What it is

When customers pay by bank transfer, they add a payment slip when they order. A payment slip is the photo of a bank transfer. You look for the money in your bank app, then confirm it on the order. For cash orders, you mark the cash received when you get it.

How customers add the slip: see How customers order from you.

Find it

  1. Tap Orders in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Under Needs you, tap the order card, not the button on it. Cards with a slip to check often say "slip received" at the bottom.
  3. Look at the Payment part. On a phone, it is near the top of the page.

On a computer, the order opens on the right side of the order board.

Every setting

To check a slip and confirm the payment:

  1. Open the order.
  2. Under Payment, tap the small slip picture on the left. It opens big on a new page.
  3. Look at the amount, the name and the time on the slip.
  4. Go back to Eveyla.
  5. Read the line under the amount. It says what to look for, like "Look for MVR 350 from Aisha in your bank app, then confirm."
  6. Open your bank app.
  7. Look for the money.
  8. If it is there, go back to Eveyla.
  9. Tap Confirm MVR 350 received. It is the blue button. It shows your order's total.

If Grow read the slip, the line in step 5 is shorter. Grow's notes show under it.

The Payment part now says "paid · transfer". Under it, it says when, like "Payment confirmed · 05 Oct, 14:02".

Customers see

a line like "Slip received. Nothing else to do." on their order page while you check. After you confirm, their receipt says "Paid · Bank transfer" in capital letters.

Payment

The title of this part. On the right, it says how the customer pays. For example "Bank transfer", "PayPal", "Cash on delivery" or "Cash on pickup".

Inside, you see the amount and a few words about the payment. For example "slip received", "collect on delivery", "paid · transfer" or "cancelled". The line under it tells you what to do next.

For PayPal, the slip is a screenshot of the PayPal payment. The line tells you how many US dollars to look for in your PayPal.

Confirm MVR 350 received

This button shows when a slip is waiting. Tap it only after you see the money in your bank app. The order is marked paid right away.

The button has other words on other orders:

  • Money received: the order has a digital item. An orange note says what happens when you confirm. For example: "Digital order. The buyer gets it as soon as you confirm the money." See Sell digital items: codes, links and top-ups.
  • Confirm payment received: no slip has come yet. The line says "Waiting for the buyer's slip. Nothing to do yet." For PayPal, it says "Waiting for the buyer's PayPal payment."

Ask the buyer

Under the confirm button, it says "Not in your account? Ask the buyer". Use it when you cannot find the money.

  1. Tap Ask the buyer. WhatsApp opens.
  2. Send the message. It says: "Hi Aisha, this is (your shop name) about order #12. We could not find your transfer of MVR 350 yet. Could you check and resend the slip?"

You only see this when the order has the customer's phone number.

Mark cash received

For cash orders, the line says what to collect. For example: "Collect MVR 350 in cash on delivery, then mark it received." Pickup orders say "on pickup". Dine-in orders say "at the counter".

  1. Get the cash from the customer, or from your rider.
  2. Open the order. After you accept it, it is under In progress. After delivery, it is under Done.
  3. Tap Mark cash received. It is the green button.
Customers see

"Have MVR 350 cash ready at the door." on their order page, for a delivery order. It goes away when you mark the cash received.

Mark as unpaid

A small link under a paid payment. Tap it if you confirmed by mistake. The payment goes back to not paid, and the confirm button shows again. On a deposit order, it goes back to part paid.

Deposit

Some pre-order items ask for a deposit. (A pre-order item is one you make or bring in after the order.) A deposit is part of the price, paid first. The customer pays the rest when they get the order. To ask for a deposit, see Sell an item as a pre-order.

Checkout is the last page, where customers place the order. There, the customer picks Deposit now or Everything now. A deposit is always paid by bank transfer or PayPal. If the customer pays everything, the order has no deposit. You confirm it like any other transfer.

On a deposit order, the Payment part shows the deposit amount and "deposit due". When the slip is in, it says "deposit, slip sent". A grey box shows two amounts: Deposit now and On delivery.

To confirm the deposit:

  1. Find the deposit in your bank app, like in the steps at the top.
  2. Tap Confirm MVR 100 deposit received. You cannot undo this on the order page.

The word changes to "part paid". The grey box now says Deposit, paid. The line says "Deposit MVR 100 paid. Collect MVR 250 on delivery, cash or transfer, then mark it received."

When the customer pays the rest:

  1. Open the order again. Look under In progress or Later.
  2. Tap Mark MVR 250 received. The order is now paid.

On the order board, the card says "Deposit MVR 100 · slip sent, check it". After you confirm, it says "Deposit MVR 100 paid · collect MVR 250".

Customers see

"Checking deposit · Bank transfer" on their receipt, then "Deposit paid". Both are in capital letters.

Customers see

"Have MVR 250 ready at the door." when the order is on the way. For pickup, they see "Bring MVR 250 for the rest." when it is ready.

Confirm on the order board

A card with a slip has a blue Confirm button. It confirms the payment without opening the order. On a deposit order, it confirms the deposit only. Check your bank app before you tap it.

If the order has a digital item, the button says Check payment. It opens the order instead. With Grow's slip check on, the button can also say Check (red) or Ask for MVR 20. Both open the order too. See Accept an order and move it along.

Grow's slip check

Grow is your shop assistant in Eveyla. If the owner turned on Check payment slips, Grow reads each slip. It writes what it found inside Payment.

  • When Grow says the slip looks right, the confirm button turns green. Still check your bank app.
  • When Grow saw the same slip on another order, the confirm button turns white.
  • When a slip is a little short, Grow shows a button like Ask Aisha for MVR 20. Some orders also get Take MVR 20 off and confirm. Staff do not see these buttons.

The owner can also turn on Confirm right slips for me. Then Grow confirms right slips by itself. The order says "Confirmed by Grow", with the time. The owner, senior managers and managers see Undo confirm there, until the time shown under it.

When slip check is off, the owner sees "Grow can read slips like this for you. How it works". Tap the X to hide it.

See Let Grow check payment slips.

Check slip

Two other kinds of cards in Needs you have a Check slip button:

On the prep sheet, an order with a payment to check shows a warning and Open order. See Prep sheet step 2: pack the orders.

Who can use it

Everyone in your team can confirm a payment and mark cash received. Everyone can also tap Mark as unpaid: the owner, senior managers, managers and staff.

Only the owner, senior managers and managers see Undo confirm and Grow's buttons for a short slip.

This needs a Storefront. Grow's slip check uses Grow credits, and only the owner can turn it on.

Common mistakes

The money is not in my bank

Do not confirm. Tap Ask the buyer and send the message. If the money never comes, cancel the order. See Cancel or refund an order. For more help, see A payment slip is wrong or missing.

I confirmed the wrong order

Open that order. Tap Mark as unpaid under Payment. Then confirm the right order.

A confirmed deposit cannot be undone this way. There is no Mark as unpaid while the order is part paid.

The order was cancelled, but the customer paid

The Payment part says "This order was cancelled. Payment was received." Send the money back to the customer. Then tap Mark as refunded. See Cancel or refund an order.

If only a deposit was paid, the line says to refund it or keep it. Do what your delivery and refund policy says. See Add a delivery and refund policy. If you send the deposit back, then tap Mark as refunded.

A red message shows at the top of the page

It says "Couldn't update this order. Pull to refresh and try again. If it keeps happening, log out and back in." Check that your phone is online. Go back to the order board. Open the order again. Then tap the button once more.

Tip

Always find the money in your bank app before you tap Confirm. The slip is only a picture. When two orders have the same amount, match the name and the time too.
