What it is
Some items come in more than one kind. A cake comes in Small and Large. A dress comes in Red and Blue. A phone comes in two colours and two storage sizes. With sizes, all of them stay in one item. Customers pick the one they want before it goes in their basket.
Find it
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the item's name or photo, not the button on the right of its row.
- Tap Sizes in the round buttons under the tiles. A panel called Sizes opens.
If you do not see Sizes, tap All. Then tap Sizes in the list.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. The item opens on the right.
The button uses your word. It may say Flavours or Colours, or Choices for two lists. When it is on, it is green and shows how many you have.
Is the button pale, with "Not with packs" or "Not with combo" under it? See "The Sizes button is pale" in Common mistakes below.
Every setting
The panel starts with How do customers choose? You can tap:
- Sizes (picked when you start): one list, like Small and Large.
- Colours: each colour also gets a colour dot and its own photo.
- Two lists: like Colour and Storage. Every mix, like Blue and 128GB, gets its own price and count.
Add sizes
- Under What do you call these?, tap a word, like Size or Flavour.
- Tap Add the first size. A panel called New size opens.
- Type the name in the Name box. For example, Small.
- Type the price in the Price box. Leave it empty to use the item's price.
- Tap Done at the top right. You are back in Sizes.
- Tap Add a size for the next one. Do steps 3 to 5 again.
- When all your sizes are in, tap Done. The item saves.
To use your own word in step 1, tap + Your own and type it. The app then uses your word. With Flavour, the button says Flavours, and customers see "Pick a flavour".
Each size in the list shows its price. Under its name, it may say "Uses the item price", "3 left" or "Sold out". You can add up to 20 sizes.
Under the list, the app shows what customers see. It says "The price changes to the one they pick. It doesn't add up."
Customers see"Pick a size" with a Required label. Each size shows its price. The button says "Pick a size" until they tap one. On your shop page, the item shows "From MVR 40" when the sizes have different prices.
One size
Tap a size in the list to change it. The panel's title is the size's name.
- Name: the name customers see. The box shows "e.g. Small, 500 g, 6 pack" in grey.
- Price: the price of this size. When the box is empty, the app says "Empty, so it uses the item price, MVR 50." If you type a price, it says how different it is, like "MVR 10 more than the item price."
- Count this size: off when you start. It says "Sells until you switch it off". Turn it on to count how many you have. It then says "Sells out on its own at 0". Tap − or +, or type the number.
- Warn me at: shows when you count. It starts at Off. Tap + to pick a number. At that count or lower, the "3 left" that customers see turns orange. See Keep count of your stock.
- Remove this size: tap it, then tap Remove. Past orders keep it on their receipts. To keep the size, tap Keep it.
If you keep stock in more than one place, the app says "Counted at each place. Change it in Stock." See Keep stock in more than one place.
Customers see"Sold out" on a size at 0, and they cannot pick it. The other sizes keep selling. When only a few are left, they see how many, like "3 left".
Colours
- Under How do customers choose?, tap Colours. A panel called Colour opens.
- Type a colour in the box that says "Add a colour, like Blue".
- Tap Add. The colour shows in the list. The app picks a colour dot from its name.
- Add each colour the same way.
- Tap Next: prices and counts. A panel called Every colour opens. See "Every colour and Every mix" below.
If the item already had sizes, each size becomes a colour.
Tap Edit next to a colour to change it. Tap Done next to it to close it.
- Colour dot: the app picks it from the name. Tap another dot, or the rainbow circle for any colour.
- Photo: tap one of the item's photos, or the camera tile to add one. The app says "Customers see this photo when they pick this colour."
- Remove Blue: tap it, then tap Remove. The colour leaves your shop.
If the item has photos that no colour uses yet, you see Match photos to colours. It shows each of those photos next to a colour. Check each pair. Then tap Use these 3 photos (or Use this photo).
Customers seesmall colour dots next to the price on your shop page. When they open the item, they tap a round colour dot. The photo changes to that colour's photo. A colour that has run out is crossed out.
Two lists
- Under How do customers choose?, tap Two lists. A panel called Colour opens.
- Add your colours, as in Colours above.
- Tap Next: add Storage. A panel called Storage opens.
- Type a choice in the box that says "Add one, like 1TB".
- Tap Add. Add each choice the same way.
- Tap Next: prices and counts. A panel called Every mix opens.
The app makes every mix for you. For example, 2 colours and 2 storage sizes make 4 mixes. The app says "2 × 2 = 4 mixes." An item can have up to 60 mixes.
Did the item already have sizes or colours? Then they become the first list. The Storage panel opens straight away. Sizes that used the word Size go in a list called Colour. You can rename it, as shown below.
Customers seethe colour dots, then a box for each storage size with its price. A box says "Sold out" or "Not sold" when they cannot pick it. The button says "Pick storage" until they pick both.
The panel with colours or two lists
After you add colours, tap Done at the top right to go back. The panel is now called Colours (or Choices with two lists). It shows a card for each list. Tap a card to change that list.
