What it is

Select lets you tick many items and change them together. You can mark them sold out, change their prices or put them on sale. You can move them to another category (a group of items, like Cakes). You can also set stock, pre-order and more. Use it at the end of the day, when prices go up, or when you tidy your list.

Find it

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Select at the top, next to the green Add items button.

You can also press and hold any item for a moment. Or tap the round button with three dots (⋯) next to Select. Then tap Select items.

On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. Click Select in the row of buttons above your list.

If you do not see Items, your shop may be a free listing. See Free listing and Storefront.

Every setting

To change many items:

  1. Tap each item you want to change. A green tick shows on the left of each one.
  2. Tap a button at the bottom: Show/hide, Price, Move or More. A sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  3. Make your change in the sheet.

A message shows at the bottom, like "3 items marked sold out". Most messages have an Undo button. Tap it within a few seconds to put things back.

Your items stay ticked, so you can make another change. When you are done, tap the X at the top left. The bar at the bottom comes back.

On a computer, the buttons are in a bar with a green edge at the top: Show or hide, Price, Move, Stock, More and Delete. Click Done (or press Esc) when you finish. Hold Shift and click to tick every item between two items.

Select items

This is the top of the screen while you pick. It says Select items, or "3 selected" once you tick some. Under it, a line says what they are now, like "2 shown · 1 sold out".

  • The round search button opens a "Search to pick" box. Items you ticked stay ticked while you search. The app says, for example, "2 more items selected outside this search".
  • All 12 ticks every item on the screen. Then it says Clear.
  • All 5 on a category card ticks every item in that category. When only some are ticked, it says "2 of 5".
  • Rows show a Sold out or Hidden tag.

Until you tick something, the bottom says "Tap items to pick them".

Pick

This row of round buttons is under the title at the top. It starts with the word Pick. Tap one to tick a whole group. Tap it again to untick them. Each button shows how many items it has. Only groups with items show:

  • Sold out and Hidden
  • Low stock: items with only a few left
  • Out of stock: items you count that have none left
  • No photo, On sale and Top of shop

Sometimes the items you tick look like one item. Then a dark note may show above the buttons at the bottom: "These 3 look like one item". See Combine or merge items.

Show/hide

The sheet Show or hide has a card called Right now. It shows a coloured bar with counts under it, like "2 shown" and "1 sold out". Under Make them all, tap one big button:

  • Shown: "Customers can order them"
  • Sold out: "Still on your shop, can’t be ordered"
  • Hidden: "Off your shop, still at the Counter"

The Counter (the POS tab) is where you sell to customers in your shop.

Each button says how many will change, like "2 will change", or "All already". One tap changes them. For what customers see, see Mark an item sold out or hide it.

If an item counts stock and has 0, the app says, for example, "Chocolate cake has 0 in stock, so customers still see Sold out." Tap Count stock in that note to open Stock and count it.

An item set to launch later stays closed when you tap Shown. The message says "Chocolate cake waits for its drop time". See Launch an item later with a countdown.

Price

The sheet is called "Price for 3 items". It has two tabs at the top: Change price (picked when you start) and Put on sale.

To change prices:

  1. Tap Raise or Lower. Raise is picked when you start.
  2. Tap % or MVR. With %, 10 means 10% of each price. With MVR, 10 means MVR 10. % is picked when you start.
  3. Type how much in the box. It starts at 10. Or tap a quick button: 5%, 10%, 15% or 20%. With MVR, they say MVR 1, MVR 5, MVR 10 and MVR 20.
  4. Under Round new prices, tap Whole MVR (no cents), To 5 (prices end in 0 or 5) or Exact (keeps the cents). Whole MVR is picked when you start.
  5. Check the list under New prices. Each item shows the old price crossed out and the new price.
  6. Tap Change 3 prices at the bottom.

Under an item, the list may say:

  • "2 sizes move too": sizes with their own price change too.
  • "3 packs follow": packs that follow the item's price change too.
  • "Sale price stays MVR 40", or "Sale ends, new price is lower" when the new price is at or below the sale price.

If you lower prices too much, the app says "That takes a price to 0 or less. Lower by less." Type a smaller amount.

The message says, for example, "3 prices raised by 10%".

On a computer, the sheet opens on the right. Your list shows the new prices while it is open.

Put on sale

  1. Tap Put on sale at the top of the Price sheet.
  2. Under Take off, tap 10% off, 15% off, 20% off, 25% off or 30% off. 20% off is picked when you start.
  3. Under Ends, tap Tonight, Sunday, In 7 days, Pick a day or No end. Sunday is picked when you start.
  4. If you tapped Pick a day, choose the last day in the box under it.
  5. Check the list under Sale prices.
  6. Tap Put 3 items on sale at the bottom.

The line under Ends says when the sale stops, like "Ends Sun 18 Oct, 11:59 pm, Maldives time". With No end, it says "Runs until you end it". Sale prices follow the Round new prices choice on the Change price tab.

Some items are skipped, with a line like "Skipped · Price is 0". For "Skipped · Too small to round down", take off more, or pick Exact under Round new prices. Items with sizes are skipped too. Put them on sale from their own page. See Put an item on sale. If every item is skipped, the button says Nothing to put on sale.

