Give a discount at the Counter
Take money off the whole sale at the Counter, by an amount or a percent.

What it is
A discount takes money off a sale at the Counter (the POS tab). You can take off an amount, like MVR 10, or a percent, like 10%. You can also say why, like for a regular customer. The discount is for the whole sale, not one item. For codes customers type on your shop page, see Make a promo code.
Find it
- Tap POS in the bar at the bottom. The Counter opens.
- Tap the items the customer wants.
- Tap Charge in the green bar at the bottom. A sheet called Charge opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
- Tap the Discount tile, under the amount, on the right. It says "MVR or % off". A sheet called Add discount opens.
On a computer, tap Charge · MVR 85 at the bottom of the sale on the right.

Every setting
Add all the items first. Then give the discount.
To give a discount:
- Tap MVR 5, MVR 10, MVR 20, 5% or 10%. For another amount, tap Other (see below).
- Read the line under the tiles. It says the new total, like "New total MVR 75 · MVR 10 off · was MVR 85".
- If you want, tap a reason: Regular, Damaged or Staff.
- Tap Apply · MVR 10 off at the bottom.
You are back on the Charge sheet. The tile is now green and shows your discount, like "MVR 10 off". The amount at the top is lower. Under it, a line says "Items" with the full price. Below that, a line says "Discount", with "-MVR 10" in green.
Then take the money as usual. See Take cash, card, transfer or credit at the Counter.
The discount tiles
Nothing is picked when the sheet opens. The line under the tiles says something like "Pick a discount, full price is MVR 85."
- MVR 5, MVR 10 and MVR 20 take that amount off.
- 5% and 10% take that part of the price off. For example, 10% of MVR 200 is MVR 20.
- Other lets you type your own amount or percent.
The full price here is your items only. If your shop adds a service charge or GST, the amount on the Charge sheet is higher.
Other
- Tap Other. Two buttons show: MVR off and % off. MVR off is picked when you start.
- To give a percent, tap % off.
- Type the number on the number keys, like 15. It shows in big numbers, with "MVR" or "%" next to it.
- Tap Apply · MVR 15 off. For a percent, it says Apply · 15% off.
To fix a mistake, tap the delete key at the bottom right of the number keys.
If the number is too big, the line turns orange: "Percent can't go past 100." or "That's more than the whole sale (MVR 85)." Until you fix it, the button says Apply discount and stays grey.
Reason · optional
You have three choices: Regular, Damaged and Staff. None is picked when you start. Tap one to pick it. Tap it again to take it off.
The reason shows on the discount tile, like "regular customer · Change". It also shows on the "Discount" line, like "Discount · regular customer".
Customers seethe discount on their receipt, as a green line with the money off. It says "Discount", and the percent and reason if you gave them. For example: "Discount · 10% · regular customer".
Change discount
- Tap the green tile that shows your discount, like "MVR 10 off". It says "Change" under it. A sheet called Change discount opens.
- Tap the new discount. Nothing is picked when this sheet opens, even when a discount is on. Your reason stays picked.
- Tap the button at the bottom. It says what you picked, like Apply · 5% off.
Remove discount
You can take the discount off in two ways:
- On the Charge sheet, tap the X at the end of the "Discount" line.
- Or tap the green tile that shows your discount. Then tap Remove discount at the bottom.
Discounts on pay links
The Discount tile also works when you make a pay link. The link shows "Discount" and the money off. See Send a pay link.
Who can use it
Everyone who can use the Counter can give a discount: the owner, senior managers, managers and staff.
Discounts need a Storefront, like the Counter.
Common mistakes
Apply discount is grey
Tap a tile first. With Other, type a number bigger than 0. If the line under the tiles is orange, the discount is too big. Make it smaller.
My discount is gone
You closed the Charge sheet. The discount does not stay when the sheet closes. Tap Charge again. Add the discount again before you take the money.
It says The discount is more than the items
You took items off after you gave the discount. The button at the bottom stays grey until you fix it. Tap the green tile that shows your discount. Pick a smaller discount, or tap Remove discount.
The percent is wrong after I changed the items
The money off does not change when you add or take off items. Tap the green tile that shows your discount. Then apply the discount again.
Tip
Pick a reason each time you give money off. It shows on the receipt, so you and your team can see why the price was lower.
