What it is
Every item in your shop has its own sheet in Eveyla. Open it to fix a price, add a better photo or say what is in the item. You can also switch on more ways to sell it, like sizes or extras. To add a new item, see Add your first item.
Find it
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap your item's name or photo. Do not tap the button on the right of its row.
The item opens in a sheet that slides up. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
Have many items? To search for one:
- Tap the round … button at the top of the Items page.
- Tap Search items.
- Type the item's name.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. The search box is at the top. The item opens on the right side of the screen.
On a free listing there is no Items tab. You change items on Home, under Items. Type your change. Then tap Save. See Free listing and Storefront.
Every setting
To change something:
- Tap the part you want to change, like the Price tile (the big square button). A panel slides up.
- Make your change.
- Tap Done at the top right of the panel.
A dark message like "Price saved" shows at the bottom. Many changes show Undo in this message. Tap it to put the change back. Under the item, the app says "Tap anything to change it. Changes save as you go."
To close the item, tap the X at the top right. Your changes save when you close. On a computer, the Esc key does the same as the X.
Photos and details
Tap the photo or the name at the top of the sheet. A panel called Photos and details opens.
- Photos: tap the camera tile to add a photo. The first photo has a "Cover" label. To make another photo the cover, tap it, then tap Make it the cover. To take a photo off, tap it, then tap Remove.
- Name: the name customers see. Every item needs a name.
- Description: the box says "What is it? What's in it?" in grey. Write what is inside, the size or how to use it.
- Category: tap one of your categories, or None. To make a new one, tap + New, type a name and tap Add. Food shops see Section instead of Category. See Sort items into categories.
Customers seethe cover photo on your shop page. When they open the item, they can swipe through all your photos. Your description shows under "Details".
Price
Tap the big Price tile on the left. A panel called Price opens.
- Type the price in the big box next to "MVR". Above it, the app says "Price for one", or for example "Price for one kg".
- Or tap −5, −1, +1 or +5 to change the price a little.
- If your shop adds GST, a green line shows the price with GST. For example: "Customers pay MVR 54 with GST 8%". If your prices already include GST, it says, for example, "Includes GST 8% · MVR 46.30 before GST". See Add GST to your prices.
- If the item has sizes, the box is called "Item price · used by sizes without their own". A note says each size can have its own price. Tap the note to change them.
Lower down in the same panel:
- Sale: see Put an item on sale.
- Dollar price: shows only when you set a US dollar rate (how many MVR make one dollar). See Show prices in US dollars.
- What one costs you: only the owner sees it. See Add what an item costs you.
Customers seethe price on your shop page, like "MVR 50". When sizes have different prices, they see "From MVR 40".
Sold per
Sold per is in the Price panel, under the price. Only some shop categories have it, like Groceries, Fish & seafood and Health & pharmacy. It is not there when Packs is on.
It says how you sell the item. You can tap Nothing (picked when you start), each, box, kg, 500g, dozen or pack. Words you used on other items show here too. For your own word, tap + Your own, type it and tap outside the box.
Customers seethe word with your item, like "kg".
On your shop
The tile next to Price says Shown, Sold out or Hidden. Tap it to choose if customers can see and order the item. See Mark an item sold out or hide it.
Stock
The tile at the bottom right shows your stock. It says "Not counted" until you start counting. To keep count of how many you have, see Keep count of your stock.
Feature buttons
The round buttons under the tiles switch on more ways to sell this item. A green button is on. Which buttons you see first depends on your shop category. Tap All to see every feature. There, you can type in the box that says "Find a feature".
- Sizes: each size with its own price. The button may show your own word, like "Colours". See Add sizes and colours.
- Extras: things customers add on. See Let customers add extras.
- Ask: a question customers answer when they order. See Ask customers a question when they order.
- Pre-order: order now, it arrives later. See Sell an item as a pre-order.
- Launch later: a countdown, then it opens. See Launch an item later with a countdown.
- Digital: codes, links and top-ups. See Sell digital items: codes, links and top-ups.
- Combo, Hamper, Set or Bundle (the name depends on your shop): customers fill it with your items. See Make a box customers fill themselves.
- Top of shop: shows the item first on your shop. Tap it once and it turns green. See Choose the order items show in.
- No GST: for items without GST. It shows only when GST is on for your shop. See Add GST to your prices.
- Packs, Codes and Fees come with the Packs and barcodes add-on. See Packs and barcodes.
A small lock with Add-on under a button means it needs an add-on. An add-on is an extra you can add to your Storefront.
Some features cannot be on together. Their button looks pale and says, for example, "Not with sizes". Turn the other feature off first.
To turn a feature off:
- Tap its button. Its panel opens.
- Tap the button at the bottom of the panel, like Turn off extras.
- If the app asks, for example, "Remove all extras from this item?", tap Remove all. To stop, tap Keep it.
Top of shop and No GST have no panel. Tap the button again to turn it off.
Customers see
Near the bottom is a small card called "Customers see". It shows the item the way customers see it. You see the photo, name, price and up to two labels, like "Sale" or "Sold out". The card looks faded when the item is Sold out, Hidden or waiting for its launch. For the whole shop page, see What customers see on your shop page.
More
Tap the round … button at the top of the sheet, next to the X. There you can share the item, copy its settings or delete it. See Share one item, Copy settings from one item to others and Delete an item.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can open and change items. Staff do not see the Items tab. Only the owner sees What one costs you.
This page needs a Storefront. On a free listing, you change items on Home.
Common mistakes
A red message says "Give it a name." or "Type a price, like 25."
The name or the price box is empty. Type the name or price again. Then tap Done. To undo your change instead, close the item. The app says "Or close again to put it back as it was." Close it again.
My photo will not add
The app says what to do. For example: "This photo type can't be used here (often HEIC from an iPhone)." Take a screenshot of the photo and add the screenshot. Or pick a different photo. If it says "That photo is too big", pick a smaller photo or a screenshot. If you see "Wait for the photo to finish uploading", wait a moment before you close.
The camera tile is gone
The item already has as many photos as it can hold. Tap a photo, then tap Remove to make room.
An orange box says "Couldn't load this item’s extras."
Part of the item did not load. Close the item and open it again before you change it. The same goes for other "Couldn't load" messages.
It says "No connection, so this didn't save."
Your changes are still on the screen. When you are back online, tap Done again.
Tip
Use the description to answer the questions customers ask most. For example, the size, the weight or what is inside. Then customers can choose without messaging you first.
