What it is

The item list is a file with one line for each item. It shows each item's name, category, price and how many you have. Use it to keep a copy of your prices, or to send your list to someone. The file is a CSV file: a simple spreadsheet file.

Find it

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page. The card Export item list is there.

On a computer, click Export CSV in the row of buttons above your list.

Every setting

Export item list

This card is at the bottom of the Items page. Under the name, it says "Every item with price, category and stock on hand · CSV".

  1. Tap Export item list.
  2. While the file is made, the card says "Preparing CSV".
  3. Your phone downloads the file.

The file is named after your shop link, like "aishas-cakes-items.csv". It has every item in your shop.

What is in the file

Each column has a short name at the top:

  • "name": the item's name. An item with sizes gets one line for each size, like "T-shirt · Small".
  • "category": the item's category. It is empty if the item has none.
  • "price": the usual price. A sale price is not in the file.
  • "unit": what it is sold per, like kg. It is empty if you did not set one.
  • "available": "yes" for Shown, "no" for Sold out, and "hidden" for Hidden.
  • "on_hand": how many you have. It is empty if you do not count this item.
  • "low_stock_threshold": your Warn me at number. It is empty if you did not set one.

To count stock or set Warn me at, see Keep count of your stock.

Export some items

You can also save a file with only the items you pick.

  1. On the Items page, tap Select at the top.
  2. Tap each item you want in the file.
  3. Tap More at the bottom. A sheet called More for 3 items opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  4. Tap Export 3 to CSV. It shows the number of items you picked. Under it, it says "Name, category, price and stock".

The file is named like "aishas-cakes-items-3.csv". For more about picking items, see Change many items at once.

On a computer, click Select. Pick the items. Click More. Then click Export 3 to CSV.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can download the item list. Staff do not see the Items page.

The Items page comes with a Storefront.

Common mistakes

I cannot find Export item list

It shows only when your shop has at least one item. It hides while you search. Tap the X in the search box first. It also hides while you pick items with Select. Tap the X at the top left to stop picking. Then scroll to the bottom of the Items page.

A red message shows under the card

It may say "Export failed". Check your internet. Then tap Export item list again.

No file appears

Check your phone's downloads. On an iPhone, look in the Files app. If the file is not there, check your internet and try again.

Some lines have no stock number

The "on_hand" column is empty for items you do not count. That is normal.

Tip

Download your list before you change many prices at once. Then you have a copy of the old prices if you need them.
