What it is

Every morning Grow gives you a short list of moves. A move is one small job that can help you sell more. Adding stock is one example. The biggest move is at the top. The How it's going tab shows free charts about your week.

Find it

  1. On the order board, tap the green Grow tab on the left edge of the screen.
  2. Tap Today near the top of Grow. When moves wait, it shows how many, like Today · 3.

For the charts, tap How it's going next to Today.

On a computer, click Grow at the top of the bar on the left.

Opening Grow for the first time? See Meet Grow, your shop assistant.

Every setting

Each move is a card. At the top left is a coloured word, like Stock. Then comes a title that says what Grow found. Some cards have a small chart. Under it are one line of advice and the buttons.

  • The green button does the move.
  • A small star (✦) and a number on a button means it uses Grow credits. See Grow credits.
  • A star button on the stock, sold-out or best-seller card works at once. Grow does not ask first.
  • Most cards also have Later.

Top of Today

  • A card like "Aisha came back" shows when a customer you messaged from Grow orders again. See Grow: bring back regulars.
  • The week card says "FRIDAY BRIEF" and Last 7 days. It shows your sales and a line like "Up 12% on the week before". Press the small chart and slide your finger to see each day's sales.
  • When Grow messages bring customers back, the week card also says something like "↗ MVR 450 won back by Grow messages last week".
  • Shops with fewer than 10 orders see Getting started instead: "Let's get your first 10 orders", with a bar like "3 of 10 orders".
  • A line like "3 moves for today" and Biggest first shows how many moves are left today.

Stock: an item runs out

The title says something like "Chocolate cake runs out tomorrow" or "Chocolate cake is sold out". For a drop (an item you launched with a countdown), it says "Chocolate cake sold out after its drop". The top right says Best seller when it is one. The chart shows how many are left and when it runs out.

The buttons depend on whether Grow suggests an amount.

If Grow does not suggest an amount:

If Grow suggests an amount:

  • Add 40 to stock (with ✦) adds the stock for you. Under it, the app says "40 is about 2 weeks of sales."
  • Other amount lets you pick your own number. See below.
  • Open Stock · free opens Stock, so you can add stock yourself.

When you save stock in Stock, the card goes away by itself. When Grow adds the stock, a green box says what changed. It shows Undo and how many credits were used.

Other amount

A sheet opens with the item name and how many you have in stock. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)

  1. Tap Add to stock to add to what you have. It is picked when you start. Or tap Set stock to to type the exact count.
  2. The number starts at Grow's suggested amount. Tap the minus or plus button to change it, or type a number. With Add to stock, you can also tap +10, +20, +30 or +50 to pick that amount.
  3. Check the line under it, like "Stock 5 → 25". It also says "New orders count down from 25."
  4. Tap Add 20 (or Set to 20). The button shows how many credits it uses. Grow changes the stock right away.

Tap Cancel to go back with no change.

Customers: regulars have gone quiet

Grow shows regular customers who have not ordered for longer than usual. Tap Write their messages to send each one a WhatsApp message. See Grow: bring back regulars.

Money: owed to you

Grow shows how much customers owe you in your credit book. Tap Write reminders to send them reminders. See Grow: collect what's owed.

Attention: your rush

The title says when most of your orders come, like "Friday 4 to 7 pm is your rush". The top right says how many of your orders come then, like "30% of orders".

A grid of small boxes shows each day and time. Darker boxes mean more orders. Your busiest box has an orange line around it. Tap a box to see its number of orders. Under the grid, a line names your busiest time, like "Peak: Friday, 4 to 7 pm".

The advice says when to post, like "Post your Story before 4 pm to catch it." Tap Write Story caption to have Grow write a caption. It uses credits.

Write a Story caption

  1. Tap Write Story caption. A sheet called Write a Story caption? opens. It shows how many credits it uses and how many you have.
  2. Tap Write it. You see "Writing your caption".
  3. When it says "Your caption is ready", you see two boxes: DHIVEHI and ENGLISH.
  4. Tap Copy in the box you want.
  5. Tap Make Story card. A sheet called Share your shop opens, with a picture of your shop for your Story. See Share your shop link and QR code.

To go back without a caption, tap Cancel instead of Write it.

Write again writes a new caption. It uses credits again.

While Grow writes, you can tap Close, keep it running. When the caption is ready, a message says "Your caption is ready". Tap Open on it.

When the caption takes 1 credit, the sheet has a box: Don't ask again for 1-credit actions. Tick it, and Grow stops asking first for every job that uses 1 credit. You cannot bring the question back in the app, so tick it only if you are sure.

The rush card is done once your caption is ready.

Items: not selling

The title says something like "Juice hasn't sold in 3 weeks" or "4 items haven't sold in 3 weeks". The advice says "A better photo or price often helps."

