What it is

Many customers live in flats above the ground floor. With doorstep delivery, they can pay a small fee. Then the rider brings the order up to their door. Customers who do not want it pay nothing extra, and the rider meets them downstairs. When doorstep delivery is off, the rider always meets customers downstairs.

Find it

  1. Tap Settings in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Delivery & payments.
  3. Tap Delivery. A sheet called Delivery opens. (A sheet is a panel that covers part of the screen.)
  4. Find the first card, I deliver to them.
  5. If it has no green tick, tap it.
  6. Scroll down to Doorstep delivery.
  7. Tap its switch. It turns green and the Doorstep fee (MVR) box opens.

On a computer, Settings is in the bar on the left.

Every setting

  1. Type your fee in Doorstep fee (MVR). For example, 20.
  2. Tap Save at the bottom of the sheet.

Doorstep delivery

Under the title, the app says "Charge extra to bring the order up to the customer's door." The switch starts off.

Customers see

when the switch is off, checkout says "The rider meets you downstairs" and "This shop doesn't deliver up to your door." under their address. Checkout is the last page, where customers place the order.

When the switch is on, checkout asks delivery customers for their floor. They tap Ground, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5+. With 5+, they type the floor in Which floor?.

  • In Malé, Hulhumalé, Hulhumalé Phase 2 and Vilimalé, customers must pick a floor. If they do not, checkout says "Pick your floor. The rider needs it to find your door."
  • On other islands, Floor says "(optional)" next to it, and Ground is already picked.
Customers see

if they pick a floor above Ground, a question like "You are on the 3rd floor. Where should the rider hand it over?" Then two choices: Meet downstairs, marked "Free", and Up to my door, marked "+MVR 20".

Meet downstairs is picked first. Customers tap Up to my door to pay your fee.

If you turn the switch off and tap Save, the app keeps your fee. Turn it on again, and it comes back.

For everything else customers fill in for delivery, see How customers order from you.

Doorstep fee (MVR)

This is what you charge to bring the order up. The box shows a grey 20. That is only an example: type your own fee. It must be more than 0.

Customers see

"Brought up to your door" with your fee, when they tap the total at checkout. Under the total, the delivery fee and your doorstep fee show together, like "Includes MVR 50 delivery".

Free delivery does not cover the doorstep fee. If the customer picks Up to my door, they still pay it.

What you see on the order

If a customer picks Up to my door, the order page shows a Doorstep line with your fee. The floor is in the customer's address, like "3rd floor". The receipt also has a Doorstep line. See Everything on an order page.

Who can use it

Only the owner can set up doorstep delivery. Team members do not see Settings.

It needs a Storefront. It is not part of the free listing.

Common mistakes

A red message says "Doorstep fee must be more than 0."

The Doorstep fee (MVR) box is empty, has 0, or has something that is not a number. Type a fee bigger than 0, using only numbers, like 20. Then tap Save. While you type, the box itself may say "Enter a fee greater than 0."

I cannot find Doorstep delivery

The card shows only when I deliver to them has a green tick. Tap that card at the top of the sheet. Then scroll down.

Customers in Malé say checkout asks for their floor

That is part of doorstep delivery. With the switch on, customers in Malé, Hulhumalé, Hulhumalé Phase 2 and Vilimalé must pick a floor. The rider needs it to find the door. If you do not want to ask, turn off Doorstep delivery.

A customer cannot pick Up to my door

Up to my door shows only above the ground floor. If the customer picked Ground, the choice does not show, and there is no doorstep fee.

Tip

Tell your riders to check the money lines on each order page. If they see Doorstep, they take the order up to the door. If not, they meet the customer downstairs.
