What it is
A payment slip is the photo of a bank transfer that a customer adds when they order. Grow is your shop assistant in Eveyla. When you turn on slip checks, Grow reads each new slip. It tells you if the amount, your account, the time and the reference (the transfer number) look right. It also tells you if the same slip was used on another order. Grow only reads the picture, so you still look for the money in your bank app.
Find it
- Tap Orders in the bar at the bottom. The order board opens.
- Tap the green Grow tab on the left edge of the screen.
- Tap the orange number with a small star, at the top right of Grow. It shows your credits. Grow credits opens.
- Scroll down to Check payment slips.
If Grow shows Meet Grow, your shop assistant, tap Show my first brief first. See Meet Grow, your shop assistant.
On a computer, click Grow at the top of the bar on the left.
Every setting
To turn on slip checks:
- Tap the switch next to Check payment slips. It turns green.
- To let Grow confirm right slips, tap the switch next to Confirm right slips for me. It turns green.
- Under Only for orders up to, tap the biggest order Grow may confirm, like MVR 1,000. To let Grow confirm orders of any size, leave Any amount picked.
Grow now reads the slip on each new bank transfer order.
Check payment slips
The app says: "Grow reads the transfer slip on each new order and tells you if the amount, your account and the time match, and if a slip was used twice." The card also says how many credits each slip uses.
The switch is off (grey) when you start. When it is on, a green line counts your slips, like "12 slips checked this month". Grow also reads slips on pay links, but never confirms those for you. See Send a pay link.
If the switch flips back and you see "Couldn't save. Try again.", check your internet and tap it again.
Customers seea line that says their slip is being read. Then "Looks good" and "Nothing else to do." when the slip looks right. If the amount is different, they see "Slip shows MVR 180. Expect a message." If it went to another account, they see "No need to resend. Expect a message." Customers never see Grow's name, or that a slip was used before.
Confirm right slips for me
This shows when Check payment slips is on. It is off when you start. The app says: "When the amount, your account, the time and the reference all match, Grow marks the order paid. You can undo it for 24 hours. No extra credits."
Customers seetheir order as paid.
Only for orders up to
This shows when Confirm right slips for me is on. Tap MVR 500, MVR 1,000, MVR 2,000 or Any amount. Any amount is picked when you start. If you pick a limit, bigger orders wait for you to confirm. They stay in Needs you on your order board.
The app also says: "Grow never confirms a slip that was rounded, sent to an account it can't see, read with a fixed date, or used before, or orders with digital items or a deposit. Those stay in Needs you. Pay links still wait for you."
"Rounded" means the slip is a little more or less than the order. For example, MVR 158 for MVR 157.50. "An account it can't see" is one that is not in your payment details. "A fixed date" means the date on the slip looked wrong and Grow had to fix it.
On the order board
When Grow has checked slips, a box with Grow shows at the top of Needs you. It says something like "I checked 3 slips for you". Small labels say "2 look right", "1 needs you", "Reading 1 more" or "1 not checked". The "needs you" label is red when a slip was used twice. Tap See 1 to jump to the first order that needs you.
Each order card also gets a small label:
- "Grow is reading": wait a few seconds.
- "Slip looks right", in green. "Slip looks right · paid 160" means the customer sent a little more.
- "Same slip as #12", in red: order #12 has the same slip.
- "Slip shows MVR 180", "Paid to another account", "Slip date looks old", "Transfer not completed" or "Slip needs a look": open the order to see why.
- "Slip shows MVR 180 · MVR 20 short", "Waiting for MVR 20", "Grow is reading the second slip", "Second slip came in" or "Slips add up · MVR 200": see Short slip below.
- "Not checked": Grow did not read this slip.
- "Confirmed by Grow": see Confirmed by Grow below.
The button on the card changes too. A right slip gets a green Confirm. Tapping it marks the order paid right away. Find the money in your bank app first. A slip used twice gets a red Check. A short slip gets Ask for MVR 20. Check and Ask for MVR 20 open the order.
The owner may see a line about credits at the bottom of the box. For example: "About 6 slips of credit left." or "No slips of credit left." Tap Top up to buy credits. See Grow credits. When credits run out, the line says "Paused at 4:02 pm. Top up and I'll read the 3 waiting." After a top-up, it says "Top-up sent. I'll read the 3 waiting once it's approved." Then the box says "Back on. I read the 3 that were waiting."
On the order page
- On the order board, tap the order card, not the button.
- Look inside Payment.
Grow says what it found in a speech bubble. While it reads, the bubble says "Reading the slip". Then four rows show a green tick, a red cross or a grey "?":
- Amount: the money on the slip. If it is wrong, it says the order total, like "The order is MVR 200".
- Paid to: the name and account on the slip. It says "Your account" when the money went to you.
- Sent: the time on the slip, like 4:02 pm. Under it is a note, like "5 minutes before the order".
- Reference: the transfer number. "Not on any other order" is good. "Also on #12" is not.
What Grow can say:
- "Checked it. This slip looks right." The confirm button turns green. Find the money in your bank app before you tap it. See Check a payment slip and confirm payment.
- "I've seen this slip before." or "This is the same picture as #12." A red box shows the other order. Tap it to open that order. The app says: "If your bank app shows only one transfer, confirm the order that should have it and cancel the other."
