Open an item

Most tips start on the item's own page.

  1. Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap the item's name. Do not tap the green Shown button.

The item opens. At the bottom, the Customers see card shows the item the way customers see it.

On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left.

On a free listing, there is no Items tab. See "On a free listing" below.

Use clear photos

  1. Tap the photo or the name at the top of the item. A panel called Photos and details opens.
  2. Under Photos, tap the square with the camera.
  3. Pick a photo.
  4. Tap Done at the top right.

Ideas for a good photo:

  • Show one item in each photo.
  • Take it in daylight.
  • Fill the photo with the item.

You can add more than one photo. A new photo goes at the end. The first photo is the cover, the one customers see first.

  • To make a photo the cover, tap it. Then tap Make it the cover.
  • To take off a photo, tap it. Then tap Remove.
Customers see

the cover photo in your shop. When they tap the item, they can swipe to see the other photos.

See Change an item's name, photos, price or details.

Use names customers know

  1. Tap the photo or the name at the top of the item.
  2. Type the name in the Name box.
  3. Tap Done.
  • Use the words your customers use. For example, "Chocolate cake", not "Item 12".
  • Keep it short. Put the rest in the description.

Does one thing come in many sizes? Add sizes to one item. Do not make a new item for each size. See Add sizes and colours.

Say what is in it

  1. Tap the photo or the name at the top of the item.
  2. Type in the Description box. Before you type, it shows "What is it? What's in it?" in grey.
  3. Tap Done.

Say what it is made of, how big it is, or how many it feeds.

Customers see

your words when they tap the item.

Make the price clear

  1. Tap the big Price tile on the left. A panel called Price opens.
  2. Type the price.
  3. Tap Done.

If the tile says "Tap to set a price", the item has no price yet.

In some shop categories, like Groceries, this panel also has Sold per. Tap how you sell the item, like kg or dozen. To type another word, tap Your own. Customers see the word, like kg, on the item.

Put an item on sale

  1. Tap the Price tile.
  2. Tap the Sale switch. The app fills in a sale price for you.
  3. Change the Sale price if you want. It must be lower than the price.
  4. Under Ends, tap No end, Tonight or Pick a day. No end is picked when you start.
  5. Tap Done.

Under Sale, the app says how much customers save, like "Customers save MVR 10 (10% off)".

Customers see

the sale price, the old price crossed out and a SALE tag. This is for items without sizes.

Use Tonight for food you want to sell before you close. See Put an item on sale.

Put your best items first

  1. Open the item.
  2. Tap the round Top of shop button.

If you do not see it, tap All at the end of the round buttons. Then tap Top of shop.

The button turns green. The app says "At the top of your shop". To undo, tap it again. The app says "Not at the top".

Pick only a few items, like the ones that sell most. If every item is at the top, none of them stands out. See Choose the order items show in.

On a free listing

  1. Tap Home in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Items.
  3. To add or change a photo, tap the square on the left of the item.
  4. Change the Item name, Price (MVR) or Description (optional).
  5. Tap Save under the item. It shows after you change something.

More photos, Sale and Top of shop need a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.

Who can use it

The owner, senior managers and managers can change items. Staff do not see the Items tab.

Photos, names, prices and descriptions are free on both plans.

If this happens

"This photo type can't be used here"

The full message is "This photo type can't be used here (often HEIC from an iPhone). Pick a JPG or PNG, or take a screenshot of the photo and add that." Take a screenshot of the photo. Then add the screenshot.

"That photo is too big"

Pick a smaller photo. Or take a screenshot of the photo and add the screenshot.

"The sale price must be below the price."

Type a Sale price that is lower than the price.

Tip

Look at your shop the way customers do. Tap your shop name at the top left. Then tap View storefront. Check that every item has a photo, a clear name and a price. See What customers see on your shop page.
