What it is
When a GST period ends, Eveyla walks you through filing it on MIRAconnect. That is the website of MIRA (the Maldives tax office). The guide has five parts, in the same order MIRA shows them. Most parts have a small drawing of the MIRAconnect screen, with the thing to tap ringed in green. It takes about 10 minutes. It comes with the Bills and GST add-on.
Find it
- Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap the round button with a page picture, at the top right. Reports opens.
- Scroll down to the row of small buttons that starts with All.
- Tap Charges and tax.
- Tap GST return. If the last period is not filed yet, the page opens on it.
- Scroll down to Have these ready.
- Tap Start filing, step by step under it.
On a computer, Insights is in the bar on the left, and the button says Reports.
The button shows only after the period has ended. If the period had no sales and no bills, you file a short nil return instead. See Bills and GST: your GST return.
Have your MIRAconnect username and password ready. The app says: "A computer is easier for MIRAconnect. Keep Eveyla on your phone."

The guide screen
At the top, it says "Filing" and the period, like "Filing July to September 2026". Under it, the part you are on, like "Part 1 of 5 · Open the return". A green bar shows how far you are.
- Stuck? at the top right opens help. See Where are you stuck? below.
- The X at the top left closes the guide.
- At the bottom, Back goes to the part before.
- The green button at the bottom takes you to the next part. Its words change in each part. Part 5 has no button there: you finish with I've filed it.
Part 1: Open the return
The card says "Log in and tap Pending Tasks".
If your taxable activity number is not saved, a box asks for it first. It is on your GST certificate, next to your business activity. Type it in the box that says "Like 1". Then tap Save.
- Tap Open MIRAconnect under the card. MIRA's website opens.
- Log in. MIRAconnect shows 12 orange tiles.
- Tap Pending Tasks. It is the tile with the red number.
- A table opens. Find your GST row. It says "G-GST Return Filing".
- Tap the blue word Filing on that row.
- Back in Eveyla, tap I see “Statements” at the bottom.
Below the table on MIRAconnect is a box called "File a New Tax Return under Income Tax". Skip it. That one is not for GST.
Part 2: Statements
The card says "Upload your bills list first". With no bills, it says "No bills to list, so tick NIL". MIRAconnect keeps the numbered boxes hidden until this part is saved.
If you have bills with GST:
- Tap Download bills list in Eveyla.
- On MIRAconnect, pick Input next to Statement Type.
- Put the bills list in Upload Statement.
- Tap Check.
- When MIRA asks, tap Save.
- Back in Eveyla, tap I tapped Save.
The card above Download bills list shows how many bills and their GST. To see the list, tap See what's in it on that card.
If some bills are marked Equipment, there is one more file. Before step 4, tap Download equipment sheet in Eveyla. Put it in Upload Capital Expenditure Information Sheet on MIRAconnect.
Some equipment bills may wait for a later return. A grey note then says they are not in these files. Did you save an equipment sheet on MIRAconnect before? If this return has no equipment sheet, remove the old one on MIRAconnect. If MIRAconnect does not let you, ask MIRA.
If you have no bills with GST:
- On MIRAconnect, pick Input.
- Tick NIL Statement.
- Tap Check.
- When MIRA asks, tap Save.
- Back in Eveyla, tap I tapped Save.
Never tick NIL on Output. You had sales. Only big businesses make an output statement. The app says that means MVR 5 million or more in income last year.
If you upload again, the new file replaces the one you saved before. Close and open Eveyla again before you download, so you get the latest file.
With no bills, the card asks "Bought stock from GST suppliers?" Their bills take GST off what you pay. Add them in Insights, Money first, and you get a bills list instead of NIL. See Bills and GST: add a bill.
Part 3: Open the boxes
The card says "Tap Proceed to Return Filing".
- On MIRAconnect, find the panel called Your Statements. On a phone, scroll down. On a computer, it is on the right side.
- Tap Proceed to Return Filing.
- Back in Eveyla, tap I see the boxes.
Part 4: Fill the boxes
The title says "Table first, then the boxes". MIRA's form says "Please complete the table overleaf". That table is on the other page of the return. Fill it first. Most boxes on the first page are grey, and MIRA fills them from the table.
Each box has a tag:
- Type: you type it on MIRAconnect.
- Check: it is grey on MIRAconnect, and MIRA fills it. You only check that it matches.
First comes The table for your activity. It has one row for each taxable activity, with its number and name from your GST certificate. Eveyla shows your Activity number. If it is not saved yet, a box asks for it here too. MIRA does not accept this page without it.
- Tap a line in Eveyla, like Column 3 "Sales of supplies subject to GST at 8%". The app copies the amount and says, for example, "Copied 12500.00".
- Paste it in the same column on MIRAconnect.
- Do the same for Column 4, Column 5, Column 6 and Column 11.
Type these columns with 2 decimals, like 12500.00. Type 0 in the ones at 0. Columns 7 and 8 are grey. MIRA fills them. Never type your input tax (the GST on your bills) into the table. It is not a sale.
