What it is

When customers buy now and pay later, you write it in your credit book. See Keep a credit book. Grow adds up what they owe and writes a reminder for each customer. If you take bank transfers or PayPal, each reminder can carry a statement. A statement is a page where the customer sees what they owe and pays.

Find it

The order board is the first screen after you sign in. If you are on another page, tap Orders in the bar at the bottom.

  1. Tap the small green Grow tab on the left edge of the screen.
  2. Tap Today at the top of Grow. It may say Today · 3.
  3. Scroll to the card marked Money. It says something like "MVR 1,200 is owed to you".
  4. Tap Write reminders. The Collect what's owed screen opens.

On a computer, click Grow at the top of the bar on the left.

Grow shows this card on days when money has been owed to you for a while. To ask one customer on any day, use the credit book. See Ask someone to pay what they owe.

Every setting

To send the reminders:

  1. Check that the Send each one a statement switch is on (green).
  2. Tap the green button at the bottom. It shows the customer's name, like Get Aisha's statement ready. Grow makes her link and adds it to the message.
  3. Tap the same button again. Now it says Send next: Aisha. WhatsApp opens with the message and her number.
  4. Tap send in WhatsApp.
  5. Come back to Eveyla. The button now shows the next customer.
  6. Do steps 2 to 5 for each customer.
  7. When the screen says "All sent", tap the back arrow next to Collect what's owed.

If the button already says Send next: Aisha, skip step 2. This happens when she already has a statement, or when the switch is off.

If the customer has no phone number, step 3 copies the message instead. A note says "Message copied". Paste it into a chat with them.

Send all your reminders before step 7. If you sent at least one, the Money card then leaves today's list. You cannot open this screen again today.

Customers see

a WhatsApp message from your own phone, like "Hi Aisha, here is your statement from (your shop name). You owe MVR 350.00. See it and pay here:" and a link. The link opens their statement. There they can pay and send you a photo of the payment. See What customers see on a pay link.

The Money card

On Today, the card shows how many customers owe you, and the total. A bar shows how long the money has been owed. It has three parts: "0 to 7 days", "8 to 14 days" and "15 days or more". Each part shows its amount.

Not today? Tap Later. Grow moves the card to tomorrow. A bar says "Moved to tomorrow". Tap Undo on it to bring the card back.

Collect what's owed

The line under the title shows the total and how many customers owe you. It also counts what you sent, like "MVR 1,200.00 · 3 customers · 1 of 3 sent".

Send each one a statement

This switch is on (green) when you start. The app says: "A pay link for what they owe. They pay by transfer, you check the slip in your credit book." A payment slip is the photo of a bank transfer.

Tap the switch to turn it off. Grow then writes a short reminder with no link.

Customers see

"Hi Aisha, this is (your shop name). Your credit account shows MVR 350.00 owed. Please pay the full amount. Thank you."

Do you see "Add a bank account or PayPal in Settings to send statements with a pay link."? Then there is no switch, and Grow writes the short reminder. To send statements, add your bank account or PayPal first. See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.

Customer cards

Each customer who owes you has a card. It shows their name and how much they owe. It also says since when, like "Open since 3 Oct · 14 days". The message is in a green bubble.

Get statement ready

This shows when the customer has no statement yet. Until you tap it, the message ends with "link added when you send". Tap it to make the link. The button then changes to Send on WhatsApp.

This opens WhatsApp with the message and the customer's number. The card says "Sent. When their slip comes in, you check it in the credit book." With the switch off, it says "Sent."

The card says Sent as soon as you tap. So always tap send in WhatsApp too.

Copy message

This shows instead of Send on WhatsApp when the customer has no phone number. Tap it. A note says "Message copied". Paste it into a chat with the customer yourself.

Statement sent, not paid yet

Already sent this customer a statement? The card says something like "Statement sent 25 Sep, 5:02 pm, not paid yet". With the switch on, Grow writes a reminder with the same link.

Customers see

"Hi Aisha, a reminder from (your shop name). You owe MVR 350.00 on your statement. See it and pay here:" and the link.

Check slip

Has a customer paid and sent a slip? Their card says "A slip is waiting on their statement". Tap Check slip. Grow closes and your credit book opens, so you can check the slip there. See Ask someone to pay what they owe.

Grow skips this customer when you tap Send next.

Send next

The button at the bottom always shows the next customer. It says Get Aisha's statement ready or Send next: Aisha. Under it: "When you come back from WhatsApp, Grow moves to the next one."

Who can use it

Only the shop owner. Senior managers, managers and staff do not see Grow.

Grow needs a Storefront. Collect what's owed is free. It uses no Grow credits. Statements need a bank account or PayPal in Settings.

Common mistakes

I can't find the Money card

Grow shows it only when money has been owed for a while. If you tapped Later, it is moved to tomorrow. If you sent a reminder and then tapped the back arrow, the card is done for today. To remind someone now, use Ask in the credit book. See Ask someone to pay what they owe.

A card says Sent, but I didn't send it

The card says Sent as soon as you tap Send on WhatsApp or Copy message. Go back to WhatsApp and send the message.

Did it say "Couldn't copy the message"? Press and hold the words in the green bubble, and copy them. Paste them into a chat with the customer.

Red words show under a card

Something did not work. Check your internet. If the card still shows Get statement ready, tap it again.

It says You're offline, or Couldn't load who owes you.

"You're offline. Sending needs internet." means you need to connect first. For "Couldn't load who owes you.", check your internet, then tap Try again.

It says Nobody owes you money right now.

Everyone has paid, or your credit book is empty. Tap Back.

Tip

Leave Send each one a statement on. Customers can see what they owe and pay from the link. Then you check the slip in your credit book.
