What it is

Your shop page is made of parts, like the shop header, your items and your reviews. The section builder lets you show or hide each part and move it up or down. You see a preview first. Nothing changes for customers until you tap Save.

The section builder is an add-on. The app uses a few names for it: the Sections row, the Your page screen and the Section builder add-on. A locked card calls it Page builder. They are all the same thing.

To change how a part looks, see Section builder: change how each part looks. To add your own notes and text, see Section builder: add blocks.

Find it

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Your link.
  3. Tap Storefront. It says Layout, look, colours under it.
  4. Under Style, tap Sections. A page called Your page opens.

On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.

The Sections row says Standard until you save your own page. Then it says Custom.

Does the Sections row have an orange Add-on label? Then your shop does not have the Section builder yet. Tap the row to try it on your shop and buy it. See Turn an add-on on or off.

If a card says Available as an add-on and Page builder, it is the same add-on. Tap Try it on my shop.

If a card says Could not check your plan, your internet dropped. Tap Try again.

If you do not see Storefront, your shop is a free listing. The section builder needs a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.

Every setting

To change your page:

  1. Tap the switch on a part to show or hide it.
  2. To move a part, tap Reorder next to its group.
  3. Tap the up or down arrow on the part.
  4. Tap Done next to the group.
  5. Tap Preview. Your page slides in from the right.
  6. Tap the small handle with dots on the left edge of the preview. The preview closes.
  7. Tap Save at the bottom right.

The label at the top now says All saved. Customers see your new page right away.

Your page

At the top is a card with a small drawing of your page. It says how many parts are on, like "12 parts on your page". It has a Preview button and a label. The label says All saved, or something like "3 unsaved" when you have changes.

Under the card are your parts, in groups: Top of the page, Before your items, Down the page and Cart. Market has no Before your items group. The group names and the label show in capital letters.

Each part has a line under its name. It says how the part looks now, or "Switched off". A part with an arrow (›) has styles. Tap its name to change them.

The first time you open it, every part is on, in the standard order for your look. To leave, tap the back arrow at the top left.

Show or hide a part

Each part has a switch on the right. Green means on. Grey means off. A part that is off looks faded.

Shop header, Your items, Footer and Cart say Always on. Every page needs them.

Customers see

the part is gone from your shop page after you tap Save.

Reorder

  1. Tap Reorder next to a group. Up and down arrows show on each part.
  2. Tap an arrow to move a part one place.
  3. Tap Done next to the group.

A part moves only inside its own group. An arrow is grey when the part cannot go further. Reorder only shows next to a group with two or more parts that can move.

Some parts never move. Shop header always stays at the top. On Market, Awning stripe and Info card always stay under it. So that group has no Reorder button. In Reorder, Policy note says "Stays above the footer". Footer says "Always last on the page".

Customers see

the parts in your new order after you tap Save.

The parts

Which parts you have depends on your look: Shelf, Market or Feast. See Choose your shop's look. Each part fills itself from your shop details.

  • Shop header: "Your logo, name and status". Always on. Has styles.
  • Cover banner (Feast): "The graphic behind your shop name".
  • Awning stripe (Market): "The striped band under the header".
  • Info card (Market): "Hours and delivery summary".
  • Jump tabs (Feast): "Quick links to parts of your page".
  • Search bar: "Lets customers search your items". On Feast, it sits inside the Shop header and says "Inside the header". See What customers see on your shop page.
  • Delivery & pickup (Feast and Shelf): "Times, areas and fees". Has styles.
  • Notices: "Closed days and holiday notes". Customers also see messages here, like "Closed right now" and your pre-order notes.
  • Categories: "The list customers use to jump around". Has a look to pick.
  • Promo banner: "Your active promo code". Your giveaway shows here too.
  • Gift boxes: "Your build-your-own boxes".
  • Featured items (Market and Feast): "The row above your items". Has styles.
  • Your items: "Everything you sell". Always on. Has styles.
  • Reviews: "What customers said". Has settings.
  • Shop details (Feast): "Address, hours and about".
  • Contact (Market and Feast): "WhatsApp, Viber and phone". Has a setting.
  • Policy note: "Returns and cancellations".
  • Footer: "Powered by Eveyla and terms". Always on. Has styles.
  • Cart: "The bar customers tap to check out". Always on.

