What it is

Each thing you sell is an item, like a cake or a T-shirt. When you add an item, customers can see it on your shop page and order it. You can add more details later, like sizes or stock.

Find it

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
The bar at the bottom of the app, with the Items tab marked.

On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. To learn the rest of the page, see Find your way around the Items page.

If you do not see Items, your shop may be a free listing. A free listing can show up to 5 items. You add them on Home. See Free listing and Storefront. Staff do not see Items at all.

When your shop has no items yet, other places help you start:

Every setting

To add an item:

  1. On the Items page, tap Add your first item in the middle of the page. If you already have items, tap the green Add items button at the top.
  2. A page called Add items may open. If it does, tap Add one by hand at the bottom. If you already have items, tap One at a time at the top instead.
  3. A sheet for your new item slides up. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) The name box at the top says "Product name" in grey. Food shops see "Dish name".
  4. Type the name of your item. For example, Chocolate cake.
  5. Tap the big Price tile (a big square button). It says "Tap to set a price".
  6. Type the price. For example, 25 for MVR 25.
  7. Tap Done at the top right.
  8. Tap Add to my shop at the bottom.

The app says "Added to your shop". Your item is now on your shop page. The sheet stays open, so you can add more details. Tap the X at the top right to close it.

Customers see

your new item on your shop page, ready to order.

On a computer, the green button at the top says Add item. The item sheet opens on the right side of the screen.

Add items

This page opens when you tap Add items or Add your first item. It says "One at a time, or a whole list at once".

  • One at a time or Add one by hand: adds one item. It says Free. It does not use Grow credits.
  • Photos, Paste a list and A spreadsheet: add many items at once. Photos and Paste a list use Grow credits. The number on the right says how many. A spreadsheet says Usually free. See Add many items from photos and Add items from a list or spreadsheet.

If you already have items, these three are under Or read many at once (in capital letters).

The orange number at the top right is how many Grow credits you have. See Grow credits.

With no credits, an orange card says "No credits for reading. Adding items one by one is always free." It may also say the day your free credits come back. The owner also sees Top up credits.

Did you start a list on this phone and not finish it? Tap Continue your list at the top. See Add items from a list or spreadsheet.

At the bottom, it says "You check everything first". When you add many items, you see them all before they go in your shop.

To leave without adding, tap the X at the top left.

Some shops do not see this page. For them, Add items opens the new item sheet straight away.

Name

Type what customers call the item. The orange line at the bottom says "Give it a name to finish" until you type one.

Customers see

the name on your shop page and in their basket.

Price

The Price tile has an orange ring until you set a price. Tap it. A panel called Price opens. Type the price in the big box next to MVR. Or tap −5, −1, +1 or +5. Then tap Done.

The orange line at the bottom says "Add a price to finish" until you set one. To add a sale price or a unit like kg, see Change an item's name, photos, price or details.

Add photos

The square tile with a camera, at the top left, adds a photo. A photo is not needed, but it helps customers choose.

  1. Tap the camera tile. A panel called Photos and details opens.
  2. Under Photos, tap the tile with the camera.
  3. Pick a photo, or take one.
  4. Wait until the photo shows. The first photo says Cover.
  5. Tap Done.

You can also add a description here. See Change an item's name, photos, price or details.

Customers see

the cover photo on your shop page.

Category

The line under the name shows the item's category, like "Cakes · tap the camera for photos". A category is a group of items. The item goes in your first category. If you tapped + Add on a category's card, it goes in that one. If you have no categories, it says "No category". Food shops see "No section".

To pick a different one, tap the camera tile. Under Category, tap the one you want. Food shops see Section. See Sort items into categories.

On your shop and Stock

A new item starts as Shown: "Customers can order". The Stock tile says "Not counted". You can change these later. See Mark an item sold out or hide it and Keep count of your stock.

The round buttons below add more, like sizes or extras. You do not need them for your first item.

Customers see

Under the round buttons, a small card shows how your item will look to customers. Before you add it, it says "Not on your shop yet".

Add to my shop

This green button at the bottom adds the item to your shop. It stays pale until the item has a name and a price. It also stays pale while a photo is still going in. While it works, it says "Adding…".

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can add items. Staff do not see the Items tab.

The Items page comes with a Storefront. Adding items one at a time is free. Reading photos or a pasted list uses Grow credits.

Common mistakes

Add to my shop is pale and does not work

Read the orange line above the button. "Give it a name to finish" means you need to type a name. "Add a price to finish" means you need to tap Price and type a price. If you added a photo, wait until it shows.

It says "Not added yet"

The full message is "Not added yet. Tap Add to my shop, or close again to throw it away." You tapped the X before adding the item. Tap Add to my shop to keep it.

My photo will not go in

A red message says what is wrong:

  • "This photo type can't be used here (often HEIC from an iPhone)." Take a screenshot of the photo. Then add the screenshot.
  • "That photo is too big." Pick a smaller photo, or add a screenshot of it.
  • "No connection, so the photo didn't upload." Wait until you have internet. Then try again.
  • "Wait for the photo to finish uploading." You tapped the X while the photo was still going in. Wait until it shows.

Photos and Paste a list are grey

They say "Needs a credit". You have no Grow credits for reading. Tap One at a time or Add one by hand instead. It is always free.

It says "No connection, so this didn't save"

Your item was not added. The message shows in a red box on a panel. What you typed is still there.

  1. Wait until you have internet.
  2. Tap Done at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to my shop again.

Tip

Add your best seller first, with a clear photo. Then share your shop link. See Tips: photos, names and prices.
