booking panel. It shows only for a trip with sizes. With it on, customers pay nothing online for that size. They pay it all at the boat.

  1. Tap Sizes in the round buttons. If you renamed your sizes, the button shows your word.
  2. Tap the size, like Resident.
  3. Tap the Pays at the boat switch.
  4. Tap Done. You are back in the list of sizes.
  5. Tap Done again.

When it is on, the switch says "Nothing to pay online. The whole price is paid at the boat." The size's line in the list also says "Pays at the boat". When it is off, the size follows the deposit you set in Booking online.

Under the list of sizes, the app says customers who can't send a transfer can then book without paying online, and their seats are still kept for them.

Customers see

"pay at the boat" at the top of their sheet. Under the button, it says "Nothing to pay now. You pay at the boat."

Turn off booking

This grey button is at the bottom of the panel. It works the same as on a service. See Make a service bookable.

On the Services page

Each trip's row shows a grey line with its length and boat, like "3 h 30 · Boat 1".

When customers book

Customers tap Book on your trip. A sheet opens. From top to bottom:

  • Your sizes, if the trip has them, like Visitor and Resident.
  • Seats: how many seats they want.
  • A row of days. A day shows seats free, like "12 free". A day with no trip says "No trips". A day with every seat taken says "Full".
  • The departures that day. Each shows the time, when it is back, the boat and its seats. A departure they can pick shows its free seats, like "9 free".
  • A button like Hold 2 seats. Under it, the app says, for example, "We keep them 15 minutes while you pay."

See What customers see when they book.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can set up a trip. Staff do not see the Services or Items tab.

In the panel, only the owner gets a link to Bookings settings. Senior managers and managers open it from the calendar. Tap the button with three dots at the top right, next to Day and Week. Then tap Bookings settings.

Bookings need a Storefront. The Booking button shows once your shop has started bookings. See Set up bookings.

Bookings come with the Storefront plan for one person, court or room. Anything with seats needs Bookings for more, even with one boat. It is an add-on. Only the owner can add it. You can see its price in the add-on store. See Bookings for more.

In your free trial, you can set up trips and look around. Customers can book once bookings open. See Open bookings.

Common mistakes

It says "Nothing with seats yet."

You have no boat or class with seats. Add one in Bookings settings, then come back to the trip. To open it, see Add who gets booked.

  1. Tap Add someone or something.
  2. Tap A court, boat or room.
  3. Type the name in the Name box.
  4. Under Seats, tap the plus until it shows how many people fit.
  5. Tap Add.

A boat with 1 seat does not show in the trip. Neither does a boat with Takes bookings switched off.

It says "Pick the boat or class it goes on."

No boat is ticked. A trip you added in the booking setup can show this too.

  1. Under Which boat or class, tap your boat. A green tick shows on it.
  2. Tap Done. The app says "Saved".

A red message says "Add a time the trip leaves, and the days it goes."

The trip has no departure time. Under Leaves at, tap Add a time and add one. Check that a day is on under On these days.

A note says the boat is closed on a day

For example, "Boat 1 is closed on Friday, so the 08:00 trip wouldn't be offered then." That departure is not offered on that day. Under On these days, take that day off. Or change the boat's hours. See Add who gets booked.

Customers see Message to book on the trip

Check these, one at a time:

  • Does your shop have Bookings for more? Trips need it, even with one boat. In Who gets booked, the boat may show Needs Bookings for more. See Bookings for more.
  • Are bookings open, and is Booking online on? See Customers can't book.

Tip

On the day of a trip, open your calendar and tap the trip. Its boat list shows who is booked, and you tick people as they board. See Run a trip day with the boat list. If the weather turns, see Call off a trip.
