Run a giveaway

Every setting

Ran a giveaway before? When it has ended, the page shows its results. Scroll down and tap Run another giveaway. Then go on from step 2.

To make a giveaway:

1. Tap + Create a giveaway. A sheet called New giveaway opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
2. Type a name in the Name box. For example, Expo giveaway.
3. Under How you draw, tap Every night or One draw.
4. Type what people win in the box under Prize. For example, Gift box worth MVR 500. For One draw, type it in the box next to 1st.
5. Tap the box under Starts.
6. Pick the first day.
7. Tap the box under Ends.
8. Pick the last day.
9. Tap the box under Draw every night at.
10. Pick the time.
11. Tap Create giveaway at the bottom.

For One draw, the boxes in steps 5 to 10 are called Tickets open, Draw day and Draw at.

The app says "Giveaway is set. Print the QR next." The Giveaway QR sheet opens. See Giveaway QR below.

The other settings are optional. Each one is explained below.

Giveaways

This is the giveaway page. With no giveaway, it shows Run a giveaway and three steps: "Print one QR for your stall", "People scan it and get a ticket" and "Draw the winners and call them".

Once you make a giveaway, its name becomes the page title. Under it, a label says how it is:

• Starts Thu 22 Oct before the first day
• Live · Day 2 of 9 while it runs (for one draw: Live · Draw today, or the draw date)
• Paused when tickets are paused
• Ended Fri 30 Oct after it ends

On the right are the QR button and the ⋯ button (three dots). Only the owner sees the ⋯ button.

While a giveaway runs, this page is for that giveaway. You can make a new one after it ends. To add tickets, draw and call the winners, see Add tickets and draw a giveaway.

Name

Customers do not see the name. The app says "Only you see this. Customers see the prize." The box shows Expo giveaway in grey. That is only an example.

How you draw

You have two choices:

• Every night (picked when you start): "One winner a night, for events over several days".
• One draw: "Up to 5 prizes, all drawn on one day".

You pick this only when you make the giveaway. When you edit it later, this choice is not shown.

Prize

This is for Every night. Under Prize, tap one:

• Same every night (picked when you start): every night has the same prize.
• Different each night: a box shows for each night after the first. Type that night's prize. A box you leave empty uses the first night's prize. Tap Copy first to all to put the first prize in every box.

Then type what people win in the box under it.

A night that is already drawn keeps its prize. Its box is pale.

Customers see

"Win Gift box worth MVR 500" on your giveaway card and the prize on their ticket.

Prizes

This is for One draw. There is a box for each prize, starting with 1st and 2nd. Type the top prize in the 1st box.

• Tap + Add a 3rd prize to add one more. You can have up to 5.
• Tap the × next to a prize to take it off. Only one prize? Take off the 2nd box.

The app says: "You draw the smallest prize first and the 1st prize last. A ticket wins once." Once you start drawing, the prizes cannot change.

Starts and Ends

For Every night, pick the first day in Starts and the last day in Ends. There is one draw each night. On a new giveaway, Starts is today and Ends is 8 days later.

For One draw, the boxes are called Tickets open and Draw day. People can get tickets from the first day.

Once anyone has a ticket, the start date cannot change. Its box looks pale.

Draw every night at

This is the time of the draw. It starts at 21:00. On the right, the box shows how many draws there are, like "9 draws". Tickets taken after the draw time go into the next night's draw.

For One draw, the box is called Draw at. On the right it shows the number of prizes, like "3 prizes".

Who can get a ticket

1. Tap the box under Who can get a ticket. A sheet with the same name opens.
2. Tap Anyone on your shop page or Only people with your QR or link.
3. Tap Done.

• Anyone on your shop page (picked when you start): "The giveaway shows on your shop page while it runs."
• Only people with your QR or link: "Nothing shows on your shop page. People need to scan the QR or open its link, so it stays close to the stall." The app adds: "If someone loses the link, they scan again".

You can change this while the giveaway runs. Tickets already taken stay in their draw.

Customers see

a giveaway card above your items. It says "Daily giveaway" ("Lucky draw" for one draw) and "Win" with the prize. It also says "Free to enter. No purchase needed." and when the draw is. The button says Get a free ticket. Before the first day, it says See the dates.

Get a free ticket

This is the sheet customers fill in. It opens when they tap Get a free ticket on the card, or scan your QR.

Customers see

the prize, a Your name box, a Phone number box and a Get my ticket button. Under the phone box, it says your shop calls this number if they win. Under the button, it says "Free, no purchase needed."

After they tap Get my ticket, they see a message like "You're in tonight's draw". They also see a ticket with their number, like 0143. They can tap Send to a friend or Browse the shop. When they come back to your shop page, a small line shows their ticket number and the draw time.

If they use the same number again for the same draw, they see "Already in tonight's draw" and their old ticket.

Only Maldives mobile numbers work: 7 digits, starting with 7 or 9. For other numbers, customers see "Maldives numbers have 7 digits. This one has 6." or "Maldives mobile numbers start with 7 or 9."

Before the first day, there is no form. Customers see when tickets open, like "Tickets open on Thu 22 Oct."

Tickets per phone number

This is for Every night. You have two choices:

• One each night (picked when you start): each phone number can get one ticket for each night.
• One in total: each phone number gets one ticket for the whole giveaway.

With One draw, each phone number gets one ticket.

Customers see

the rule under the Get my ticket button, like "One ticket per phone number for each draw."

Show winners on your shop page

This switch starts on (green). Winners show with their first name and part of their phone number, like "Aisha · 7•• ••34".

Customers see

"Tonight's winner" on the card after each night's draw, and a Winners list. The list says each winner is "picked at random by Eveyla" and that your shop can't choose.

When the switch is off (grey), customers do not see who won. The winner still sees that they won.

Ask about offers

This switch starts on. It adds a tick box to the ticket form: "Also send me offers from" and your shop name. In your ticket list, people who ticked it show Offers.

Remind me to draw

This switch starts on. Eveyla sends a Telegram message and a phone alert at the draw time. Under the switch, it says the time, like "Telegram and phone alert at 21:00".

Staff can add tickets

This switch starts on. "For people with no phone at the stall". Staff can then add a ticket from the giveaway card on the order board. You, your senior managers and your managers can always add tickets.

Giveaway QR

One QR works for the whole giveaway. To open it, tap QR at the top of the giveaway page. Before the first day, you can also tap Print the QR.

1. Tap a size at the top: Stand (picked when you start), Poster, Sticker or Status. The line under it says what it is for, like "A6 · 105 × 148 mm · for a table stand".
2. Tap PDF to print for a file to print. Status has no PDF.
3. Or tap Save image for a picture. Status is made for WhatsApp and Instagram status.

Each size shows your shop name and the QR, in your shop's colours. Stand and Poster say "Scan for a free ticket". Sticker is small and says "Scan to win". Status shows the prize and "Scan or open the link".

The giveaway link is under the buttons. Tap the copy button on its right. It says Copied. Then paste the link in a chat.

Customers see

when they scan the QR or open the link, your shop page opens with the Get a free ticket sheet. Before the first day, they see when tickets open. If they already have a ticket, they see it.

Edit giveaway

1. On the giveaway page, tap the ⋯ button at the top right.
2. Tap Edit giveaway. A sheet called Edit giveaway opens.
3. Change what you need.
4. Tap Save changes. The app says "Saved".
