What it adds

Bills and GST is a monthly add-on. It keeps your supplier bills and the GST on them. It also adds up your GST return for MIRA, the Maldives tax office. A GST return is the form that says how much GST you pay MIRA. You use it in Insights, the tab with your shop's numbers. See See how your shop is doing.

When you have the add-on, these turn on:

These also need GST turned on in Settings, under Tax & GST. See Add GST to your prices.

Is GST on, but you do not have the add-on? Then the GST return row in Reports says "GST on sales". It shows the GST on your sales only. See Get your GST sales numbers.

You do not need the add-on for plain expenses, like rent or gas. They come with your Storefront. See Add your expenses.

Get it

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap the Add-ons card near the top.
  3. Under Run your shop, tap Bills and GST. A page with examples opens. It has three tabs: Bills, GST return and Tax invoices. Nothing changes on your shop yet.
  4. Tap Get Bills and GST at the bottom. A sheet opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) It shows how much to pay and Eveyla's bank account.
  5. Send the money to that account from your bank.
  6. Tap Add slip and send at the bottom of the sheet.
  7. Pick a photo or screenshot of your transfer. This is your slip.

When Eveyla has checked your slip, the add-on turns on. See Turn an add-on on or off.

On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.

Sometimes a short line shows at the bottom instead of Get Bills and GST. It says why, like "We're checking your slip" or "Pay your plan first".

The buttons on the locked cards below open the same page.

Locked cards

Before you have the add-on, you see these cards with a lock.

Bill details

When the owner adds an expense, the round buttons under Bill details each have a small lock.

  1. Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Money at the top.
  3. Tap Expense at the bottom right. A sheet called New expense opens.
  4. Scroll down to Bill details.
  5. Tap a round button with a lock, like Supplier. Or tap Bills and GST add-on next to Bill details.

A dark card called Bills and GST opens under the buttons. It says: "Suppliers, GST on your bills, a bill photo Grow can read, and a GST return you copy into MIRAconnect box by box."

If you typed an amount, the card also says something like "If this bill has 8% GST, up to MVR 40.00 could come off what you pay MIRA." Tap See the add-on to open the Bills and GST page.

Reports with a lock

  1. Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap the round button with a page picture, at the top right. On a computer, it says Reports.

A page called Reports opens. The reports that come with the add-on look grey and have a lock. At the bottom, it says "Reports with a lock come with the Bills and GST add-on."

Tap a report with a lock, like Sales by category. A dark card says "Sales by category comes with Bills and GST". It says what the add-on adds.

  • The owner sees See Bills and GST. Tap it to open the Bills and GST page.
  • A senior manager sees "Ask the shop owner to add Bills and GST."

Under Spreadsheets, Items sold, Expenses and Customers have a lock too. When the owner taps one, the month-end pack opens with the same dark card. A senior manager sees "This comes with the Bills and GST add-on. Ask the shop owner."

The owner can also tap See what it adds at the bottom of Reports.

Month-end pack

Near the top of Reports, a green card says For your accountant. Under it is last month's name, like September pack. Without the add-on, the card has a lock and says "Comes with the Bills and GST add-on". Tap it to see "The month-end pack comes with Bills and GST".

Up to MVR 40 could come off

The owner may see a dark card with a lock on the Money tab. It says something like "Up to MVR 40 could come off". Under it, it says "The GST inside what you spent this month, if your bills had 8% GST." You see it when GST is on for your shop. Tap it to open the Bills and GST page.

Who can use it

Only the owner can get the add-on, add bills and change suppliers. Senior managers can see the reports, You owe and the GST return, but cannot change them. Managers and staff do not see Insights. For tax invoices on orders and at the Counter (the POS tab), see Bills and GST: tax invoices.

It needs a Storefront and the Bills and GST add-on. You can see the price in the add-on store. When Grow reads a bill photo, it also uses Grow credits. See Grow credits.

Common mistakes

I don't see Insights

Insights is for the owner and senior managers, and needs a Storefront. If you are the owner and do not see it, your shop is a free listing. See Free listing and Storefront.

I paid, but the buttons still have a lock

The add-on turns on when Eveyla has checked your slip. Until then, its card in Add-ons says Checking slip. On the Bills and GST page, it says "We're checking your slip" instead of Get Bills and GST. See Turn an add-on on or off.

I have the add-on, but there is no GST return or GST card

GST is off for your shop. To turn it on:

  1. Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap the round button with a page picture, at the top right. Reports opens.
  3. Tap the GST return row. It says "Turn on GST in Settings first". Tax & GST opens.
  4. Turn GST on.

A senior manager sees "The owner turns on GST in Settings" on that row. See Add GST to your prices.

Tip

Before you buy, open New expense and type the total of one supplier bill. Then tap a locked round button. The dark card shows how much GST could come off that bill. Close the sheet with the X if you do not want to save it.
