What it is

Every sale at the Counter (the POS tab) has a receipt. You can show it on your screen. You can also save it as a picture or send it to the customer. Every sale is also kept on your order board, under Done. From there, you can reverse a sale made by mistake. On the day of the sale, you can also change its items.

Find it

For the sale you made a moment ago:

  1. Tap POS in the bar at the bottom. The Counter opens.
  2. Tap the row under the search box. It says something like "Sale #12 · MVR 85" and Receipt ›.

For an older sale, or to fix a sale:

  1. Tap Orders in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Done at the top, next to Live.
  3. Tap the sale. A Counter sale shows a small till (cash register) picture where other orders show a number. Its name says "Counter sale", or the customer's name.

To see only Counter sales, tap the round funnel button. It has no words, only a funnel picture (a cone, wide at the top). It is on the right of the Done row. Then tap Counter. When you finish, tap the funnel button again. Then tap All. If you do not, Live may look empty. See Find an old order.

On a computer, the bar is on the left. Tap Counter above the list to see only Counter sales. The sale opens on the right side of the order board.

If you do not see POS, see Turn on the Counter.

Every setting

Sale complete

After each sale, a sheet called Sale complete opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.) The receipt is in the middle, with Save image and Share under it. Turn your screen so the customer can see it. For the rest of this sheet, see Make a sale at the Counter.

Customers see

the receipt on your screen, or the picture you send them.

The Receipt › row

This row is under the search box on the Counter. It shows a tick, "Sale #12 · MVR 85" and Receipt ›. Tap it to open the Sale complete sheet again, with the receipt of your last sale. Use it when the customer asks for the receipt after you closed the sheet.

  • It shows only when the Counter is empty. When you tap an item for the next customer, it hides.
  • It shows the last sale made on this phone. Each phone has its own.
  • It shows the receipt as it was when you sold. If you changed the sale later, get the new receipt from Orders. See Receipt on the order page below.

Save image

  1. Tap Save image under the receipt. It says "Saving…" for a moment.
  2. On an iPhone, your phone's share menu opens. Tap "Save Image" there. The picture goes to your Photos. The app says "Saved. Choose Photos to keep it".

On other phones and on a computer, the picture downloads. The app says "Receipt downloaded".

To print a receipt, save the picture. Then print it from your phone or computer.

Share

  1. Tap Share under the receipt.
  2. Your phone's share menu opens. Tap an app, like WhatsApp.
  3. Pick the customer.
  4. Tap send.

The message has the receipt picture and your shop link. When it is sent, the app says "Shared". If your phone cannot share pictures, it shares only your shop link. If it cannot share at all, it copies the link. Then the app says "Link copied".

What is on the receipt

From top to bottom:

  • your logo and shop name, and the sale number, like Nº 012
  • a big word in capital letters: SOLD, or ON CREDIT for a credit sale
  • the day and time of the sale
  • "Sold at": "The counter" and your island. If your shop keeps stock in more than one place, it shows the place.
  • "Customer", if you added one. See Add a customer to a Counter sale.
  • the items, with how many and the price
  • your service charge, fees and discount, when the sale has them. A discount shows like "Discount · 10% · regular customer".
  • GST, when you add it on top of your prices
  • the Total, and how it was paid: PAID · CASH, PAID · CARD, PAID · TRANSFER or ON CREDIT
  • for cash, what the customer gave, like "Cash MVR 100.00 · change MVR 15.00". This line is only on the receipt from the Counter.
  • a QR code (a square code that a phone camera can read), with "Scan to order" and your shop link. It opens your shop. Next to it: "All square" for a paid sale, or "On the book" for credit.
  • "Powered by Eveyla" at the bottom

The receipt from the order page can also show:

  • SETTLED and "SETTLED · CASH", when a credit sale was paid later
  • REFUNDED, after you mark the sale refunded. Next to the QR code, it says "Order again".
  • "Edited" and the time, after you changed the sale. Under the total, a line like "Paid MVR 85 · MVR 10 still to pay" can show.

If you charge GST, a part near the bottom says Receipt. With the Bills and GST add-on, a paid sale says Tax Invoice and its number. This shows at the top and near the bottom. If you added a business customer, it also shows "To", their name and TIN. A TIN is a tax number. For a credit sale, it says "Not paid yet. This is not a tax invoice." See Add GST to your prices and Bills and GST: tax invoices.

The sale on the order board

Open the sale from Done. The top of the page says "Order #12", with "Counter" and how long ago under it. The card under it says "Counter sale".

The Status part shows Sold and how it was paid, like "sold · cash".

The page does not list the items. They are on the receipt. The page also has Your note, and Customer if you added one. See Everything on an order page.

Reverse this sale

Use this when a sale was a mistake. For example, you charged the wrong items, or the customer did not buy after all.

  1. Open the sale. See Find it above.
  2. In the Status part, tap the red Reverse this sale button. A box opens. It says: "This reverses the sale. It comes out of your sales, reports and drawer count."
  3. Tap Reverse sale in red.

To keep the sale, tap Keep sale instead.

For a credit sale, the box says: "This reverses the sale. It comes out of your sales and reports. Aisha no longer owes it. Anything they paid stays on their account as credit."

