What it is

Visible to customers hides or shows your whole shop. When your shop is hidden, your shop link stops working. Your shop also leaves the Eveyla shop list. Use it when you close your shop for a long time.

For a short break on a Storefront, pause orders instead. Customers can still see your shop, but they cannot order. See Pause and restart orders.

Find it

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Visibility, near the bottom.
  3. Tap Visible to customers. Under it, it says "Showing in directory and your links".

A sheet called Visible to customers slides up from the bottom. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)

On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left. The sheet opens in the middle of the screen.

Every setting

To hide your shop, tap Hide my shop. It is the red button at the bottom of the sheet.

The app does not ask if you are sure. Your shop is hidden right away, and the sheet closes. In Settings, the Visibility card turns yellow. Under Visible to customers, it now says "Hidden. Customers cannot open your shop".

To show your shop again:

  1. Tap Visible to customers.
  2. Tap Show my shop at the bottom.

Your shop is back right away. Your link works again.

Showing now

The sheet shows this while customers can see your shop. A green box says "Customers can find your shop in the Eveyla directory and open your links." The Eveyla directory is the shop list on shop.eveyla.com. See Your shop in the Eveyla shop list.

Under If you hide your shop, the app lists what will happen:

  • "Your shop.eveyla.com/yourshop link stops working. Anyone who opens it sees a Shop not found page."
  • "Your shop is removed from the Eveyla directory."

The sheet shows your own link in place of yourshop. If you have your own domain (your own web address), the sheet says it stops working too. See Use your own domain.

If you pay for a Storefront, hiding does not stop or change your bill. A grey line says "Your monthly bill does not change while you are hidden." With your own domain, it says the domain fee still applies. See Pay your Eveyla bill.

A blue box says you can turn off Accepting orders instead. Your shop stays visible and your links keep working. This is for Storefront shops. A free listing does not take orders. See Pause and restart orders.

Hidden now

The sheet shows this while your shop is hidden. A yellow box says "Customers cannot find or open your shop."

Under While your shop is hidden, the app says your link "shows a Shop not found page right now". It also says "Your shop is not shown in the Eveyla directory."

On a Storefront, a grey line says "You are still being billed for your subscription while hidden."

Customers see

a page called "Shop not found" in place of your shop. It says "We couldn't find a shop at /yourshop." Under it is a link, ← Back to Eveyla. Your shop is also gone from the shop list.

Who can use it

Only the owner can hide or show the shop. Senior managers, managers and staff cannot open Settings.

It is free, on a free listing and on a Storefront.

Common mistakes

I only wanted a short break

Tap Visible to customers. Then tap Show my shop. On a Storefront, pause your orders instead. Customers can still see your items while you are paused. See Pause and restart orders.

Look at Visible to customers in Settings. If it says "Hidden. Customers cannot open your shop", tap it. Then tap Show my shop.

If it says "Showing in directory and your links", check the link. A small mistake in the link also shows this page. Did you change your link? Send customers the new one. See Your shop link.

Customers see "Shop not available"

This is not the Visible to customers switch. The page says "This shop isn't taking orders through Eveyla right now." It shows when your Storefront is not live yet. Look at the top of your order board. A message there says what to do, for example Storefront not live yet with Activate now. See Pay your Eveyla bill.

Customers see "That item isn’t available right now"

A customer opened a link to an item you hid or deleted. Your shop page opens under the note. The note names your shop: "Here’s everything else Aisha’s Kitchen has." The customer can close it with the X. If you hid the item by mistake, see Mark an item sold out or hide it.

A red message shows when I tap the button

Your shop did not change. The message says what went wrong, or "Something went wrong". Check that your phone is online. Then tap the button again.

Tip

When you show your shop again, send your link to your customers. Tell them you are open again. See Share your shop link and QR code.