If a ticked item has a sale price, the card End the sale shows. It says "2 items on sale now" or "Clear old sale prices". Tap it to end the sale on all of them.

Customers see

the sale price, the usual price crossed out and a "Sale" tag until the sale ends.

Move

The sheet "Move 3 items" says "Pick where they go". Each category shows how many items it has, like "8 items · 2 of these here now".

  • Tap a category to move the items there.
  • Or tap New category. Type a name in the "Category name" box. Tap Move here.
  • Or tap Uncategorised to take them out of every category. These items are "Shown last on your shop".

Their order on your shop stays the same. The message says, for example, "3 items moved to Cakes". If the app says "Couldn’t add that category. Try again.", tap Move here again.

Customers see

the items in their new category on your shop page.

More

The sheet "More for 3 items" has the other changes. Under Selling are Stock, Top of shop, Pre-order, No GST and Digital. Under Tidy up are Copy settings from an item, Combine 3 items and Export 3 to CSV. The red Delete 3 items is at the bottom.

These have their own articles:

The others are below.

Top of shop

A switch in the More sheet. Its line says "Show them first on your shop". When some are on top, it says "2 of 5 are on top. Turn on for all." When all are, it says "All of them are shown first".

Tap the switch to put them all first. The message says "3 items now at the top of your shop". Tap it again to take them off the top. The message says "3 items off the top of your shop". See Choose the order items show in.

No GST

A switch in the More sheet. It shows only when your shop adds GST. Turn it on for items with no GST, called zero-rated. The message says "3 items now zero-rated". Tap it again to turn it off. The message then says "3 items charge GST again". See Add GST to your prices.

Stock

In the More sheet, tap Stock ("Count, low stock alert"). The sheet Stock opens. On a computer, Stock is also in the bar at the top.

  1. To count these items, tap the Count stock switch so it turns green. The app says "At 0 they show Sold out by themselves".
  2. Set Low stock alert with − and +. It starts at 5, or at the number the items already share.
  3. Tap Save stock at the bottom.

Your Items list shows a Low label when an item gets down to this number.

If only some items are counted, Count stock says, for example, "3 of 5 counted now". If their alerts are not the same, Low stock alert says "They differ now. Set one for all."

Items that are not counted yet start at 0. The app warns, for example: "2 items not counted yet start at 0 and show Sold out until you count them."

When Count stock is on, a card called On hand now lists the items. Tap − or + to fix how many you have. Then tap Save stock. With many items, the app says "and 3 more. Count the rest in Stock."

Do you only want to fix some numbers? Then tick only items you already count. If one ticked item is not counted, Count stock starts off. Turning it on starts counting all the ticked items.

This sheet does not count items with sizes, boxes or digital items. When you tick only these, the app says "None of these can be counted here".

Is your stock in more than one place? Then you see Count each place instead of On hand now. See Keep stock in more than one place. For more about counting, see Keep count of your stock.

Customers see

"Sold out" on a counted item when it gets to 0.

Pre-order

In the More sheet, tap Pre-order. The sheet says "Customers order now, it reaches them later".

  1. Under Days until it reaches them, set the fewest days. Tap − or + on the left.
  2. Set the most days. Tap − or + on the right.
  3. Under Paid up front, tap Pay later, 25% now, 50% now or Full now.
  4. Tap Take pre-orders on 3 items at the bottom.

When you start, the days are 3 and 7, and Pay later is picked. If the items already take pre-orders with the same settings, the sheet starts with those.

To stop pre-orders, tap Turn pre-order off on 2 items under the green button. It shows when some ticked items take pre-orders.

25% now, 50% now and Full now are grey until you add a way to be paid. The app says "Add a bank account or PayPal in Settings to ask for money up front." See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.

Some items are skipped, like digital items and items that launch later. The app lists them, like "Skipped: Gift card (digital)." For what customers see, see Sell an item as a pre-order.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can use Select. Staff do not see the Items tab.

It comes with a Storefront.

Common mistakes

The bar at the bottom is gone

It hides while you pick items. Tap the X at the top left to stop picking. The bar comes back.

I tapped Shown, but customers still see Sold out

The item counts stock and has 0. Tap Count stock in the yellow note, or count it in Stock. See Add new stock and fix a count.

The button says No change yet

The prices would not change. Type an amount bigger than 0. Or pick Exact under Round new prices.

I changed the wrong items

Tap Undo on the message right away. It only stays for a few seconds. Undo does not put back counts you changed under On hand now.

If it says "No connection. Couldn’t undo." or "Couldn’t undo that.", change the items back the same way.

It says "No connection. Nothing changed."

Your phone lost the internet, so nothing was saved. You may also see "Couldn’t save. Nothing changed." Check your internet and try again.

In the Stock sheet, it may say "No connection. The counts weren’t saved." or "2 counts didn’t save. Try again." Tap Save stock again.

Tip

Use the Pick row to work fast. In the morning, tap Select. Then tap Sold out in the Pick row. Every sold out item is now ticked. Tap Show/hide, then Shown, to open them all again.
