What it is
This is Step 2 of the prep sheet. It shows one job at a time in the Up next card (shown in capital letters). The job can be: accept new orders, pack ferry orders first, fill bags that are all the same, or pack one order. Customers do not see that an order is packed.
Find it
- Tap Orders in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap Live at the top, if it is not picked.
- Tap Prep sheet on the right of the same row.
- Finish Step 1, or tap Skip this step under it.
Step 2, Pack the orders, now has the Up next card.
On a computer, Prep sheet is at the top right of the order board.
Every setting
To pack your orders:
- Read the Up next card under Pack the orders.
- Tap the big button on the card.
- Do what the page says.
- Tap the big button at the bottom of the page. The next job shows.
- Do this until Step 2 says "All packed".
Pack the orders
The line under Pack the orders says "5 orders to pack" before you start. It says "4 left" while you pack, and "All packed" at the end.
Under the card, "After that" lists what comes next. Each row shows a number and what it is, like "3 bags" and "Chocolate cake", or "4 orders" and "Each one different, packed one by one". When the list is long, the last line says something like "and 2 more".
At a food shop, Step 2 may say how many orders are the same. Those orders pack together. You see this line while Step 1 is not done.
Pack for
You see this only when your orders go to more than one place. Step 2 must also be the step you are on. It says All places, on the right of Pack the orders.
- Tap All places. A sheet called Pack for opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Tap a place.
The first row is All places. Then each place has its own row. A row can be:
- an area, like Henveiru
- an island
- "Ferry to" and the island, with "Ferry" under it
- "Air cargo" and the airport
- "Pickup", "Dine-in" or "No area yet"
Each row shows how many orders it has.
The button now shows the place you picked. Step 1 and Step 2 count only that place's orders. Step 1 may start again for that place. Tap Start and finish it, or tap Skip this step. At a food shop, tap Cooked, start packing or Skip this step.
To see every place again, tap the place name and pick All places.
Accept 3 new orders
When some orders are still new, the card says "Accept 3 new orders" (or "Accept 1 new order"). Under it, you see the orders, like "#41 Aisha, #42 Hassan, #43 Mariyam".
- Tap Accept all 3. For one order, the button says Accept.
The app says "3 accepted" (or "Accepted"). This is the same as tapping Accept on the order board. See Accept an order and move it along.
Customers seetheir order page changes, for example to "Packing now", or "In the kitchen" at a food shop.
Pack for the 14:30 ferry first
When an order goes on a boat that leaves soon, the card says "Pack for the 14:30 ferry first". An orange label shows how long is left, like "in 1h 20m". Once the time has passed, the orange label is gone. The card also says "2 orders go on boats that leave soon."
- Tap Start. The first ferry order opens. Pack it like one order, below.
Fill 3 bags
When several orders are exactly the same, you can fill their bags together. The card says "Fill 3 bags" and what goes in each, like "Put 1 Chocolate cake and 1 Juice in each bag."
- Tap Start. A page called Fill 3 bags opens. It says "These 3 orders are all the same, so you can fill the bags in one go."
- Look under "In each bag". It lists each item, like "1 × Chocolate cake (Large)".
- Fill the bags.
- Tap Print 3 slips.
- Put a slip on each bag. No printer? Write the order number on the bag.
- Tap Done, all 3 packed at the bottom.
The app says "3 bags packed". You are back on the prep sheet.
For a box, a line under the items says what goes inside, like "With 2 Chocolate, 1 Toffee".
To pack the bags one at a time, tap See the 3 orders. Each order shows its number, the customer's name and where it goes. Tap one to mark that bag packed. Tap it again to take the tick off. The bottom shows how many are done, like "1 of 3 done".
After you tick some bags, the title says "Fill 2 more bags". The button says Done, all 2 packed, or Done, the last one packed. When every bag is packed, the title says "All bags packed". Tap Back to the prep sheet. On the prep sheet, a group you started says "Fill 2 more bags" and Continue.
When there are several groups, the top right says "1 of 2". Once the bags have gone out, this page says "These bags are done". Tap Back to the prep sheet.
Pack #12 for Aisha
For an order that is packed on its own, the card says "Pack #12 for Aisha" and shows its first items.