Then Eveyla lists boxes 1 to 13 in MIRA's order. The box you are on opens big. It shows a plain name, MIRA's name, a short note and the amount.
- For a Check box, look at the number on MIRAconnect. If it is the same, tap It matches.
- For a Type box (8, 9 and 13), tap Copy. Then paste it in that box on MIRAconnect. Copy also ticks the box and opens the next one.
- For box 11, "What you're paying now", type the number MIRA shows in box 10. Leave the box under box 11 empty. If something is typed there, delete it. Then tap Done.
The button at the bottom says Done, box 1 next while you are on box 1. Tapping it also ticks that box and opens the next one. You can tap any box in the list to tick it or untick it. When every box is ticked, the button says All boxes done, next.
If box 10 is below 0, your bills had more GST than your sales. That is a credit, not money you owe. In box 11, type 0. MIRA then asks why boxes 10 and 11 differ. Tap Copy the reason in Eveyla. Paste it in the box under box 11.
A card called Service charge (Schedule One) shows when you collected a service charge. Schedule One is a page of MIRA's form. MIRA wants it month by month. Tap a month, like "Collected in October 2026", to copy it. Fill the rest from your staff records.
Is service charge on, but you collected none? Then Eveyla says to tick "did not charge any service charge" on Schedule One. See Add a service charge.
Part 5: Submit and pay
The card says "Check, submit, pay MVR 1,200". With nothing to pay, it says "Check and submit".
- On MIRAconnect, tap Check and calculate.
- If MIRA lists errors, tap Stuck? in Eveyla.
- Read Before you submit, check in Eveyla. It shows what boxes 4, 5, 7, 10 and 11 should say.
- Compare them with MIRAconnect.
- Tap Submit on MIRAconnect. MIRA shows a voucher number. That is your proof.
- If you have something to pay, MIRA asks if you want to pay now. Tap Yes.
- Pay with your bank card.
- Back in Eveyla, under Save it in Eveyla, type the voucher number in the Voucher number box.
- If you had something to pay, find "Did you pay the MVR 1,200?". Tap Yes, on MIRAconnect, Bank transfer or Not yet. Yes, on MIRAconnect is picked when you start.
- Tap I've filed it.
With nothing to pay, Eveyla says: "Nothing to pay this time. Keep the voucher number as proof you filed."
The app says "July to September 2026 saved as filed", and Your GST returns opens. This period then locks. Bills you add later go into the next return.
Not paying today? Pay later on MIRAconnect, from Pending Tasks, on the Payment row. Paying after the due day adds a fine.
Where are you stuck?
Tap Stuck? at the top right, or Tap Stuck in a note. A sheet called Where are you stuck? opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) The problem for the part you are on is already picked. You can pick another:
- Can't find Pending Tasks or Filing
- MIRA shows errors on my bills list
- No Proceed to Return Filing button
- A box on MIRA shows a different number
- Something else
For the bills list and the box problems, Try this first shows tips.
- Send a screenshot to Eveyla opens WhatsApp. Your shop, the period and this step are already written. Add your screenshot and send.
- Call MIRA on … calls MIRA's help line.
Who can use it
Only the owner can open the filing guide. A senior manager sees "The owner files the return. You can see it here." on the GST return.
It needs a Storefront, the Bills and GST add-on, and GST turned on in Settings. You can see the price in the add-on store. See Turn an add-on on or off.
Common mistakes
MIRA shows red errors on my bills list
Close and open Eveyla again. Download the bills list and upload the new file. Most errors come from an old file, or one changed in Excel.
- An error about a TIN (tax number) means a supplier's TIN is wrong in Eveyla. Fix it in Money, then download again. See Bills and GST: suppliers and what you owe.
- An error about capital expenditure (equipment) means the equipment bills are more than this return can take. Download both files again, and upload them.
Still stuck? Tap Stuck? and send a screenshot. The app says: "We fix the file, not you."
I can't find Proceed to Return Filing
Go back to MIRAconnect's Statements page. Make sure you tapped Save after Check. If the table says Parked, your statement is saved, but you left before this button. Open Filing again. Still nothing? Tap Stuck? in Eveyla.
A box on MIRA shows a different number
Boxes 1 to 6 come from the table on the other page. Check each column there: sales go in column 3, and input tax is never typed in. Box 7 comes from the files you saved in Statements. Upload the bills list again (and the equipment sheet, if you have one) and tap Save.
There is no GST row in Pending Tasks
You may have filed it already. Check Filing History on MIRAconnect. If MIRA shows a different period from Eveyla, change How often you file in GST settings first. See Bills and GST: your GST return.
Tip
Use two screens. Keep the guide open on your phone, and MIRAconnect on a computer. Sign in to Eveyla on the computer too, and download the bills list there. Then the file is on the computer where you upload it. See Sign in, sign out and reset your password.
