What it is
Dine-in is for cafés and restaurants. Customers order on your shop page, then come and eat at your place. They pay no delivery fee. You can offer dine-in on its own, or next to delivery and pickup.
Find it
- Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
- Scroll down to Delivery & payments.
- Tap Delivery. A sheet called Delivery opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Find the third card, They eat at my place.
On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.
Every setting
When you are done, tap Save at the bottom of the sheet. The sheet closes.
They eat at my place
Under the title, the app says "Customers order ahead and eat at your shop." Tap the card to turn dine-in on. It turns green and gets a tick. Tap it again to turn dine-in off.
When it is on, the card opens. If pickup is off, it starts with the box Where customers eat (see below). Under it are three notes:
- "Customers pick As soon as possible or a time. Times follow your pre-order hours."
- "They can add a table number. Tables are not held for them."
- "Your service charge applies, like a Dine-in pay link."
Customers only pick a time if you take pre-orders. See "Customers cannot pick a time" below. If you add a service charge, dine-in orders pay it too. See Add a service charge.
Customers seea Dine-in choice at checkout (the last page, where customers place the order). It is marked "Eat at the shop". Under it, your place and "Your food is ready when you get there. This does not hold a table." If dine-in is your only way, there is nothing to pick.
If they pay cash, checkout tells them "Pay at the counter when you arrive."
When you open a dine-in order on your order board, the top says "Dine-in". To move it along, see Accept an order and move it along.
Customers seeon their order page, the last two steps are "Ready" and "Done". See What customers see after they order.
Where customers eat
This box shows only when They collect from me is off. Type where customers come to eat, like your café name and street. The box shows an example in grey.
- If your shop address is set in Location, the box is called Where customers eat, with "(optional)" after it. Under it, the app says "Leave blank to use your shop address:" and your address. Leave it empty to use that address.
- If you have no shop address, the box is called Where customers eat, and you must fill it in. Under it, the app says "Shown to customers at checkout."
When pickup is on too, this box is gone. Dine-in uses your Pickup location instead. See Let customers pick up.
Customers seethis place under Dine-in at checkout.
Table
You do not set this. Customers fill it in at checkout, in a box called Table, with "(optional)" after it. It shows "Like 4" in grey. Under it: "Already seated? Add your table. On the way? Leave it blank."
When a customer adds a table, you see it at the top of the order, like "Dine-in · Table 4".
Who can use it
Only the owner can turn on dine-in. Team members do not see Settings. Everyone in the team sees dine-in orders on the order board.
It needs a Storefront. It is not part of the free listing.
Common mistakes

Small dine-in orders cannot check out

Tip
Put your shop's QR code (a square pattern that a phone camera can read) on each table. Customers at a table can scan it and order from their phone. Then they add their table number. See Share your shop link and QR code.