The sale now says Reversed and "reversed". On the order board, it moves to the Cancelled group in Done. There is no button to undo it. To sell it again, make a new sale on the Counter.

Customers see

"Sale reversed" on their page for this sale. (That is the link you send with Share on the order page.) It also says "This sale was reversed. Your bag is off the counter." Under it: "Nothing is owed for this sale." For a credit sale: "You no longer owe this."

Mark as refunded

This button shows after you reverse a sale paid by cash, card or transfer.

  1. Give the money back to the customer.
  2. Tap Mark as refunded under Reversed. Under it, the app says "Tap once you've returned the money to the customer."

The app does not ask again. The sale now says "refunded". Its receipt says REFUNDED.

If no money went back, do not tap it. For example, you only picked the wrong way to pay.

Tapped it by mistake? Tap Undo refund.

After you mark it refunded, you can tap Add refund slip. Then pick a photo of your transfer. The app says "Optional. Attach the slip showing the money went back." To use another photo, tap Replace.

Edit sale

Change the items of a sale on the day you made it. For example, the customer takes one more, or brings one back.

  1. Open the sale.
  2. Scroll down to Sale.
  3. Tap Edit sale on the right. It has a small pencil. A sheet called Edit sale #12 opens.
  4. To change how many, tap + or − on the item's line.
  5. To take an item out, tap − until it shows a bin.
  6. Tap the bin. The line now says Removed. To bring it back, tap Undo.
  7. To add an item, tap Add an item under the list.
  8. Tap the item you want to add.
  9. Look at the box at the bottom. See below.
  10. Tap Save changes.

The box at the bottom shows the money:

  • Collect, like "MVR 10 more", when the new total is more
  • Give back, like "MVR 10", when the new total is less
  • Same total, when the total did not change

Under it, it says something like "Paid MVR 85. New total MVR 95."

With the Bills and GST add-on, a green note can show. It says the tax invoice stays as it is. See Bills and GST: tax invoices.

After you save, the app says one of these:

  • "Saved. MVR 10 more to collect."
  • "Saved. MVR 10 to give back."
  • "Saved. Stock is updated." when the total is the same

Your changes show in the Sale part, like "Edited 15:02 by Hassan" and "+ 1× Juice".

In Add an item, you can add items that say "Sold out" or "None left". To add something that is not one of your items, tap Custom item at the bottom. Type the Name and Price (MVR). Quantity starts at 1. Then tap Add custom item.

The rest of the sheet works like the one for online orders. See Change an order.

Mark collected and Mark given back

After you save a change, a card shows at the top of the sale. It says Collect "MVR 10 more", or Give back "MVR 10".

  1. Take the money from the customer, or give it back.
  2. Tap Mark collected on the card. It says Mark given back when you gave money back. A sheet opens.
  3. Tap how the money went: Cash, Card or Transfer. Cash is picked when you start.
  4. Tap Mark collected, or Mark given back, at the bottom.

The app says "Marked settled." The card goes away. A line is added in the Sale part, like "MVR 10 received in cash · 15:10 by Hassan".

For a transfer, you can add a photo of the slip. To close the sheet without saving, tap Not yet. For more on this sheet, see Change an order.

Receipt on the order page

At the bottom of the sale is Receipt, with Save image and Share. The receipt is not shown on the page. You see it when you save or share it. Use it for an older sale, or after you changed a sale.

Share here sends the picture and a line like "Your shop · Order #12 · MVR 85". It also sends a link to the customer's own page for this sale. See Save or share a receipt.

Customers see

a page that says "Bought at the counter". For a credit sale, it says "On the shop's book".

Who can use it

Everyone in your team can show, save and share receipts. Everyone can also reverse a sale and mark it refunded. This means the owner, senior managers, managers and staff.

Only the owner, senior managers and managers see Edit sale, Mark collected and Mark given back.

The Counter needs a Storefront. A tax invoice on the receipt needs the Bills and GST add-on.

Common mistakes

I picked the wrong way to pay

Edit sale cannot change how the customer paid. Reverse the sale. Do not tap Mark as refunded, because no money went back. Then make the sale again on the Counter, with the right way to pay.

I don't see Edit sale

Edit sale does not show when:

  • you are staff. Ask the owner or a manager.
  • the sale was not made today.
  • it is a credit sale.
  • the sale has only digital items.
  • the sale is reversed or refunded.

If the sale is not reversed yet, reverse it. Then make it again on the Counter.

It says Keep at least one item

You took out every item. To keep the sale, tap Undo on one item. If the customer brought everything back, tap Cancel to close the sheet. Then tap Reverse this sale.

The Receipt row is not on the Counter

The row only shows when the Counter is empty. It only shows on the phone that made the sale. A sale saved with no internet has no receipt there. See When the internet drops at the Counter. For any other sale, open it in Orders. Then tap Save image or Share under Receipt.

It says Couldn't save. Try again

Wait a moment. Then tap Save image or Share again.

A red message shows when I reverse a sale

It may say "Couldn't update this order. Pull to refresh and try again. If it keeps happening, log out and back in." Pull the page down to refresh it. On a computer, reload the page. Then tap Reverse this sale again.

Tip

Ask each customer if they want the receipt on WhatsApp. Tap Share on the Sale complete sheet and send it. The receipt has a QR code to your shop, so they can order from you next time.
