What it is
Insights shows how your shop is doing. It has five tabs: Overview, Items, Customers, Money and Credit. This article is about Overview, and about picking the days you want to see. Insights is empty at first. It fills up with every order.
Find it
- Tap Insights in the bar at the bottom.
Overview opens first. On a computer, Insights is in the bar on the left.
If you are the owner and do not see Insights, your shop is a free listing. Insights needs a Storefront. See Free listing and Storefront.
Other ways in, for the owner and senior managers:
- On the order board, Live may say "All caught up". Then the owner sees a How today went button. Tap it.
- Open the Counter (the POS tab). Tap the Today pill (a round-ended button) at the top. It shows today's sales, like "Today · MVR 450".
- On the Customers page, tap Insights at the top.
- In Grow's weekly message on Telegram, tap See the week in Insights. In the monthly message, tap the button with the month's name, like See September in Insights. See Get Grow's morning brief on Telegram.
Each of these opens Insights on This month. To see today, tap the pill at the top of the dark card. Then tap Today. See Show me below.

The tabs
The tabs are under the Insights title:
- Overview: this article.
- Items: see See which items sell.
- Customers: see Learn about your customers.
- Money: see See money in and money out.
- Credit: your credit book. See Keep a credit book.
On a computer, the tabs are next to the Insights title.
Reports
The round button with a page picture, at the top right, opens Reports. On a computer, it says Reports. See Find and share a report.
Show me
Every tab except Credit starts with a dark card. At its top is a pill (a round-ended button). It says which days you see, like This month and the dates. These days are called the period. When you open Insights, it shows This month.
To pick other days:
- Tap the pill. A sheet called Show me slides up. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Tap Today, This week or This month. Or tap a month under A month.
The sheet closes, and the tab shows those days. To close the sheet without changing anything, tap the X at the top right.
Under A month, the first tile is This month. For an older shop, the last tile says Shop opened. It is the month your shop started. The month you see now has a tick.
To pick your own days:
- Under Your own dates, tap From.
- Pick the first day.
- Tap To.
- Pick the last day.
- Tap Show these dates.
To see one day, pick the same day in From and To.
At the right end of the pill's line are two arrows. The left arrow shows the days before. The right arrow shows the days after. The right arrow is pale when you already see today.
A week starts on Monday. The days you pick stay when you change tabs. When you leave Insights, it goes back to This month.
Sales
The big number on the dark card is your sales for those days. Under it:
- A small box with an arrow and a percent, like "12%". Next to it are words like "vs last month", "vs last week" or "vs September". The arrow points up when you sold more than before. It points down when you sold less. When the days before had no sales, it says "Nothing to compare with yet".
- A bar chart with a bar for each day. The best day has a label, like "Wed 8 · MVR 1,200".
- A line like "12 orders · MVR 150 average · 30 items".
Sales today
When you pick one day, the dark card says Sales today. For a past day, it says Sales. Under the number is the same box with a percent. It says "vs yesterday", or "vs the day before" for a past day.
Next come boxes: Cash, Transfer and Not paid. On days with a card payment, a Card box shows too. Last is a line like "5 orders · MVR 120 average".
Collected and Not paid yet
For more than one day, a white card sits under the dark card. It shows:
- Collected: the money you got.
- Not paid yet: money from orders that are not paid yet.
- A green and orange bar.
- A line like "You kept MVR 800 after costs". If you have not added expenses, it says "Add what you spend to see what you keep".
Tap the card to open the Money tab.
Close the day
For one day, the white card says Close the day and "Check your drawer before you lock up". Tap it to open the Close the day report. See Close the day.
Your best day
When you look at a week or more, a card can name your best weekday. For example: "Mondays are your best day. Most orders land in the morning."
Under it is a dot for each day, Mon to Sun. A bigger dot means more sales on that day. Under the dots it says "Average sales per weekday." Then a line like "40% of orders come in the morning."
Otherwise, you see a card about the time of day. For example: "5 orders so far. The afternoon brought 3." It has four dots: Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night. Each shows its number of orders.
Needs you
These cards sit in a row. Swipe sideways to see them all. Each one shows something to look at:
- "Chocolate cake is sold out", with "Buyers see it as unavailable" and Restock.
- "Juice: 3 left", with "Running low" and Check stock.
- "MVR 300 not paid yet", with "From orders in this period" and See money.
The item cards open the Items tab. The money card opens the Money tab. When nothing needs you, Needs you is not there. For stock, see Keep count of your stock.
On a computer, Needs you is a list on the right.
Best sellers
Best sellers shows your top three items by sales. For one day, it says Selling today.
With three items or more, they stand on steps. Number 1 is in the middle, 2 is on the left and 3 is on the right. Each shows its photo, its name and its sales, like "MVR 1,200". With one or two items, you see a list with "12 sold" and the sales.
Tap an item to see its own numbers. Tap All items to open the Items tab. See See which items sell.
Your insights are warming up
Sometimes you look at more than one day, but there are only a few orders. Then Overview shows a card: "Your insights are warming up". It says you will soon see your best sellers, your busiest hours and who comes back.
Until more orders come in, Overview shows only the dark card, this card and Needs you.
- Share your shop link opens your order board. To share your link, see Share your shop link and QR code.
- Ring up a counter sale opens the Counter. See Make a sale at the Counter.
Send a summary
On a computer, Overview has a Send a summary card that says "WhatsApp or PDF". It opens Reports. See Find and share a report.
Who can use it
The owner and senior managers can open Insights. Managers and staff do not see it.
Insights needs a Storefront. It is not part of the free listing.
Common mistakes
I don't see Insights
If you are the owner, your shop is a free listing. Insights needs a Storefront. If you are a manager or staff, Insights is not for your role. See What each role can do.
My days went back to This month
Insights opens on This month every time. Tap the pill and pick your days again.
The right arrow does not work
You already see today. Tap the left arrow to go back.
A red message shows in Show me
- "Pick both dates first." Tap From and To, and pick a day in each.
- "The first date must come before the second." The From day must be the earlier one.
- "You can't pick a date in the future." Pick today or an earlier day.
It says "Could not check your plan" or "Couldn't load this"
Check that your phone is online. "Could not check your plan" also says "Your connection dropped. Nothing has changed on your shop." Tap Try again under it. For "Couldn't load this", leave Insights and open it again.
Tip
Look at the dots on your best day card. The smallest dot is your quietest day. Share your shop link on that day to bring in more orders.
