What it is

Sometimes the same item is in your list twice, like "Coke can" and "Coca-Cola can". Merge into one keeps one of them and deletes the others. Their stock can add up into the one you keep. Other times you have one item for each colour, like "T-shirt Red" and "T-shirt Blue". One item customers pick from joins them into one "T-shirt", and customers pick the colour.

Find it

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Select at the top.
  3. Tap 2 or more items.
  4. Tap More at the bottom.
  5. Tap Combine 3 items. It is under Tidy up.

Sometimes the items you picked look like one item. Then a dark note may show above the buttons at the bottom: "These 3 look like one item". Tap Combine on the note to go straight there.

On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. While you pick, More is in the bar at the top of your list.

For more about picking items, see Change many items at once.

Every setting

Combine 3 items

This sheet shows the photos of the items you picked. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) When the names look the same, it says "These look like the same item added twice." It has two choices:

  • Merge into one: "Duplicates become one item. Stock adds up, past orders move over."
  • One item customers pick from: "Like Coke, Sprite, Fanta under one Soft drink"

A choice that does not fit is grey, and its line says why. For Merge into one: "Up to 20 at once", "Not with items that have sizes, packs or choices", "Not with boxes" or "Not digital with physical". For One item customers pick from: "Up to 60 at once" or "Only plain items, without sizes, packs or boxes".

Want to sell a few items together at one price? Make a box instead. See Make a box customers fill themselves.

Merge into one

  1. Tap Merge into one. A sheet with the same name opens.
  2. Tap the item to keep. It says Keep in green.
  3. Read the list under After the merge.
  4. Tap Merge 3 items at the bottom.

The sheet says "Pick the one to keep. Its name, photo, price and extras stay." Each item shows its price, how many are in stock if you count it, and "no photo" if it has none. Eveyla ticks one for you first. Check that it is the one you want.

Under After the merge, the app tells you what happens:

  • "Stock adds up to 24, in each place." If the item you keep does not count stock, it says, for example, "Coke can isn’t counted, so their stock counts are dropped."
  • Promo codes and boxes that had the other items now use the item you keep.
  • "The other 2 items are deleted. This can’t be undone."

If their prices differ, the app warns, for example: "Their prices differ. After the merge everyone pays MVR 15."

The message says "Merged into Coke can", with a line like "24 in stock now". There is no Undo.

Customers see

only the item you kept, with its name, photo and price.

One item customers pick from

  1. Tap One item customers pick from. A sheet called Make one item opens. It says "We read the 3 names. Check what we found."
  2. Check the Name box. Eveyla fills in the words all the names share, like "T-shirt". Type a new name if you like.
  3. Check the choices under Customers pick.
  4. Check the list under What comes across.
  5. Tap Make 1 item from 3 at the bottom.

The message says "Made 1 item from 3". There is no Undo.

Customers pick

These are the choices Eveyla found in the names. The list is called Colour when every choice is a colour, or Option when it is not. It says, for example, "3 found in the names", with a green Found label. Each choice shows its photo, or a colour dot.

Sometimes every name has the same size, like 500ml or 128GB. Then a second list shows, called Size or Storage. It says, for example, "500ml on all 3. Add more later."

What comes across

The app says "Each one keeps its photo, price and count." Each choice shows how many are in stock (or "Not counted") and its price.

A yellow note says: "The 3 old items leave your shop and become one. Past orders and receipts keep them as they were. Promo codes made for any of them now work on the new item." If some were on sale, it adds: "Sale prices on them end; each one keeps its regular price."

Under it, a line adds up the stock, like "36 in stock in all, all at MVR 150."

Customers see

one item instead of three. They pick a colour or option. Each choice has its own photo, price and stock.

To change the choices later, open the new item. See Add sizes and colours.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can combine items. Staff do not see the Items tab.

It comes with a Storefront.

Common mistakes

Merge into one is grey

Its line says why. Items with sizes, packs or choices cannot be merged, and boxes cannot either. A digital item and a normal item cannot be merged together. You can merge up to 20 items at once. Untick the items that do not fit and try again.

My stock count is gone after a merge

The item you kept did not count stock, so the other counts were dropped. A merge cannot be undone, so count the item again. See Keep count of your stock. Next time, read the first line under After the merge. Pick an item that counts stock as Keep, so the stock adds up.

It says "Two items read the same"

For example: "Two items read the same: Red. Rename one so each name differs, then try again." Two of your items have the same name, like two "T-shirt Red". If they are the same thing, use Merge into one first. If not, close the sheet and rename one of them, like "T-shirt Dark red". See Change an item's name, photos, price or details. Then try again.

If it says "Give the item a name.", type a name in the Name box.

A message shows after I tap Make 1 item from 3

The message says what to fix:

It says "Couldn’t merge them. Nothing changed."

Check your internet and try again. Did you send stock of one of these items to another place? Tap It arrived on that stock first. See Keep stock in more than one place.

Tip

Name look-alike items the same way, with only one word that changes, like "Polo Red", "Polo Blue" and "Polo Black". Eveyla then reads the colours for you and fills in everything in Make one item.
