What it is
Some shops keep stock in more than one place, like a shop and a storeroom. Each place can run low at a different number. With Different at each place, you set a warning level for each place. Grow and the Stock sheet then tell you what to restock at each place. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
Find it
First, your shop needs more than one place. See Keep stock in more than one place. The item must also count its stock. See Keep count of your stock.
- Tap Items in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the item's name or photo.
- Tap the tile on the right with your stock number. Under the number, it says "in total · 2 places". A panel called Stock slides up.
- Scroll down to Different at each place.
For an item with packs, this tile opens Packs. Different at each place is under Warn me at. See Packs and barcodes: sell by the piece, pack or case.
If the tile says "Not counted", the item does not count yet:
- Tap the tile.
- Turn on Count how many I have.
- Tap Done at the top right.
- Tap the tile again.
On a computer, Items is in the bar on the left. The item opens on the right side of the screen.
Every setting
To set a level for each place:
- Tap the Different at each place switch so it turns green. A box shows for each place.
- Type a number in a place's box, like 24.
- Leave a box empty to use the item's own level. The grey number in the box shows that level, or "Off".
- Tap Done at the top right.
A dark message says "Stock saved" at the bottom. On an item with packs, it says "Saved".
Counts at each place
The Stock panel shows each place and its count. The last row, In total, adds them up. You cannot change the counts here. The app says "You keep stock in more than one place, so counts change in Stock." Tap Count in Stock to open the item in the Stock sheet. See Keep stock in more than one place.
Different at each place
The switch starts off. The app says "Warn at a different level for each place".
When it is on, the app says, for example, "Warn me at, in pieces. Empty uses 5." The word is what you count in, like pieces, portions or bottles. If the item has no level of its own, it says "Empty uses no warning."
To change the item's own level, tap Count in Stock. The item opens in the Stock sheet. Change the number under Warn me (it shows in capital letters). For an item with packs, use Warn me at in Packs. See Keep count of your stock.
Turning the switch off clears every place's number. Under the switch, the app says "Grow and the Stock sheet tell you what to restock at each place."
A box for each place
Each place has its name and a box. Type a number only. You are warned when the place has that many or fewer.
In the Stock sheet
On the Stock home, each item shows a small label for each place, with how many are there. When a place has its level or fewer, its label turns orange. When it has none left, it turns red. The item can also show under Needs more. See Keep count of your stock.
In Grow
Grow shows a card on its Today screen, like "Restock Water 500ml at Back room" or "3 items to restock at your places". Each row shows the item, the place, how many are left, like "12 left", and "warn at 24". The card says "At or under the level you set for that place. Move stock or order more." Tap a row to open that item in Stock. See Grow: today's moves.
Cost at each place
Only the owner sees this. Tap the big Price tile on the item. Cost at each place is under What one costs you. Its title shows in capital letters. Each place shows its own cost, or "Not known yet". The app says "An average of what you paid there. Moving stock carries its cost along." See Add what an item costs you.
Paid
Only the owner sees this. When new stock comes in, you add it in New stock. After you add how many came in, a Paid box shows under the item. Type what you paid for all of it. The app shows the cost for one, like "MVR 2.50 a piece". Lines for sizes, like Small or Large, have no Paid box. See Add new stock and fix a count.
The Price panel says "When you add stock and type what you paid, this becomes the average cost."
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can set levels for each place. Only the owner sees Cost at each place and the Paid box.
It needs a Storefront, the Packs and barcodes add-on and more than one place. Only the owner can buy the add-on. You can see the price in the add-on store. See Turn an add-on on or off.
Common mistakes
I cannot find Different at each place
Check each of these:
- Your shop has the Packs and barcodes add-on. See Turn an add-on on or off.
- Your shop has more than one place.
- The item counts its stock. If the tile says "Not counted", follow the steps in Find it. For an item with packs, turn on Count bottles (or your own unit) in Packs.
I cannot change the count in Stock
The app says "You keep stock in more than one place, so counts change in Stock." Tap Count in Stock. Change the count for each place there.
"Check the restock levels. Use a number like 24."
A number under Different at each place is not right. Open it and type a plain number, like 24. Leave the box empty if you do not want a level there.
Nothing shows as low
Check the number in each place's box. An empty box uses the item's own level. Grow and the Stock sheet show a place when it has that many or fewer.
Tip
Set a higher level at the place that sells the most. Then you see it early, and have time to send stock from your storeroom.
