What it is
Paste your menu or price list, for example from WhatsApp or Notes. Or pick a spreadsheet file, like Excel. Eveyla reads the names, the prices and the headings, like Breakfast. You check the list, then add all the items at once. Reading a pasted list uses Grow credits. Grow is your shop assistant in Eveyla. Grow credits pay for its work. A spreadsheet is usually free.
Find it
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the green Add items button at the top. On an empty Items page, tap Add your first item instead. A page called Add items opens.
- Tap Paste a list. A page called Paste your list opens.
For a file, tap A spreadsheet instead of Paste a list. See the steps below.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left, and the green button says Add item. You can also drag a spreadsheet file onto the Add items page.
If you do not see Items, your shop may be a free listing. Reading lists needs a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.

Paste your list
The page says "One item per line, price at the end". The big box shows an example in grey. A heading, like Breakfast, is on its own line. The items come under it, like "Mas huni 25" and "Roshi 5".
The orange line at the bottom says how many Grow credits the reading uses, like "Reading this list uses 1 credit". A long list uses more. While a long list is read, the button says something like "Reading part 2 of 3…".
If one part does not read, a note says "Part 2 didn't read." Check which items are missing. Tap Add an item by hand at the end of the list for each one.
To use a photo of your list, tap Take a photo of the list. Pick the photo, then go on as in Add many items from photos.
A spreadsheet
The row says "Excel or CSV" and Usually free. You can pick an Excel or CSV file.
The Reading your file page shows your file's name. If your file needs Grow credits to read, it says "Reading this file uses 1 credit". To stop, tap Cancel. If something goes wrong, tap Back or Choose another file.
Put each item on its own row, with its name and price.
24 items
The title says how many items were found. Items are grouped under the headings from your list. Each heading becomes a category in your shop. Each row shows the name and price, and the About line and choices when there are some. A row with no price says Add price.
Under the title, a line says what is left, like "2 need a fix · 1 to check". When nothing is left, it says "All ready". Tap Needs you to see only those items.
A row may show a note:
- "No price yet", "Price must be a number" or "Needs a name": fix it. Until then, the item stays here and is not added.
- "We weren't sure we read this price right": tap 25 is right if it is right.
- "Also in this list at 30": the same name is in your list twice. Tap Keep both to keep both items. Tap Keep this one to take the other copy off your list.
Tap a row to change it. To add an item that is missing, tap Add an item by hand at the end of the list.
These work the same as for photos. See Add many items from photos:
- Changing one item, and going through the items that need you
- Same price for all 5, for items with no price
- The Add 24 items button, and the 24 items added page
- Add photos on that page. Your Items page then shows only the new items, with the line "Showing the 24 items you just imported".
- You already read this, when you go back and tap Read list again. Reading again uses credits and replaces your list.
Already in your shop
Some items in your list may have the same name as items you already have. Then the line under the title says "3 already in your shop". The row says "Already in your shop".
- Update price: this switch is on (green) when you start. Your old item gets the price from your list. The row shows the old price crossed out, next to the new price in green.
- Tap the switch to turn it off. The app says "Price stays". Your old item stays as it is. If you turn it back on, the app says "Price will update".
- Add as new: adds it as a second item with the same name. The row says "Adding as new". Tap Undo to change your mind.
If the price is the same, the row says "Already in your shop, same price". There is nothing to choose.
When Update price is on, your list can also change the old item's category and unit.
When only price changes are left, the green button says Update 3 prices. While prices change, it says "Updating 3 of 10…".
Customers seethe new price on your item.
Split into 2
Some lines have choices, like a Small and a Large. Small boxes show under them, like "Small 25" and "Large 40". It starts as one item with choices. Customers pick a choice when they order. See Add sizes and colours.
Tap Split into 2 to make them separate items, like "Mas huni Small" and "Mas huni Large". The app says "Saved as 2 items". To join them again, tap Keep together. The app says "One item, two choices".
A note may say the items were saved, but the choices were not. Then open the item and add the choices yourself. See Add sizes and colours.
Customers seeone item where they pick Small or Large, or two items with their own prices.
Keep this list for later?
When you tap the X at the top right before everything is added, this sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) It says something like "24 items. You'll find it at the top of your Items page on this phone for 3 days."
- Keep as draft: keeps the list and closes.
- Keep editing: takes you back to your list.
- Discard list (in red): throws the list away and closes.
A pasted list you have not read yet can be kept too. The sheet then says "Your pasted list."
For a list from photos, the app may say "Your photos won't be kept if you close". This means your phone could not save them. The items are kept, but not their photos.
Your list is waiting
This card shows at the top of your Items page when you kept a list. It can also show if the app closed before you finished. It says how many items the list has and how many need you, like "24 items · 3 need you". For a list you did not read, it says "A pasted list, not read yet". Under that, it says when it was saved, like "Saved 2 hours ago on this phone".
- Continue list: opens your list again, where you left it.
- Discard: the card asks "Discard list?". Tap Discard to throw it away, or Keep.
On the Add items page, the same list shows at the top as Continue your list.
On a list you continue, Start fresh shows next to the title. It throws the list away and takes you back to the Add items page.
Only this phone keeps the list. You will not see it on another phone or a computer.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can add items from a list or a spreadsheet. Staff do not see the Items tab.
It needs a Storefront. Reading a pasted list uses Grow credits. A spreadsheet is usually free, but some files need a credit. Only the owner can buy credits. See Grow credits.
Common mistakes
It says Paste your menu or price list first
The big box is empty. Paste your list into the box. Then tap Read list.
It says No items found
The full message is "No items found. Try clearer text or a sharper photo." Put one item on each line, with the price at the end. Then tap Read list again.
It says Could not read that file
The full message is "Could not read that file. Try CSV, XLSX, XLS, or XML." Save your file as Excel or CSV, then tap Choose another file. If it says "That file is empty." or "No items found in that file.", check that you picked the right file. Then check that your items are in it.
The price of an item I already had changed
Update price was on for that item. Open the item and change the price back. See Change an item's name, photos, price or details. Next time, turn off Update price before you tap the green button.
Paste a list is grey and says Needs a credit
Your shop has no Grow credits for reading. The owner can tap Top up credits. A spreadsheet may still work, but some files need a credit. Then the app says "Not enough credits". Adding items one at a time is always free. See Add your first item.
Tip
Put each heading on its own line above its items, like Breakfast or Drinks. Your items then come in already sorted into categories. See Sort items into categories.
