What it is
From the credit book, you can send a customer their own page. This page is called a statement. It shows what they owe and each sale on it. They pay by bank transfer or PayPal, then send you the slip (the photo of their transfer). You check the slip before the payment counts.
Find it
If you are the owner or a senior manager:
- Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap Credit at the top. It is the last tab.
- Tap the person in Who owes you. Their page opens.
Managers open the credit book another way. See Keep a credit book.
Ask is at the bottom right of the person's page. It only shows when they owe you money.
Your shop needs a bank account or PayPal in its payment details first. Only the owner can add them. See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery.
Every setting
To send a statement:
- Tap Ask at the bottom right. A sheet called Ask Aisha to pay slides up. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Read the message preview at the top.
- Tap Send on WhatsApp.
- WhatsApp opens with the message ready. Tap send in WhatsApp.
If Aisha has a phone number in your book, WhatsApp opens her chat. If not, pick her chat in WhatsApp.
In Who owes you, Aisha now has a blue Asked label.
The message
The sheet shows what the customer will get. Under the title, it says "They get their page and a way to pay".
A small card shows your shop name, "Aisha's page" and the amount. Under it is a line like "2 lines open since 28 Sep · Pay by transfer or paypal".
The message says: "Hi Aisha, your page at" and your shop name, then "shows MVR 350.00. You can see every line and pay here:" and the link. The link is made when you send.
How can they pay?
This label is in capital letters. It shows when your shop has a bank account and PayPal. Transfer and PayPal are both picked when you start. Tap one to take it off. Keep at least one picked. With none, the send buttons stay grey.
If your shop has only one of them, you do not see this choice.
Let them pay part
The switch is off (grey) when you start. Customers must then pay the full amount. Tap it to turn it on (green). Then customers can type a smaller amount.
Customers seea small Change amount link on their page when this is on.
Send on WhatsApp, Viber and Copy link
- Send on WhatsApp: opens WhatsApp with the message.
- Viber: copies the message and opens Viber. The app says "Message copied". If the message is not in Viber, paste it.
- Copy link: copies only the link. The app says "Link copied". Send it any way you like. If it says "Couldn't copy the link. Tap Copy link again.", tap it again.
The link is made the first time you tap one of these. Tap again and it sends the same link. After that, How can they pay? and Let them pay part are gone from the sheet.
Under the buttons, the app says: "If they send a slip, you check it before it counts."
What customers see
When the customer opens the link, they see their statement. The link preview in the chat does not show the amount.
Customers see"Hi Aisha, here is your statement", then "You owe" and the amount. Under it, they see each sale and its items. They can tap Hide sales to fold the list.
Under that, they see "Pay" and your shop name, with your bank account or PayPal ID. They send the money in their bank app. Then they come back to the page. They tap Attach slip and pick the photo. Last, they tap Send slip.
For PayPal, the page says "Send the full amount in PayPal, then attach the screenshot." The buttons say Attach screenshot and Send screenshot.
After they send it, their page says your shop "has your slip", and "Nothing more to do." It also says, for example, "You sent MVR 150.00". If they sent the wrong slip, they can tap Wrong slip? and send another.
A statement only has the sales up to the moment you sent it. It says, for example, "Sales after 16 Oct are not on this statement."
Asked: see how it is going
After you send a statement, tap Ask again. The sheet now shows how it is going:
- "Sent 2:15 pm · Opened", or "Not opened yet"
- "Asks for MVR 350"
- "MVR 200 received · MVR 150 still due", when they paid part
- "They sent a slip. Check it on their page.", when a slip came in
- "You said the last slip didn't match: The amount is different", after you tap Slip doesn't match
Then you can:
- Tap Remind on WhatsApp to send a reminder with the same link.
- Tap Copy link to copy the link again.
- Tap Stop this link to close it. See Stop this link below.
- Tap Send a new one to make a new statement. The app says, for example, "This replaces the statement you sent 2:15 pm." Do this after new sales, so they are on the page.
Customers seea reminder like "Hi Aisha, a reminder from" your shop name, then "You owe MVR 150.00 on your statement. See it and pay here:" and the link.
Stop this link
- Tap Ask.
- Tap Stop this link.
- Read the note: "Close this statement? The link stops taking payments. A slip already on its way can still come in."
- Tap the red Stop this link.
To keep the link, tap Keep it open instead. When it is stopped, the app says "Link stopped".
Customers see"This statement has closed." with buttons to contact you. They may also see Already paid? Send your slip.
Check slip
When a customer sends a slip, you see it in three places:
- a card like "Aisha sent a slip" under the dark card in the credit book
- the same card on Aisha's page, and an orange Slip to check label in Who owes you
- a card on your order board under Needs you, with a Credit payment label
Sometimes the slip comes after the link closed. Then the order board card also says Slip on a closed statement.
To check it:
- Tap Check on the card. On the order board, the button says Check slip. A sheet called Slip from Aisha opens.
- Look at the slip picture. Next to it, the app shows how they paid and the amount. For example, "The statement asked for MVR 350.00" or "They say they sent MVR 150.00".
- Open your bank app.
- Check that the money is there.
- Type the amount that reached your account in the Amount received (MVR) box. The Record button stays grey until you do.
- Tap Record MVR 350.00.
A message says "Recorded MVR 350.00", with what they still owe. On their page, the payment shows as "Paid by transfer" or "Paid by PayPal", with "From their slip" under it.
If a red message shows, tap Load the new slip under it. Then check the slip again.
Customers see"We received MVR 200.00. Please pay the rest, MVR 150.00." if they still owe. When they have paid it all, they see "Paid in full. Thank you." with a receipt.
Possible duplicate
A duplicate is the same payment twice. Sometimes a yellow box says "Possible duplicate". It tells you why. For example:
- "This slip image was recorded before."
- "This statement was closed before the slip came in."
- "You sent a newer statement after this one."
- "This is MVR 50.00 more than they owe. The extra is kept as credit for them."
It also lists their last payments. Check your bank again. If the app asks you to confirm, tick "I checked my bank. This is a new payment." only when the money is new. Then tap Record anyway.
Slip doesn't match
If the money is not in your bank, or the slip is wrong:
- Tap Slip doesn't match on the slip sheet. A sheet with the same name opens.
- Tap the reason: "The amount is different", "The money is not in my account", "I can't read the slip" or "It went to a different account".
- Tap Send to Aisha.
Nothing is recorded. The app says "Marked as not matching. They'll see why."
Customers see"The shop couldn't match your last slip:" and your reason. They can pay and send a slip again.
Ask everyone at once
Owners can also send reminders to everyone who owes, one after another, with Grow. See Grow: collect what's owed.
Who can use it
The owner, senior managers and managers can send statements and check slips.
It needs a Storefront, and a bank account or PayPal in your payment details.
Common mistakes
I can't see Ask
The person owes you nothing. Ask only shows when they owe you money.
It says "Add a bank account or PayPal in Settings to send statements."
Your shop has no bank account or PayPal yet. The owner taps Open Settings and adds one. See Add your bank account, PayPal and cash on delivery. If you are a senior manager or a manager, ask the owner.
The send buttons are grey
Under How can they pay?, tap Transfer or PayPal, so at least one is picked. If the big button says Needs internet, connect to the internet first.
The customer says the link has closed
If you stopped it, tap Ask. Then send a new statement. If you sent a newer one, tap Ask. Then tap Remind on WhatsApp or Copy link.
A new sale is not on their page
A statement only has the sales up to when you sent it. Tap Ask. Tap Send a new one. Then send it again.
Tip
In Amount received (MVR), type what really reached your bank, not what the slip says. Then your book always matches your bank.