Your own blocks also sit in Down the page. See Section builder: add blocks.

Preview

Tap Preview in the card at the top. You can also tap the small drawing of your page. The preview shows your page with your changes, before you save.

The preview covers about two thirds of the screen. On its left edge is a small handle with dots.

  • To see the whole preview, drag the handle to the left. Then you also see the ··· button and the X at the top right.
  • To close the preview, tap the handle. To open it again, tap Preview.

At the top of the preview:

  • Phone and Desktop: Desktop shows how your page looks on a computer.
  • Draft shows when you have changes that are not saved.
  • The ··· button has Refresh (load the preview again), Share a preview link and Open my shop (your live page).
  • The X closes the preview.

If you leave the preview open, it is open again next time.

Save

Save is at the bottom right. It is pale until you change something. While it works, it says "Saving…". Then the label says All saved.

Customers see

your new page as soon as it is saved.

If something goes wrong, a red box shows at the top. It says "Your page was not saved." and why. Your changes are still there. Tap Save again.

Undo

The round arrow at the top, next to ···, is the undo arrow. Each tap takes back one change. It is pale when there is nothing to take back. After you tap Save, you cannot undo.

Save your changes first?

If you tap the back arrow before you save, this sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) It lists your changes, like "Reviews moved" or "Gift boxes switched off". You have three choices:

  • Save and leave: saves, then leaves.
  • Keep editing: stays on Your page.
  • Leave without saving: leaves, and your changes are lost.

Reset to standard

  1. Tap ··· at the top right.
  2. Tap Reset to standard at the bottom. It is red.
  3. Read the note: "This puts your page back to the standard order for your look and removes your blocks. Your items and shop settings are not affected. It saves straight away."
  4. Tap Yes, reset.

To keep your page, tap Keep my page instead. After a reset, the Sections row says Standard.

The ··· menu

Tap ··· at the top right. A menu opens on the left. Your shop name and plan are at the top.

  • Preview: opens the preview.
  • Open my shop: opens your live shop page.
  • Share a preview link: see Section builder: share a preview and ask Grow.
  • Appearance: links to Colours, Cover text, Market or Feast look (where you pick your look), Domain and Add button style. Tap Appearance to fold this list away.
  • Reset to standard: see above.

To learn about those pages, see:

Tap the X to close the menu. If you have not saved, the app first asks Save your changes first?

Your shop

Tap the title Your page at the top. A sheet called Your shop opens. It shows your plan, your Section builder add-on and your Grow credits. It has links to Shop settings, Add-ons and Billing. See Pay your Eveyla bill.

On a computer

The builder shows three columns. Your parts are on the left. Your page is in the middle. Settings are on the right.

  • Click a part in the list, or click it on the page. Its settings show on the right.
  • To move a part, drag it by the dots on its left. Reorder works too.
  • At the top are Phone and Computer, the undo and redo arrows, the share button, ···, the label and Save. Redo puts back what you undid.
  • A part with no styles has a Show on my page switch on the right. Parts that are always on say "Always on: every page needs it."
  • Ask Grow is a tab on the right, next to Edit a part.

There is no Preview in the ··· menu, because your page is always in the middle.

Who can use it

Only the shop owner can use the section builder. Senior managers, managers and staff do not see Settings.

It needs a Storefront and the Section builder add-on. You can see the price in the add-on store. Ask Grow also uses Grow credits.

Common mistakes

My changes are not on my shop

The preview only shows you. Tap Save and wait until the label says All saved.

I switched a part on, but customers do not see it

Some parts show nothing when there is nothing to put in them:

Customers do not see that I am closed

Notices is switched off. Switch it on, then tap Save.

I cannot move a part where I want it

A part moves only inside its own group. Some parts, like Shop header and Footer, always stay in place.

My page went back to the standard page

Your Section builder add-on has ended, so customers see the standard page for your look. The Sections row shows the orange Add-on label again. Turn the add-on back on. See Turn an add-on on or off.

Tip

Once you have good reviews, move Reviews above Your items. New customers then see what others say before they scroll through your items. Check it in Preview, then tap Save.