Tap See items to open your Items page. See Change an item's name, photos, price or details.

Photos: add photos

The title says something like "Add photos to 4 items". The advice says "Items with photos get ordered more." Tap Add photos to open your Items page. Shops with fewer than 10 orders see Get started on this card instead of Photos.

Get started: add your items

The title says "Your shop has no items yet", or something like "You have 3 items. Add the rest".

The card says "Post your QR or link on Instagram and WhatsApp status." A QR code is a square code that a phone camera can read. Tap Share link. A sheet called Share your shop opens. When you share or save from it, the move is done. See Share your shop link and QR code.

Stock: sold out and still showing

The title says something like "Juice is sold out and still showing" or "3 sold-out items are still showing". The advice names the items.

Tap Hide it (or Hide 3 items). Grow hides them for you and uses credits. A green box shows Undo. To show an item again later, see Mark an item sold out or hide it.

Customers see

the hidden items are gone from your shop until you show them again.

Items: best seller not at the top

The title says something like "Your best seller sits 4th in Cakes".

Tap Move to top. Grow moves the item to the top of its category and uses credits. A green box shows a small picture of your shop, with the item marked "Moved here". Tap Open my shop to see your shop page. Tap Undo to put it back. See Choose the order items show in.

Customers see

the item first in its category.

Stock: by place

This card is for shops with the Packs and barcodes add-on and two or more stock places. When you edit an item, you can set a warn level for each place. When an item is at or under that level, it shows here.

Each row shows the item, the place, how many are left and "warn at" the level. Tap a row to open Stock for that item. This is free. See Packs and barcodes: stock and costs at each place.

Later

Tap Later to move a card to tomorrow. A bar says "Moved to tomorrow". To bring the card back, tap Undo on the bar straight away.

Did you do it?

Some buttons close Grow and open the right page: Update stock, See items, Add photos, Snap or paste a list and Add one by one. When you come back to Grow, the card asks a question, like "Did you update the stock?" or "Did you add the photos?".

  • Tap Yes to finish the move.
  • Tap Not yet to keep the card.

All done

When you finish every move, Grow says something like "All 3 moves done". It also says "Your next brief is ready tomorrow at 6 am." Tap See how it's going for your charts. Or tap Ask Grow something. See Ask Grow a question.

On a day with no moves, Grow says "Nothing needs you today". It shows an idea: "Want more orders? Post today's best seller". Tap Make Story card (free), or Write a caption instead (uses credits).

At the bottom of Today, a line says when Grow last updated it, like "Updated at 6:00 from your orders and POS sales".

How it's going

This tab opens when your shop has 10 orders. Before that, it says "How it's going opens at 10 orders". The same note shows at the bottom of Today.

From top to bottom:

  • Sales this week: your sales, with an arrow that shows the change from the week before. In the chart, green is this week and grey dashed is the week before. Tap a day to see its sales and the week before.
  • Three small boxes: orders, MVR per order, and new customers this week.
  • A month card, like "October so far". It shows your sales this month and on the same days last month.
  • Best sellers: what sold most this week. Tap a bar to see the full name.
  • Who ordered this week: a line like "6 in 10 orders came from people who ordered before". The bar shows those people in green and new customers in orange.
  • Watch list: items about to run out, like "5 left" and "Out Tue". It also shows items that are not selling, like "25 days" and "0 sold".

With a keyboard, press Tab to reach the sales chart. Then use the left and right arrow keys to move between days.

Who can use it

Only the shop owner can see and use Grow. It needs a Storefront, and it works during the free trial.

Moves, charts and How it's going are free. These use Grow credits:

  • Grow adding stock for you
  • Hide it
  • Move to top
  • Write Story caption
  • Write a caption instead

Reading photos or a list after Snap or paste a list also uses credits. See Grow credits.

Common mistakes

A button with a star is grey and the card says "Needs internet."

Your phone is offline. Connect to the internet and try again.

Grow says I need more credits

A sheet says something like "This needs 1 credit". You do not have enough Grow credits. The sheet shows ways to top up. See Grow credits. On a stock card, you can also tap the button that ends in "free". Then you add the stock yourself.

Grow changed something I did not want

Tap Undo in the green box on the card. Later, you can tap Ask Grow, then Changes, and undo it there. The app says "Undo is free for 24 hours."

"Couldn't make that change. Try again."

Wait a moment and tap the button again. If it says "This change is already being made. Check again in a moment.", wait and look again.

How it's going is empty

It opens at 10 orders. Share your shop link to get your first orders. See Share your shop link and QR code.

Tip

When you see the rush card, post your Story before the time it gives. That is when most of your customers order, so more of them will see it.
