What they are

Three pages set the rules:

  • Shop Terms: the agreement between your shop and Propera Pvt Ltd, the company that makes Eveyla. They are the rules for selling on Eveyla. They apply to the owner and to everyone who works in the shop.
  • Terms of Use: the rules for everyone who uses Eveyla, customers too.
  • Privacy Policy: what information Eveyla keeps, why, for how long, and what you can ask for.

You agree to all three when you open a shop, use the app or pay Eveyla.

Find them

  1. Open your phone's browser.
  2. Go to shop.eveyla.com. This is the Eveyla shop list.
  3. Scroll down to the very bottom.
  4. Tap Shop terms.

To read the Privacy Policy, tap Privacy instead. Terms opens the Terms of Use.

At the bottom of each of these pages, there are links to the others: Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Shop Terms and Paying Eveyla.

You also see the links when you start:

  • Under Start free trial, when you first sign up: "By starting, you agree to the Shop Terms and Privacy Policy."
  • Under Join, when you join a shop's team: "By joining, you agree to Eveyla's Shop Terms and Privacy Policy."

Tap Shop Terms or Privacy Policy in that line to read them.

These pages have no button back to the app. To go back, use the back arrow on your phone or browser.

What the Shop Terms say

The page is long. At the top, it asks you to read sections 5, 9, 18 and 23 carefully. Here are some main points, in short:

  • You are the seller. You sell straight to your customers. Your items, prices, delivery and orders are your job.
  • Food safety: you follow the food and health rules in the Maldives. Your ingredient and allergen details must be true. Allergens are foods that make some people ill, like nuts.
  • Some things must not be sold. For example, anything illegal in the Maldives, weapons, or fake goods.
  • Customers pay you, not Eveyla. Eveyla never holds the money for your orders and takes no cut of your sales. A slip check does not prove the money arrived, so check your bank.
  • Taxes are yours. You decide on GST (the goods and services tax) and do your own filing.
  • Fees: you pay Eveyla a flat fee. It is the same, however much you sell. Fees you paid are not refunded, even for unused time. There are a few exceptions, listed in the Shop Terms. If you stop paying, your shop stays as a free listing.
  • Your team: a shop has one owner. The owner controls the settings, payments and bank details. To move a shop to a new owner, contact Eveyla.
  • Grow and other tools can be wrong. Check what they suggest before you use it.
  • Reviews: do not post fake reviews or review your own shop.
  • Your photos and words stay yours. Eveyla may show them to run Eveyla and to advertise it. If you send Eveyla an idea, Eveyla may use it freely.
  • Eveyla is not responsible for your sales, your customers or your products. There is also a limit on what Eveyla pays if something goes wrong.
  • Messages: you agree to get messages about your account, orders and bills. Order alerts can fail, so keep an eye on your orders. See Emails and messages from Eveyla.

When the Shop Terms change, the Last updated date near the top changes. For big changes, Eveyla tells you in the app or by email first.

What the Privacy Policy says

  • What Eveyla keeps about your shop: your account and shop details, and the bank details you show customers. It also keeps your bills and slips, business records, files you upload, and messages you send Eveyla. Documents you send to get verified are kept private and never shown.
  • Your team: the names and emails of people you invite, and their roles.
  • Your customers: their order details, like name, phone number and address.
  • How long: while your shop is open, and for a time after.
  • Your rights: you can ask Eveyla for a copy of your information. You can also ask Eveyla to fix it or delete it. Section 13 says how to ask.

What customers agree to

Customers do not agree to the Shop Terms. When they order, they agree to the Terms of Use and the same Privacy Policy.

Customers see

"By placing the order you agree to Eveyla's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy." It is near the bottom of checkout (the last page, where customers place the order).

Paying Eveyla

The Paying Eveyla page explains who you pay and that fees are not refunded. The owner can open it while paying:

  1. Tap your shop name at the top left.
  2. Tap Billing & trial.
  3. Tap Next: pay at the bottom.
  4. Tap Propera Pvt Ltd · Eveyla · Maldives. It is under the pay box.

See Pay your Eveyla bill.

If this happens

I can't find the Shop Terms in Settings

There is no row for them in Settings. Use the links at the bottom of the Eveyla shop list, as shown in Find them.

I have a question about the rules

Ask Eveyla. See Contact Eveyla.

Tip

Look at the Last updated date near the top of the Shop Terms. Write it down. When the date changes, read the page again.
