Mark an item sold out or hide it
Stop customers from ordering an item for a while, then bring it back when you are ready.

What it is
Every item is Shown, Sold out or Hidden. A new item starts as Shown.
- Shown: customers can see the item and order it.
- Sold out: customers still see it, greyed out, but cannot order it. Use it when something runs out.
- Hidden: customers cannot see it at all. Use it for items you only sell at the Counter (the POS tab). Or use it for items that are off for a long time.
Find it
The quickest way is the button on each item's row:
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Find the item. On the right of its row is a button that says Shown, Sold out or Hidden.
Under the Items title, the app says "tap the green button to mark one sold out".
You can also open the item:
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the item's name or photo.
- Tap the tile next to Price. It says Shown, Sold out or Hidden. A panel called On your shop opens.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. The button is in the Available column.

Every setting
To mark an item sold out:
- Tap the green Shown button on the item's row. A small menu opens.
- Tap Sold out.
The button now says Sold out in grey, and the row looks faded. It stays Sold out until you change it. To bring the item back, tap the button again, then tap Shown.
In the menu, each choice has a line under it. A green tick shows next to the one picked now.
- Shown: "Customers can order it"
- Sold out: "Visible, can’t be ordered"
- Hidden: "Off your shop, still at Counter"
In the On your shop panel, the app says "Choose where customers can find it." Tap a choice. Then tap Done at the top right.
Food shops also see a grey line under the item's name on the Items page: "Sold out today" or "Hidden from your shop".
Shown
The panel says "Customers can see it and order it." In the item, the tile is green and says "Customers can order". On the Items page, the button is green with a tick.
Customers seethe item with its price and a button to add it to their basket.
Do you count your stock? When the count gets to 0, customers see the item as sold out. This happens even when it is Shown. See Keep count of your stock.
Sold out
The panel says "Customers see it greyed out and can’t order it." In the item, the tile says "Customers can’t order".
Customers seethe item greyed out, with a "Sold out" label. On some shop looks (the designs for your shop page), the label says "Out". If they can open it, they see "This item is unavailable right now." They cannot add it to their basket.
Hidden
The panel says "Customers can’t see it anywhere. You can still sell it at the Counter." In the item, the tile says "Counter only". On the Items page, the button says Hidden and has a dashed line around it.

At the Counter
On the Counter, you can still sell sold-out and hidden items. They are in two groups at the bottom of the Counter. One says, for example, "2 sold out" and "Still sellable at the counter". The other says "3 hidden" and "Not on your shop. Sell them here." See Make a sale at the Counter.
Items that launch later
When Launch later is on, the button on the Items page shows the launch time, like "Drops Fri 8:00 pm". A drop is an item that opens at a set time. If you tap the button and pick Shown, the app asks "Open this drop now?". Tap Open now to open it right away, or Keep closed. In the item, the tile says "Opens" and the day instead. Tapping it opens Launch later, not On your shop. See Launch an item later with a countdown.
Many items at once
To change many items together, tap Select on the Items page. Pick the items. Then tap Show/hide at the bottom. See Change many items at once.
Grow
Grow is your shop assistant in Eveyla. For the owner, its Today list may show a card like "Chocolate cake is sold out and still showing". Tap Hide it to hide it. This uses Grow credits. See Grow: today's moves.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can change it. Staff do not see the Items tab.
It needs a Storefront.
Common mistakes
I picked Shown, but customers still see Sold out
The item's stock count is 0. Open the item. The tile at the bottom right says "0" and "sold out". Add new stock to the count. See Add new stock and fix a count.
My item is gone from my shop page
It is Hidden. Tap its button on the Items page. Then tap Shown. If it still does not show, see An item isn't showing in my shop.
The button went back after I tapped it
The change did not save. A red message shows for a moment at the top of the list. Check your internet and try again.
Tip
When an item runs out for a day, mark it Sold out, not Hidden. Customers still see that you sell it. On some shop looks, they can tap a button to ask you when it is back.
