Launch an item later with a countdown
Show a new item with a countdown, and open ordering at the time you pick.

What it is
Launch later is for a new item you want customers to wait for. For example, a new cake flavour that goes on sale on Friday at 8 pm. Until then, customers see the item with a countdown, but they cannot order it. At the time you pick, ordering opens by itself. Eveyla calls this a drop.
Find it
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the item's name or photo, not the button on the right of its row.
- Tap Launch later in the round buttons under the tiles.
If you do not see Launch later, tap All. Then tap Launch later in the list.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left.
Every setting
To launch an item later:
- Tap Launch later. A panel called Launch later opens. The app says: "Your shop shows a countdown. Ordering opens by itself at the time you pick."
- Under Day, tap Today, Tomorrow or Pick a day.
- Under Time, tap 12 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm or Pick a time.
- Check the dark card. It says what customers see, like "Opens Fri 30 Oct, 8:00 pm".
- Tap Done at the top right.
The Launch later button is now green.
Day
You have three choices:
- Today
- Tomorrow (picked when you start)
- Pick a day: opens a calendar. You can pick a day up to 60 days ahead. The button then shows the day, like "Fri 30 Oct".
Time
You have four choices:
- 12 pm
- 6 pm
- 8 pm (picked when you start)
- Pick a time: choose any time. The button then shows it, like "7:30 pm".
Under the dark card, the app says: "Maldives time. The countdown shows on your shop in the 7 days before."
While the item waits
In the item, the tile next to Price turns dark. It shows the day and time, like "Opens Fri" and "At 8:00 pm". Tap it to change the launch.
On your Items page, the button on the right of the item shows the launch time. For example, "Drops Fri 8:00 pm".
Customers seethe item with a dark label, like "Drops in 2d 4h". It has a grey Soon button instead of Add. In the item, they see "Drops in", the date and a live countdown. The button at the bottom is grey and says "Opens Fri 30 Oct, 8:00 pm".
Customers seein the 7 days before, a dark banner (a coloured box) near the top of your shop page. It says "New drop", the item name and the date. A countdown shows days, hours, mins and secs. A See the drop button opens the item. With more than one drop, the banner says "3 new drops" and lists them. It also says "Dropping together" or "Coming soon".
When the countdown ends, the banner says "Opening now". Then customers can order. For a while after that, the banner turns green and says "Out now", with an Order button.
Checkout is the last page, where customers place the order. Customers who pay by transfer or PayPal for a new drop see a note there. It starts "Selling fast." It says they can ask your shop for a refund if the item sells out first. If that happens, give their money back. See Cancel or refund an order.
Open this drop now?
To open the item early, use the Items page:
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the dark "Drops Fri 8:00 pm" button on the right of the item. A small menu opens.
- Tap Shown.
- A sheet called Open this drop now? opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) It says: "It is set to open Fri 30 Oct, 8:00 pm. Opening now cancels the countdown."
- Tap Open now.
The countdown goes away, and customers can order at once. To leave it as it is, tap Keep closed.
On a computer, the button is in the Available column.
Turn off launch later
- At the bottom of the panel, tap Turn off launch later. The countdown goes away.
- Check the tile next to Price. If it says Shown, you are done. If it says Sold out, tap it.
- Tap Shown.
- Tap Done at the top right.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can set a launch. Staff do not see the Items tab.
Launch later needs a Storefront. On a free listing there is no Items tab.
Common mistakes
A red message says "Pick a time later than now."
The time you picked has already passed. For example, you picked Today and 12 pm, but it is now 3 pm. Pick a later time, or tap Tomorrow. Then tap Done.
A red message says "Pick a day within the next 60 days."
The day is too far away. Pick a day in the next 60 days.
The Launch later button is pale and says "Not with pre-order"
Launch later cannot be on together with Pre-order or a box (like Hamper or Combo). The pale words name the one that is on. Tap the button the pale words name, like Pre-order. At the bottom of its panel, tap the button that turns it off, like Turn off pre-order. Then tap Launch later again.
I cannot see the countdown banner on my shop
The banner shows only in the 7 days before the launch. Before that, customers still see "Drops in" on the item.
Is the launch less than 7 days away? If you use the section builder, check that Notices is switched on. The banner is part of it. See Section builder: design your shop page.
Tip
Share the item before it opens. Customers who open the link see the countdown and can come back on time. See Share one item.