- Tap Pack this order. A page for that order opens.
- Under Put in the bag, tap each item as you put it in. The ticks only help you. They are not saved.
- Check where it goes, the phone and the money line.
- Tap Packed, next order at the bottom.
The next order opens. When there is none, the app says "#12 packed" and you are back on the prep sheet. If the order is still new, the button says Accept and pack. It accepts the order and packs it.
The page shows, from top to bottom:
- the order number and the customer's name, big. "Order 2 of 5" at the top right when more orders wait.
- Put in the bag: each item with how many, its choices, and what is in a box.
- where it goes: "Deliver to" with the area or island and the address. Or "Picked up at the shop", or "Eaten at the shop · Table 4".
- for a ferry: "Write on parcel:", the boat, where it leaves from and the time, and the boat's phone. Or "No boat details yet".
- the phone number, with a round call button and a WhatsApp button. A second number shows as "or" and the number.
- the customer's note, in quotes.
- the money line in grey (see below).
The money line says what to collect:
- "Collect MVR 200"
- "Paid, nothing to collect"
- "Paid MVR 100, collect MVR 50 more"
- "Deposit paid, collect MVR 150"
- "Deposit not confirmed yet, do not collect"
- "Transfer not confirmed yet, do not collect"
- "Not paid yet", on a pay link order
- "Refunded, nothing to collect"
An orange box shows when the payment needs a look. For example: "Slip not confirmed yet. Pack it. Check it before it goes out." Here, a slip is the customer's photo of their bank transfer. Tap Open order to check it. Other reasons are "Deposit slip not confirmed yet", "Deposit not paid yet", "Not paid yet", "Slip doesn't match the total" and "Slip used on another order". See Check a payment slip and confirm payment.
A packed order shows a green Packed label. At the bottom, Not packed takes the packed mark off. Back to the prep sheet takes you back.
If the order is gone, the page says "This order isn't on the prep sheet" and "It may have gone out already, or been cancelled."
Delivery slips
A delivery slip is a small paper to stick on the bag. There are three ways to make slips:
- The round button with a printer, at the top right of the prep sheet. It makes a slip for every order on the sheet for the day you see.
- Print 3 slips on a group of bags. It makes slips for the bags not packed yet.
- Slip at the bottom of one order. It makes that order's slip.
The app says "Making 5 slips". On an iPhone or iPad, your phone's share menu opens. Tap Print, or save the file. If the app says "Slips ready", tap Open. On other phones and on a computer, the app says "Saved to your downloads. Open it to print."
Each page fits up to 8 slips, with lines to cut along. A slip shows:
- where it goes in a black box, like "Henveiru", "Ferry", "Pickup" or "Air cargo", and the order number, big
- the customer's name, phones, address and note
- each item, like "2× Chocolate cake"
- "Deliver Fri 2 Oct, 14:00" for a pre-order
- for a ferry: "Leaves 18:30", the boat, and "Parcel:" with the name to write on it
- the money line at the bottom, like "Collect MVR 200", and your shop name
A long order can need more slips. They say "Slip 2 of 3".
Customers seethe slip on their bag, with their name, phone, address, note, items and what to pay.
Who can use it
Everyone in your team can pack: the owner, senior managers, managers and staff.
The prep sheet needs a Storefront.
Common mistakes
The Pack for button is gone
It shows only when your orders go to more than one place. Step 2 must also be the step you are on. If Step 1 started again, tap Start and finish it, or tap Skip this step. At a food shop, tap Cooked, start packing or Skip this step.
I marked the wrong order packed
Tap Start sending (or See places) on Step 3. Tap the place name, then the order. Tap Not packed at the bottom. See Prep sheet step 3: send them out.
The printer button made slips for every place
The round button at the top makes slips for every order on the sheet. It does this even when you picked one place. To print fewer, use Print 3 slips on a group of bags, or Slip on one order.
It says "Nothing to print here"
No order on the sheet has anything to put in a bag. For example, the orders have only digital items.
It says "Couldn't make the slips. Try again."
Wait a moment and tap the button again. If it says "Couldn't open the slips. Try again.", tap it again too.
Tip
Print all the slips with the round button before you start. Then stick each slip on its bag as you pack. Your rider can read the money line on each bag.
