What it is

Copy settings takes the settings of one item and puts them on the items you pick. For example, you set up extras and a stock alert on one cake. Then you copy them to every cake. The name, photos and price of each item do not change. You can start from your list, or from the item you copy from.

Find it

From your list:

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Select at the top.
  3. Tap each item that should get the settings.
  4. Tap More at the bottom.
  5. Tap Copy settings from an item. It is under Tidy up.

From the item you copy from:

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap the name or photo of the item you copy from. The item opens.
  3. Tap the round … button at the top right, next to the X.
  4. Tap Copy settings to other items.

You see Copy settings to other items only when your shop has 2 or more items. For a new item, tap Add to my shop first. Close the item with the X. Then tap it again in your list. Now the round … button has Copy settings to other items.

On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left.

Every setting

To copy from your list:

  1. In the sheet Copy settings from, tap the item you copy from. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  2. In the sheet What to copy, tap each setting you want. A green tick shows.
  3. Check the list of items at the bottom.
  4. Tap Copy to 3 items at the bottom.

To copy from an item:

  1. Tap Copy settings to other items. The item saves and your list opens. The top says "Copy to which items?".
  2. Tap each item that should get the settings. You can also tap a group in the Pick row, or All 5 on a category card.
  3. Tap Next: copy to 3 items at the bottom.
  4. In the sheet What to copy, tap each setting you want.
  5. Tap Copy to 3 items at the bottom. You are back in your list.
  6. Tap the X at the top left to finish.

The message says, for example, "Settings from Chocolate cake copied to 3 items". Tap Undo on it within a few seconds to put things back.

On a computer, the bar at the top says "Copy from Chocolate cake". Click Next: choose what to copy. Click Cancel to stop.

Copy settings from

This sheet lists your other items. It says "Onto 3 picked items. Name, photos and price stay their own."

Each item shows what it has, like "2 extras · Alert at 5 · Pre-order". It says "Nothing to copy" when it has none. Items with the most settings are at the top.

To find an item, type its name in the Find an item box. If nothing matches, it says "No other items match."

Copy to which items?

This is your list, when you start from an item. A card with a green edge at the top says "From Chocolate cake" and "Its settings go to the items you pick". Under the title, it says "3 picked". The button at the bottom says Pick the items to copy to until you tick one.

The button never counts the item you copy from. If you tick it too, the top may say "5 picked". The button then says Next: copy to 4 items.

What to copy

The card at the top shows the item you copy from, and "to 3 items". Started from your list? Tap the arrow on the left of the card to pick a different item.

Under Tick what to copy, you see only the settings this item has. Tap a setting to tick it or untick it.

  • Extras: its groups of extras, like "Toppings · Cheese +MVR 10, Egg". Ticked when you start. See Let customers add extras.
  • Sizes: its sizes and prices, like "Small MVR 20 · Large MVR 30". It may use the item's own word instead, like "Flavours". See Add sizes and colours.
  • Low stock alert: like "Warn at 5". Ticked when you start.
  • Pre-order: like "3 to 7 days · pay later". Ticked when you start. See Sell an item as a pre-order.
  • Top of shop: "Shown first on your shop".
  • Sold per: the item's unit, like "kg".
  • No GST: "Zero-rated". It shows only when your shop adds GST.
  • Category: the item's category. The other items move into it.

With Sizes ticked, the app says: "Sizes go only onto items without sizes. New sizes start at 0 in stock."

Customers see

the copied extras, sizes and pre-order on each item. With Category, the items move to that category on your shop page.

Items that have extras already

This shows when Extras is ticked and some of your items have extras of their own.

  • Add to theirs (picked when you start): they keep their own extras and get the new ones. A group with the same name is not added twice.
  • Replace theirs: their own extras are taken off, and they get this item's extras.

Every item changes

This list shows what will happen to each item. Its title says "Every item changes", or "2 of 3 change".

  • Green words show the changes, like "+ Toppings · Alert at 5".
  • "Already the same" means nothing changes on that item.
  • Grey notes tell you more. "Has Toppings already" means that group is not added again. "not counted yet" means the alert is copied, but the item does not count stock.
  • Orange "Skipped:" says what does not fit, and why. For example: "has its own sizes", "packs or a box, no sizes", "digital, no pre-order" or "launches later".

The app says "You can undo for a few seconds after."

Copy to 3 items

The green button at the bottom. It is grey until you tick at least one setting. When some parts did not fit, the message adds a line like "2 parts skipped where it didn’t fit".

If it says Pick items to copy to, no other item is ticked yet. Close the sheet with the X at the top right. Then tick the items first.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can copy settings. Staff do not see the Items tab.

It comes with a Storefront.

Common mistakes

It says "Chocolate cake has nothing to copy yet. Pick another item."

That item has no extras, sizes, stock alert or other settings to copy. If you started from your list, tap the arrow on the left of the card. Then pick another item.

If you started from the item, there is no arrow. Tap the X at the top right to close the sheet. Tap the X at the top left to stop copying. Then open a different item, or set up this one first. See Change an item's name, photos, price or details.

Some items say Skipped

That part does not fit those items. Sizes only go onto items with no sizes, packs or box. Pre-order does not go onto digital items or items that launch later. The other parts are still copied.

I cannot find Copy settings to other items

Your shop needs 2 or more items. For a new item, tap Add to my shop first. Close the item with the X. Then open it again from your list, and tap the round … button.

I copied to the wrong items

Tap Undo on the message right away. It only stays for a few seconds.

It says "Couldn’t copy. Nothing changed."

Nothing was saved. You may also see "No connection. Nothing changed." Check your internet and tap Copy to 3 items again.

Tip

Set up one item in each category the way you want it. Open that item. Tap the round … button. Then tap Copy settings to other items. Tap All 5 on its category card. The button says Next: copy to 4 items, because the item you copy from is left out. The whole category matches in a few taps.
