What it is
Your category tells customers what kind of shop you are. It decides which category page your shop is on in the Eveyla shop list. You picked a category when you opened your shop. You can change it here.
Find it
- Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
- In the Storefront group near the top, tap Category. It shows the category you have now.
A sheet called Category opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
On a free listing, the group is called Your listing.
On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.
Every setting
To change your category:
- Under What do you sell?, tap what you sell. A tick shows on it.
- Tap Save at the bottom.
- If a sheet called Change your shop layout? opens, tap the top button. It says Switch to and your new category, like Switch to Bakery & cakes.
The sheet closes. The Category row now shows your new category. It also shows in small capital letters above the Settings title, like OWNER · BAKERY & CAKES.

Home food, Restaurant & café and Bakery & cakes are food shops. All the others are not.
Customers seeyour category in small capital letters above your shop name in the Eveyla shop list. Your shop also shows on that category's page. See Your shop in the Eveyla shop list.
Your category can also show next to your island at the top of your shop page. On a free listing page, it shows under your shop name, like "Bakery & cakes · K. Maafushi".
This changes your shop page layout
This grey line shows when you move between a food shop and any other shop. On a Storefront, food shops show items as a menu by section. All other shops show items as a product grid. On a free listing, your page looks the same.
The steps you tap to move an order along are also a little different for food shops. See Accept an order and move it along.
Your look (Shelf, Market or Feast) stays the same. See Choose your shop's look.
Change your shop layout?
On a Storefront, this sheet can open after you tap Save. It opens when you move between a food shop and any other shop. It says, for example: "Switching to Bakery & cakes changes your storefront from a product grid to a menu by section and changes your order steps." Then: "Your items and orders are kept."
- Switch to Bakery & cakes saves your new category.
- Keep it as is takes you back to the Category sheet. Nothing is saved.
On a free listing, this sheet does not open. Save saves right away.
Who can use it
Only the owner can change the category. Team members do not see Settings.
It is free on both plans: the free listing and the Storefront.
Common mistakes
My shop is on the wrong category page
Tap Category and pick the right one. Then tap Save. Your shop now shows on that category page.
My items look different after I changed my category
You moved between a food shop and another shop, so the layout changed. To go back, pick your old category. Tap Save. Then tap Switch to and your old category.
My new category did not save
If you tapped Keep it as is, nothing was saved. The X at the top right also closes the sheet without saving. So does tapping the dark part of the screen. Pick your category again and tap Save. If Switch to shows, tap it.
Tip
Pick the category customers would look in first. A cake shop that also sells juice is still Bakery & cakes. Customers who want cake will find you there.