- "The amount on this slip is different.", "Hmm. This went to an account I don't know.", "This slip looks older than the order.", "This transfer doesn't look finished." or "Something on this slip needs a look." Check your bank app.
- "I was paused when this one came in.": Grow had no credits. The owner sees Top up. Others see "Ask the owner to top up and I'll read it."
- "I didn't check this slip." or "I couldn't read this slip.": check the money in your bank app as usual. Grow also says when it cannot check a slip in US dollars.
Sometimes the money went to an account Grow does not know. Then the owner can tap Add it to Payment details. If the account is yours, add it, and Grow knows it next time. See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.
Short slip
Sometimes a slip is a little less than the order, and the rest looks right. Grow says "The slip is MVR 20 short. Everything else looks right." You can ask the customer for the rest. Or you can take the missing MVR 20 off the order.
To ask for the rest:
- Open the order.
- Tap Ask Aisha for MVR 20. It is the green button under Grow. A sheet with the same name opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Tap Open WhatsApp. WhatsApp opens with the message.
- Send the message.
Open WhatsApp only shows when the order has the customer's phone number. Without it, tap Copy and paste the message into any chat. The message says what the slip shows, the order total, what is still to pay and your bank account. It ends with a link to the customer's order page.
As soon as the sheet opens, the customer's order page shows what is still to pay. The sheet says: "The order stays in Needs you as "Waiting for MVR 20"." On the order, Grow now says "Waiting for the other MVR 20." To send the message again later, tap Send the message again.
Customers see"A little more to pay" and "MVR 20 still to pay. Add the slip below." A Still to pay box shows the amount and your account, with Copy. They tap Add the second slip. They pick the photo. Then they tap Send the slip.
Grow reads the second slip too. A Second slip row shows how much it is. When both add up, Grow says "Both slips add up. Check your bank app, then confirm." Then tap the green confirm button. If the second slip is wrong, Grow says "The second slip needs a look." If Grow could not read it, it says "A second slip came in. I couldn't check it." Then check your bank app.
Customers see"Your slips add up. Nothing else to do." when the second slip is right. If it is wrong, they see "Your last slip showed MVR 10. The shop will take a look." They can tap Add another slip. If it still does not add up, their page says "Message the shop to sort out the rest." If Grow could not read the second slip, they see "We have your second slip".
To take the missing money off instead:
- Open the order.
- Tap Take MVR 20 off and confirm. A sheet called Take MVR 20 off? opens.
- Read it: "The order becomes MVR 180 and is marked paid. The receipt and your reports show MVR 20 off as "Short payment"." Under it, three lines show the order, the short payment and what was paid.
- Tap Take it off and confirm.
You see "Took MVR 20 off. Marked paid." To keep the order as it is, tap Cancel. Some orders do not show this button. See Common mistakes below.
If a sheet says "This order changed. Open it again.", tap the X to close it. Then open the order again from the order board.
Customers see"Discount · Short payment" on their receipt, and the order as paid.
Confirmed by Grow
When Confirm right slips for me is on, Grow marks right slips paid. The order card says "Confirmed by Grow". On the order, Grow says "All four matched, so I confirmed it for you."
To undo it:
- Open the order.
- Tap Undo confirm under Grow's note.
The order is not paid any more, and it goes back to Needs you. Under the button, the app says how long you can undo, like "Open until 18 Oct, 9:41 am". After that, the button is gone.
Grow can read slips like this for you
When slip checks are off, the owner sees this line inside Payment on orders with a payment slip. Tap How it works to open Grow credits. Tap the X to hide the line on this phone.
Messages on Telegram
Does Grow send you messages on Telegram? Then it also tells you when it runs out of credits. The message says "Slip checks paused" and has a Top up button. When it has read the waiting slips, you get "Slip checks back on". See Get Grow's morning brief on Telegram.
Who can use it
Only the owner sees Grow. So only the owner can turn on Check payment slips and Confirm right slips for me. Only the owner sees Top up.
Everyone in the team sees what Grow found, on the order board and the order page. The owner, senior managers and managers can ask for the rest, take it off and tap Undo confirm. Staff only see Grow's notes.
Slip checks need a Storefront. Each slip uses Grow credits. Confirming right slips uses no extra credits.
Common mistakes
Grow said the slip looks right, but the money is not in my bank
Grow only reads the picture. Do not confirm. Tap Ask the buyer on the order, under the confirm button. If Grow already confirmed it, tap Undo confirm. See A payment slip is wrong or missing.
My cards say Not checked
Most often, Grow ran out of credits. The owner taps Top up in the box over Needs you. When the top-up is approved, Grow reads the slips that waited. Until then, check those slips in your bank app.
Grow says the money went to an account it doesn't know
If the account is yours, the owner taps Add it to Payment details and adds it. If it is not yours, the money did not reach you. Ask the customer.
I don't see Take MVR 20 off and confirm
The order has a service charge, a fee, a promo code or a discount. Or GST is added on top of your prices. Tap Ask Aisha for MVR 20 instead. Orders with a deposit and pay link orders show neither button. Staff do not see them either. Ask the owner or a manager.
Undo confirm is gone
You can only undo for 24 hours. Tap Mark as unpaid under Payment instead. See Check a payment slip and confirm payment.
Tip
Add every bank account you take payments in to your payment details. Then Grow can tick Paid to, and fewer slips need you. With no account saved, Paid to shows a grey "?". It says "Add your account in Payment details so I can check it".
