What it is
Seller verification is how Eveyla checks who runs a shop. You send photos of your ID card, or of your business registration. The Eveyla team checks them. When they say yes, a green badge with a white tick shows near your shop name. It tells customers that Eveyla has checked your documents.
Find it
- Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
- Find the first group. It is called Storefront.
- Tap Seller verification. It says Free, takes a minute under it.
A sheet called Seller verification opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.
If you do not see Seller verification, your shop is a free listing. The badge needs a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.
Every setting
Have your ID card with you. To send your documents:
- Tap National ID card or Business registration.
- Type the name on your document in the Name on the document box.
- Type your phone number in the Phone number we can call box.
- Tap a photo box.
- Pick a photo, or take one.
- Do the same for each photo box.
- Tap Submit for review at the bottom.
The sheet now says Under review. Each setting is explained below.
National ID card or Business registration
Pick one of the two cards at the top:
- National ID card (picked when you start): for a person who sells on their own, or a home shop. The card says "Sole traders, home shops".
- Business registration: for a business with a registration certificate. The card says "Registered businesses". You add one more photo, of your certificate.
The picked card is green.
Name on the document
Type your name exactly as it is on your ID card or certificate. The box says "Exactly as it appears" in grey.
Phone number we can call
The box starts with +960. Type the rest of your number after it. Use a number you will answer. The app says: "We may call this number to check it is really you."
Photos
Next to Photos, a counter shows how many you added, like "1 of 3". With Business registration, it says "of 4". It turns green when every photo is in.
- The certificate (only for Business registration): a photo or a PDF (a page you can print) of your registration certificate. The box says "Clear and easy to read".
- ID front: the front of your ID card. The box says "All four corners".
- ID back: the back of your ID card. The box says "All four corners".
- You holding your ID: a photo of you holding your ID card. The box says "Your face and the card, both clear" and Opens camera. On a phone, tapping it opens the camera.
After you add a photo, its box turns green and shows the file name. To change a photo, tap the box again.
Under the photos, the app says: "Seen only by the Eveyla team. Never shown on your shop."
Submit for review
The button stays grey until the name, the phone number and every photo are in. Then tap it.
Under review
After you send, the sheet shows a clock and "Under review". Under it are the document you picked and the name, like "National ID card · Aisha Ahmed". It says the answer usually comes within a day.
In Settings, the line under Seller verification now says Under review. Check this line later to see the answer.
You're verified
When Eveyla says yes, the line under Seller verification says Verified seller. Its icon becomes the green badge.
Tap Seller verification to see "You're verified" and "The badge now shows on your shop, beside your name. Buyers can tap it to see what it means."
Action needed
If Eveyla could not check your documents, the line under Seller verification says Action needed.
- Tap Seller verification.
- Read the reason in red under "Couldn't verify this one". The app also says: "Take clearer photos with everything visible, then send them again."
- Tap National ID card or Business registration. The sheet starts on National ID card again.
- Check the name in Name on the document. It is already filled in.
- Type your phone number again.
- Tap a photo box.
- Pick a photo, or take one.
- Do the same for each photo box.
- Tap Submit for review.
What customers see
Customers seethe green badge near your shop name, at the top of your shop page.
On some looks, the badge is on a button that says Verified seller or Verified. On the Market look, a Verified seller line with How it works is near the top. On the Feast look, the Shop info part says "Identity checked by Eveyla", with How it works under it. For more about the top of your shop page, see What customers see on your shop page.
When customers tap one of these, a sheet called Verified seller opens. It says "Your order is recorded. Your receipt is real. You can track it." in English and in Dhivehi. Then it lists:
- "Verified seller": "Eveyla has checked this seller's documents."
- "Recorded": "Numbered, timed, and saved with Eveyla, not lost in a chat."
- "Real receipt": "Scan it any time. It shows exactly what Eveyla recorded."
- "Trackable": "Live status from placed to delivered. No app needed."
A note under it says: "Payment goes directly to the shop. Eveyla records orders and checks documents but does not hold money or give refunds." The last line says: "Ratings come from delivered orders only. Problem with an order? Tell Eveyla from your tracking page." Customers close the sheet with Got it.
In the Eveyla shop list, the badge also shows next to your shop name. Customers can tap Verified above the list of shops to see only verified shops. See Your shop in the Eveyla shop list.
Who can use it
Only the shop owner can send documents. Senior managers, managers and staff do not see Settings.
The badge needs a Storefront. Sending your documents is free. The row says "Free, takes a minute".
Common mistakes
Submit for review stays grey
Something is missing. Check that you typed your name and your full phone number. Check that the photo counter says "3 of 3", or "4 of 4" for Business registration.
A red message says the file is over 2MB
The app says: "That file is over 2MB. Try a smaller photo." The photo is too big. Try a smaller one. The card must still be clear and easy to read.
A red message says I already have a request under review
The app says: "You already have a request under review." You already sent your documents. Close the sheet. The line under Seller verification says Under review. Wait for Eveyla's answer.
Tip
Take the ID photos in good light, on a plain table. Make sure all four corners of the card show and nothing shines on it. Clear photos save you from sending them again.