To rename a list, tap its card. Then tap a word under What do customers pick?, like Size or Material. Or tap + Your own and type one.
An orange line on a card, like "No photos picked yet. Tap to match them", tells you what is missing.
Below the cards is the row Every colour (Every mix for two lists). It shows how many are on sale, in stock and counted. Tap it to set prices and counts.
Every colour and Every mix
- Count stock: on when you start, so a colour or mix sells out at 0. If your sizes were not counted, it starts off. When it is off, the app says "Off. Every colour takes orders." If you have counts, turning it off asks "Stop counting stock?" Tap Stop counting to clear your counts, or Keep counting.
- Price: one price for every colour. With two lists, it is Price by storage: one price for each storage size. Every colour follows it. When prices differ, the box says "Mixed".
- Count each one: tap − or + next to each colour or mix to set how many you have. When Count stock is off, this part is called What you sell. If some are not counted, tap Count all, or Count it next to one.
- When a colour runs out: tap Show sold out or Take pre-orders. Show sold out is picked when you start. With two lists, this is called When a mix runs out. You see it only while Count stock is on.
With Take pre-orders, the app says "Customers still order it and you order it in. They see when it arrives." Then:
- Tap − or + to set the fewest and most days. It starts at 7 to 14. The app says "Days until it reaches them, counted from the order."
- Tap Pay later (picked when you start), 25% now, 50% now or Full now. To ask for money now, your shop needs a bank account or PayPal. See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.
Customers see"Pre-order this one" when they pick a colour or mix that has run out. It says when it arrives. With two lists, the boxes also say "Pre-order".
If the whole item is a pre-order, the app says "This item is a pre-order, so every mix is. Turn off Pre-order to choose per mix." See Sell an item as a pre-order.
Under each colour or mix, you see its price. It may also say "sold out", "pre-order" or "not counted". "2 pre-ordered" means customers ordered 2 that you still need to get.
To give one colour or mix its own price or count:
- Tap its name in Every colour (or Every mix). Its own panel opens.
- Type a new price in the Price box, or change its count.
- Tap Done. You are back in Colours (or Choices).
To stop selling one colour or mix:
- Tap its name in Every colour (or Every mix).
- Tap Stop selling this mix at the bottom.
- Tap Remove. You are back in Colours (or Choices).
In Every colour (or Every mix), it now says "Not sold". To sell it again, tap Sell it next to it.
When you are finished, tap Done until the panel closes. The item saves.
Turn sizes off
- In the Sizes panel, tap Turn off sizes · back to one price at the bottom.
- Tap Remove all.
The item goes back to one price. Past orders keep the sizes on their receipts. The button uses your word, like Turn off flavours · back to one price.
With colours or two lists, go back to sizes first:
- Under How do customers choose?, tap Sizes. A red box opens under it.
- Tap Back to sizes. Each colour or mix stays as a size, with its price and count.
- Tap the button at the bottom that starts with Turn off. It uses your word, like Turn off colours · back to one price.
- Tap Remove all.
More ways to set up choices
- One item for each colour or flavour already? Join them into one item with choices. See Combine or merge items.
- With the Packs and barcodes add-on, you may see "Are these packs of one thing, like a single and a 6 pack? Sell them as packs so they share one count." Tap it to turn your sizes into packs. See Packs and barcodes.
- To sell these items at the Counter (the POS tab), see Sell items with sizes, extras or questions at the Counter.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can add sizes and colours. Staff do not see the Items tab.
Sizes and colours need a Storefront.
Common mistakes
My new colours show Sold out
New colours and mixes start at 0 in stock. The app says "New ones start at 0 in stock." Open Every colour (or Every mix). Tap + next to each one. If you do not count stock, turn off Count stock instead.
A red message shows when I tap Done
Each message says what to fix:
- "Give every choice a name." A size says "Untitled". Tap it and type a name.
- "You have two called "Small". Names must be different." Rename one of them.
- "Type how many "Small" you have." Count this size is on, but the box is empty. Type a number, or turn the switch off.
- "Add at least one to Storage, like 256GB." A list is empty. Open that list and add a choice.
I cannot go from Two lists back to Colours
The app says "Leave one storage first (remove the others in that list), so no mixes merge." Remove choices from the second list until only one is left:
- Tap the Storage card.
- Tap Edit next to a choice you do not need.
- Tap Remove 512GB. It shows the choice's name.
- Tap Remove.
- Do steps 2 to 4 until one choice is left.
- Tap Done at the top right to go back.
- Under How do customers choose?, tap Colours.
The Sizes button is pale, or it says "Turn off Packs first"
Sizes cannot be on together with Packs or a box. The pale words, like "Not with packs" or "Not with combo", name the one that is on. Open that feature. Turn it off with the button at the bottom of its panel. Then tap Sizes again.
Tip
Add a photo for each colour to the item first. See Change an item's name, photos, price or details. Then open the Colour list and tap Use these 3 photos. When customers tap a colour, they see exactly what they get.
